Are you selecting the the individual layer using the layer selection tool?
Also, I think there is a skin texture for a model, Bianca I think, that is much lighter than standard.
Check skin surface. This is my settings and result in render with daz default lights (i'm too lazy for setup environment)
Stock skin (weight 0.55, no face makeup)

You are not the only one who wants to continue it but without the duf of environments and characters it is difficult to continue the game... Not to mention the style used in the renders...A promise by CRAZY X WIZARD
