I know it says its to be abandoned, but from what I gather it isn't the first time. I believe it is really on hiatus until the other project (whichever one that is this time) meets whatever expectation for this year.

Unfortunately no, Patreon doesn't have such inactivity term in their ToS.
It is abandoned for 2 years now.I love this game , this game is very good but when i saw "Abandoned" , i hope this is not true
