What is "the renpy file"? Ren'Py has many files in an installation. Do you mean the zip file?
The file isn't corrupt, or you'd see a lot more people complaining about it here. Your download might be corrupt, or there might be a problem with your machine. If you want help, you need to give details:

Ok, just finished the 0.6. God the MC is braindead. We need Bob to kill this mistake, and take his place, slap Linda for cheating on him, coz the MC can't be his. Then get the daughters, and show them a real male instead of a joke of MC.

In MC's room there is an extra heart icon on the top right. I think it is a 'switch' to change between timeline.
