It's now even lowered to 63%
If this was an actual game and not an adult game, he would have been torn up by the media and an investigation for fraud would have been opened
Somebody should report him to patreon though they rarely care about such cases.

Investigated for what, losing patrons? He lost about 1500 of them yesterday so obviously the goal went down

What I don't get is, how is it that things that are incredible get abandoned while trash keeps on going and growing.

I know he had health problems or it was someone in the family, can't rightly recall. But in a year and a half even putting in 2 - 3 hours of work per day he would've had enough to release one or two updates.

To be honest tho, I'm really getting suspicious of this health problem thing, a dev hits a snag and it's always a health problem.

Like seriously I know people who are getting destroyed and have all sorts of problems because of work yet still manage to get up in the morning and work 12 hours a day.

Momentum. Being early means entering a market with low competition. This means that you become the default for any new players, whom are willing to make more risky investments due to not knowing better.
New competitors are thus at a disadvantage because they have to create a game that generates the same amount of momentum, but with less players willing to invest.

There's also some changes in the market you have to consider. Previously it was possible to advertise, with a big bright neon sign, that you were creating an incest game, but now that's a big no no for payment processing sites. The result is that a lot of games that are clearly incest focused have to pretend they are not, which means they are less visible to those that want that sort of stuff.

Like seriously I know people who are getting destroyed and have all sorts of problems because of work yet still manage to get up in the morning and work 12 hours a day.
That's because they want to survive. Icstor is at no risk of being starving or being sent to the streets. He earns a comfortable living by doing nothing and isn't greed driven enough to want to put effort into earning a little more.

What's with the 3 months cycle, btw? Does it have something to do with Patreon rules?
The 3 month cycle isn't so much for Patreon or his Patrons, but more to address various sites like F95 that have rules about game status and development. F95 has rules that require developer communications to ensure a game isn't abandoned. The communication timeframe for F95 is 3 months (90 days). As stated by a few of the moderators, if there is no game development within 2 years of a previous release, the game will be marked Abandoned. ICSTOR seems to have a marketing machine in place. He's hired a Community spokesperson/PR person to interact with Patrons and publish updates. On another site, someone publishes the comics he created from the artwork of his games every 6 months. This has been going on for the last 18 months. It's like clockwork. The last such release was during February/March of this year, so I expect another release around August. If he updates his Patreon page this month, he won't have to touch it again until September to meet the F95 timeframes. When you know the rules, you can learn how to "game the system". By the rules laid down by the various sites, he's done nothing wrong. Common sense, common curtesy, fair play, whatever... don't come in to play. Until he breaks some site's rule, or rules, he can continue on his merry way.

This is actually the funniest thing in this whole situation. The guy "hires" a community manager to work for him for free, who desperately tries to keep his Discord server and game alive by telling everyone there how he is communicating to Icstor all the time and reaching out for his comments so they can post some info to Patreon. With this, ICSTOR is simply a genius. The dude doesn't even have to open up his Patreon page anymore by himself, when he has his own butler to do the dirty work for him, he can just cash out the monthly paycheck. He just makes couple fast renders every three months that he can throw to the butler alongside some made up excuses as a "proof" of his work and then the butler makes the post, clears up all the shitposts from his "My Community" page and again waits another three months to repeat this. I'm more than sure day by day, that he will keep this thing going until he gets booted out from here in December with Abandoned-tag, then makes that 10min rushed ending just to get it changed as completed, and starts the whole thing again with his new parody of a game.

Isn't this an unrelated place to the devs that offers the games for free?

What am I missing?

This is one of the biggest free marketing areas on the internet for the porn game devs. So many people download it from here, and then jump the gun with becoming the patrons. Why do you think so many devs download the first versions of their games here in the beginning? They get eyes to the product, some people might get interested and start supporting them. ICSTOR did the same, since the person who made the original post for this thread was one of the ICSTOR's admins at that time. He knew very well this place would get him popular, and it certainly did, and it still does. Top-1 thread on this forum, the first thing that pops up in Google when you google "milfy city icstor".
