I call bullshit. 60 000+ words is not realistic unless he's counting some auto-generated RenPy-code. If we're talking characters of text, then maybe, but I still doubt it.
Aren't like 80k the average length of a novel? Agreed, this seems... unlikely. I mean, almost a full novel for one update, wtf, did he change porn-dialogue into Shakespeare over-night?I call bullshit. 60 000+ words is not realistic unless he's counting some auto-generated RenPy-code. Yes, it is. 60k words is usually somewhere between 200 and 300 pages in a book.Aren't like 80k the average length of a novel? Agreed, this seems... unlikely. I mean, almost a full novel for one update, wtf, did he change porn-dialogue into Shakespeare over-night?
What? You want something, writer? As a writer I feel obligated to point out that just because a sentence is complete, doesn't mean it makes sense.
Because Cock Cheese jumps over lampshades of dog skin.
Well, I don’t wait for neighbors at all, so not everyone is waiting for themCalm boys. He try to give us a masterpiece neighbour content. Who cares Caroline or Celia? Fuck that. Everyone waits for neighbour content. Best thing ever in this game. Stop whining, it hurts.
Thanks for the post Pepegaa.
Are you feeling okay, buddy?
This has to be stressed; with any dev work, linear addition of content or features leads to exponential addition of time in bug-hunting and testingThanks for the post Pepegaa.
So finally the frustration of just his elite club made him reach out. Fair point but IMO, this is what happens if you aren't consistent. TBH - the game's strongest point was never the story but it's amazing renders.
His communication and timelines for deliverables needs a lot of discipline. NLT is the one to emulate in this regard.
Yeah, that's something I've tried to offer here, at least. This has to be stressed; with any dev work, linear addition of content or features leads to exponential addition of time in bug-hunting and testing
That's an average of only 28 words per picture. Your own message above is 28 words. When you consider that renders commonly have multiple lines of dialogue, I think it's a very realistic number.I call bullshit. 60 000+ words is not realistic unless he's counting some auto-generated RenPy-code. Please try to grasp the total amount we're talking about here. You assume each and every render is ment to be shown as a picture on it's own with a few lines of dialog? Just to see if it's at all reasonable, let's assume that an average reader manages 250 words per minute. Just reading all the text in this update takes more than four hours. If you spend three seconds per picture, then that's an additional two hours. All in all six hours if the system will pump new pictures and new text non stop and you just watch it passively. We're talking something along the lines of two Lord of the Rings-movies.That's an average of only 28 words per picture. Your own message above is 28 words. well, he understands everything because he has 7,000 patrons!"I'm delaying this update for neighbor content"
~months later~
"I'm delaying this update AND cutting down the neighbor content"
Wew lad, truly a rollercoaster of emotions.
That's kind of unfair. There's nothing simple about making these games. This one is the best one I've ever played. If he's duping us contributors then that sucks, but we aren't talking about some studio with a lot of employees. It's just one or two pervy dudes making some seriously good content.I was right. Icstor continued to lie. By October 10 he would say the game will be released at the end of October. Then it will be the end of November again ... I thought up that the game would have been abandoned. Donors are too naive to easily forgive him. That makes him a lazy, liar.
I don't see where we're disagreeing? That sounds very reasonable to me in terms of how much time I expect the new update to take to play through. It took me about 3 hours to complete the 0.5 update content. So 0.6 taking over twice as long, considering it's twice the size, makes sense. Please try to grasp the total amount we're talking about here. As soon as you add any kind of interactivity here, the time will increase exponentially.
And we're not at all considering the amount of work needed to produce 60k words of text in something like a game such as this.
