Realistically speaking, this guy has apparently a depression which he stated by himself. A depression can be very tricky and is one of the most complicated mental health issues. Ultimately all supporters and people here have to deal with his decision.
He also said that his new medication was really helping and that he was back to his old self. I even caught flak for hoping he was being truthful. It looks like he was not and just making it up.

Realistically speaking, the overwhelming majority of people with depression and mental health issues get up every day, pull up their big boy pants, and go to work. Speaking from personal experience I soldier through my personal issues because I have no other choice. If ICSTOR is claiming that his mental health is getting in the way of his work then he should do the responsible thing and put his patreon on hold again.

Looks like half of f95zone forum is doctors and psychology specialists :D Good to know. When I will have some issues I know where to go ask :D
lol, but for real tho if the guy is sick he should get some help AND put the Patreon on hold because as from what we see, there are no updates what so ever regarding the game itself on his page and the percentage is still 70! I am not saying he is lying or anything I understand that the guy may be going through depression god help him, but he can't use his supporters like this! All that we got to do is wait. Although I'm not positive that he going to release anything this month because of the lack of communication.

My first computer was an IBM 8088 with 16 KB of ram, a 360 KB HD, and a 5 1/4" floppy disk. It ran DOS 3.0. Times have changed.
Heh. My first computer had windows 95 on it. I remember being a kid and being yelled out to get off the internet because parents were expecting a phone call. Now the internet is on the phones and a lot peeps dont even both having computers anymore. Its tablets, phones and pads.

Well to be fair, it's amazing how so many high income Patreon devs suddenly get weird health problems.
Probably a curse or something.
A conspiracy like that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If they're rolling in patreon dough for putting out work. Seizing all work because of weird health problems especially if faking it would certainly seize the cash flow. If not right away, fast enough to make someone rethink their scheme.

But if you're looking up every Patreon of these devs who are "on a break", they are, like you say, rolling in patreon dough and having a monthly cash flow without putting out any new game updates, except maybe sometimes a wall of text or some screenshots.
Malise and the Machine is my most favorite example for this.

And when time comes and they will made update, all that paying sheeps make such a MEGA HYPE that all other players comes with their money too. That exactly happened in Milf city example. Last 1200 pages of this thread is about 0.6 :D And take a look on graphtreon :D Slowly rise up than when work on update started, skyrockets up 180% :D

They play the game right, can't say I wouldn't do the same, but I hate people who defend this.
As far as I know of it, there is only one dev charging by every major game update and not every month, that guy has all my respect.

Here is the part I do not understand. I am guessing we all start with a decent computer hardware setup. We all enjoy working with DAZ to bring our particular fantasies to digital reality. We work and save to improve our initial computer, because it is necessary. Getting the new, better rig is such a joyous day! Then we have an idea for a game that ends up being liked by people. They support you and you are able to get MUCH better hardware that allows you to be even more creative and faster. You are paid to do what you (hopefully) are passionate about.

How do you go from that to....? I cannot even imagine in my head how a 10 graphic card setup looks like?! The rendering times must be insane!

I will work and save and improve my setup. And I hope I will enjoy every minute of it, both before and after.

I know I'm new here but if the last update was on the 30th January then at least it's still being worked on. Perhaps slower than liked but not dead.
