Unpopular opinion: I wish adult VN devs would drop this Patreon bullshit and release finished games at a premium price. Fuck all this sitting around waiting months on end for another hour of content. Just sell me your game. I'll happily give you 30 or 40 bucks for it if you'll just let me play the whole damn thing at one go.
That wouldn't be feasible. The money they get in the preceding months is to fund the actual work. It's not like they're getting a bunch of investors onboard for a product released in a year.

Not even a option. What you call "patreon bulshit" is what pays for the games being done in the first place, usually by the team of a handfull of people or a lot less (lot of games here on F95 have a developer team made of one).
Without it most games here wouldn't exist.

Yeah, it is called starting your own business. That is the normal way of starting up a small business. His only expense is a computer capable of making renders and Daz assets. Renply is free and writing is not an expense either. This is not an Amazon type start up company where you pitch to investors. It is a small business that is almost always done by people borrowing\investing\risking their own money. What he proposes is completely feasible but less lucrative for the developers. They can milk the cash cow longer by dangling future updates. If the game is complete you will only have one cycle.
I don't fault anyone for wanting to make money. I respect what game developers (including games like these) do and I want them to be well compensated for their work. Patreon is just so damned inconvenient, for the player and the dev. Patreon's rules are nebulous, inconsistently applied, and frankly pretty fucking stupid. I'd just rather be sold a game so I can play that game, and I'd rather the developer get paid a fair amount for their work. That's all.
I will say that at this point you can make that augment for ICSTOR as he has more then funded development of his games. other top games too. Do most games make that much not by a long shot. As for investors to magically invest in porn games that's not something that happens that often. Also try to find a bank that will loan to you when you tell them your making a porn game or anything in the Adult field. For investors too much risk

Tbh, it sounds more like you are talking about steam then patreon lol. Which kind of crosses any place where you could make any sales lol.
Steam will take your game and not explain the rules [cause fuck the porn market] and games will try to censor it in hopes that it won't ban hammer it and you still can get blocked - with no reprieve.
Lets be real - patreon rules are consistent. The BANS might not be consistent but its mainly to do with if its visible to anyone working at patreon without having to download the application. Don't use ips /no family fucking/ no rape . We just bitch and moan when they catch the games that break the rules. Rules are their which is why developers "try" to hide it with land ladies, etc. If you hide it off front page/pictures/posts then you can MAYBE get by. If its in application then if someone reports it then it goes under review and they more often then not give you time to fix it. Tons of people making any of the above content for images/animations just post there stuff on a private discord because they know the rules - they just choose to ignore them.

Hey so I'm very confused, does the gallery work? A few scenes have occurred and nothing gets unlocked, and what are the secret cards? I have collected quite a few and it hasn't unlocked anything in the gallery, what do they unlock?
