Hey so I'm very confused, does the gallery work? A few scenes have occurred and nothing gets unlocked, and what are the secret cards? I have collected quite a few and it hasn't unlocked anything in the gallery, what do they unlock?
The gallery doesn't unlock on a per-scene but rather on a per-quest basis. For instance the scenes with Zuri and Suri will only unlock after you have completed their respective storyline.

I don't fault anyone for wanting to make money. I respect what game developers (including games like these) do and I want them to be well compensated for their work. Patreon is just so damned inconvenient, for the player and the dev. Patreon's rules are nebulous, inconsistently applied, and frankly pretty fucking stupid. I'd just rather be sold a game so I can play that game, and I'd rather the developer get paid a fair amount for their work. That's all.
That model has come and gone out of favor in many industries, though: developers have an easier time managing their finances by predicting subscription patterns than offering a single purchase of perpetual license software less frequently.

The piracy per release in both cases will likely be about the same, and I'd wager that the numbers of purchasers for infrequent, major releases would not be significantly higher than subscription levels which are achieved across a series of smaller releases. With the latter, Devs can be paid on a monthly basis - not with the former, though.

If anything, the Patreon model - which is hybrid perpetual/subscription model in that the releases you obtain as a subscriber will not time out after you stop paying - happens to be something between the Adobe Common Cloud model and one-time perpetual licenses, which (as mentioned a handful of posts above) seems to have practically made the adult game/VN cottage industry more viable for some Devs in this day and age ... because they can look forward to a certain, predictable level of constant income for their expenses (at whatever level of popularity they happen to attain). I've seen a number of Devs on Patreon who decided to quit their 9-5 jobs because their monthly take from the patron model was enough to cover living expenses and whatever else they might need beyond.

Unpopular opinion: I wish adult VN devs would drop this Patreon bullshit and release finished games at a premium price. Fuck all this sitting around waiting months on end for another hour of content. Just sell me your game. I'll happily give you 30 or 40 bucks for it if you'll just let me play the whole damn thing at one go.
What you ask is exactly kickstarter. And they definitely can't use it for porn games. Not to mention most money on kickstarter goes to board/card/miniature/dice games. Some studios makes milions for a game they need only like 50K.

That and I feel like the whole Kickstarter fad came and went.

Prior to take his few month break, the game was not around 40% but around 60%, believe me I am waiting for this game as much as you are... exept that I am doing it more quietly!
So he managed 15% in 6 months? That's beyond slow as shit.

I sarcastically posted about this on the prior page:
Yes, he did. It's all laid out in this thread and re-hashed on almost every page.
Please don't reply to me if you have nothing to add. I know he took a break cause he was apparently "burned out". I don't need to hear your pretend exasperation when answering a simple question.

It's not 'pretend exasperation' - your 'simple question' is asked on literally every goddamned page and many of us infer that people parachuting in every day that haven't read a single word prior to their post are either lazy or can't read. Neither trait is admirable...

Then perhaps stop being a lazy armchair dev and do a simple search instead of asking something that have been answered N times. :sneaky:

I'll ignore the fact that you apparently are on this thread "every single day", which is beyond pathetic and simply tell you to ignore my posts and other posts that bother you.

Saying "read other people's posts" when this fucking thread has almost 1,200 pages and it gets updated at a rate of 100 a day or so is ridiculous.

What answer? I just wanted a clarification on the dates because I haven't kept up with it.

First your math suck, progress was at 60% in may when he take his break and he came back sometime in june. So june to august is about two months so it's 15% in two months.

Second after following this game that % means almost nothing because he doesn't update that nearly never. Maybe tomorrow or next week it's 95% and couple of days after that it says testing and then it's about a week and the update is complete.

You see...there's this thing called the 'notification system' that helps people stay current without living in the thread.

Heaven forbid that you should read back a couple of pages, but the question you asked was discussed on the very page your post landed. Exactly how much of your precious time would it have taken you to scroll up a couple of post, versus this no-value-added exchange?

My math doesn't suck, I just don't remember the update time since it's been fucking months. I remember the first updates taking about 2 months each to release, and then 0.5 taking like 4-5 months for some reason and now this one got longer as well, even if you ignore the "break" he took.

This seems like the typical dev making updates longer and longer to take advantage of his own supporters.
You see...there's this thing called the 'notification system' that helps people stay current without living in the thread.

The only thing you said a page back is that he got burned out and that's why he took a break. I already knew that so I really don't know why you keep repeating yourself.

I also don't know why you think you're in a position to tell other people to stop repeating themselves when you spend 24/7 on this thread saying absolutely nothing new.

30 seconds looking in my post history will prove you wrong, kid. Doesn't matter anyway because I'm not going any further with this and it will all get deleted in a couple of hours by the mods.

I did check and you're wrong. Just cause you're butthurt cause you got proven wrong doesn't mean you have to immediately report the entire thread, kid.

Guys, chill. Milfy's one that's known to be one that takes time to get made. You're more than welcome to add constructive opinions but also, search is your best friend if you want to find an answer.

You could say that it's a typical dev making updates longer to milk his patrons. It's the patrons who are paying with their cash and if they appreciate that then who are we to argue?

But also, it takes a fuck ton of time for each dev to make quality work. If you do think that a dev does milk, please try and put yourself into the shoes of a dev for a moment and see if you can handle what they do.

But on the other side, my notifications ALWAYS miss something and that's a systemic issue since the xf2 update (Change of forum code) so it's tough to say that notifications will help people stay current.

It's a known fact that Milfy's one that takes time between updates and if that's not to your liking then there's plenty of other devs who would love your support :)

No, it's not. The first 4 updates all came out in like 2 months. It's only the last 2 that got very long without any explanation from the dev.

Carcosa, Just because you don't try to search for it and read doesn't mean there was no explanation given.

Somehow i suspect he won't bother doing neither.

That's not true, the first two updates came out in like 2 months. Third update was 0.4b and it has over 1200 new renders and 93 animations so it take much longer. That upcoming update will have 1200-1500 new renders and god knows how many animations and that my friend took lots of time.
