And?
Whether the game is free here doesn't mean anything, ICSTOR doesn't release the game for free you have to be a $10 patron to get the game unless you pirate it. boxedjack was replying to a comment where mt2007 said ICSTOR works hard to release a free game which is why boxedjack said the game isn't free.
Uh yeah....it was my comment as I'm mt2007  And what I said was true. The people on this site who play the game are getting it for free. So I fail to see what all the complaining is about.

hehe so you are I didn't even see you username ugh I really should get some sleep.
It's really simple people are frustrated by the delay so they complain, I don't see why the shouldn't.
This is a thread for people to discuss milfy city if people want to vent their frustrations about the dev or the delayed update... Why shouldn't they?

That's the type of mindset people essentially rely on to get rich on patreon. Everyone is thinking in singular terms. Problem is when you have 7,000 people going "oh it's the cost of a cheeseburger every month" all that adds up to essentially making the dev a millionaire. Guaranteeing slower updates/milking/etc. Individually supporters don't see it as a problem.
I think the real problem is having a thousand people getting something for free and blaming patrons and Icstor for them not getting it. People often forget they're entitled to nothing. I can't think of anything that's more draining as a developer than a bunch of people whining at you.

Add to that a large number of people who care way to much about how other people choose to spend their money and you have all the pieces you need for a big fuck-off sandwich.

I think the reason I don't see it as a problem is because I don't care about it as much as others here do. It'll come out when it comes out, if it comes out. Whatever. I have so much other shit to do with my time I don't have to stand here in the terminal waiting for a plane that might not come. But you know what, it's my money, I worked for it, and I'll spend it how ever the hell I want. If I want to wad up $20 bills, wipe my ass and flush them down the toilet, it's my business and no one else's. Cheers mate!

As someone who is a writer, you're full of shit. The bible has roughly 800,000 words in it. You expect us to believe that a porn game has 8% of the content of the bible in it just for three characters? I'm sorry, but no. Most people have written essays, short stories and so on in their lives. We all have a general grasp on word count thanks to a crazy little thing called school. He's inflating the numbers and hoping no one will notice, and if he's not then he's wasting time puffing up the game with meaningless dialogue. It's a story about a family with women who all inexplicably want to fuck their extremely generic white guy son/brother. It would take a hell of a stretch for those figures to be accurate and not a massive waste of time.
I goddamned promise you that if the writers of the bible had access to a word processor and a printer, that fucking book would be a lot goddamned bigger than 800,000 words! If I was hand writing this shit, I have no doubt I'd be cutting corners all over the place. As it is, I can type out a shit ton of content in a short period of time.

If you're a writer who can't produce 5k words in a day, then you seriously need to spend some time developing your trade craft. Cause when you have a story in your head ready to go, a strong grasp of language, and can type like a mother fucker, 60k ain't shit.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Exactly right. Bet anything that guy has never been to college before. Probably just a flunk out who sits at home writing "novels" that will never be published and believes it is some holy grail. I'm not trying to take away from writing, as I think it probably requires some effort, but no where near what everyone blows it up to. I wouldn't pay a writer as much as I'd pay a coder which is infinitely more difficult. Those who believe writing is so difficult clearly is either just horrible at writing and has no creativity at all, which seems to be like 95% of the community... or has impaired English.
While I generally agree, I put writing and coding on the same level. Excellent coding requires a knack for efficiency and simplicity. Good writing requires an active imagination and a command of language that doesn't make you sound retarded.

But I agree, it's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be and when you can type fast, and have your plot and plan ready to go, everything falls onto the page fast and before you know it, you've laid down a lot of text in an afternoon.

I wrote an obituary earlier this week in a half-bio/half-story style, took me less than an hour. It was 915 words and I've received rather positive feedback since (fortunately).

Over the course of a couple nights where I had some free time 2-3 months back, I wrote a potential game outline in a variation of standard play format and it came to almost 6K words. This thing will grow greatly when I get full dialogue and scene cues/details in there.

ICSTOR's writer has been engaged for more than a few hours on this installment.

Although you can claim bs on something which you haven't even seen, I can also find it reasonable to accept what has been offered: IMHO, ICSTOR gains nothing from lying at this time. It's mostly the pirates and bystanders complaining, anyway - his patron Discord channel is rather serene.

I've tried saying the same thing ... just get a bunch of facepalms without any actual rebuttal to what I've said. 100+ pages of people jerking each other off with dev hate for something they get for free is just sad.

Hmmm... do I go with the "you all keep saying writing is easy, wish you'd all applied when I was hiring writers at my workplace, woulda made the search a whole lot simpler" sarcastic response or instead the "as a professional writer myself, I look forward to having so many talented writers join the profession and show us how easy it really is" approach?

To be fair, I typed it knowing I'm not going to change any minds. The lines are clearly drawn and no one is going to budge. Just felt like clearly marking my own position in the debate.

Either way, I'll keep throwing Icstor money. Maybe I'll get an update, maybe I won't. At the end of the day, I don't miss that cash, and I have plenty of other things that keep me occupied. My days don't revolve around Milfy City or any other game (except my own, but that's a different obligation and a project of passion).

Besides, why spin circles in the mud over Milfy City when you have an entire website full of other games to try! I have no doubt in the pages and pages of F95Zone's threads there is another gem waiting to be discovered.

And when/if the Milfy City update does come, I'll be sitting happy with a steak, cigar, and fresh bottle of scotch ready to salivate at whatever debauchery is coming my way. Salute mate!

If you're serious, shoot me some deets in dm. I'd love to hear what this job is you speak of.

Is there a Linda in your office? Though, if there is a Bob, I must decline any offers of employment.

Great, you cancelled your sub! You did the only thing that matters.

Do you think complaining here is going to make him release 0.6 any faster? Do you think complaining here is going to stop the other 7k+ subs to his Patreon? Do you just complain to get thumbs up from other people complaining?

What do you hope to accomplish by complaining in this thread? What's the goal?

Isn't that the point of any communication? To impart information and therefore to sway other people's opinions?

Granted, given that most people don't base their decisions on logic or reason but instead go with whatever instinct tells them to do (and note, this is not an insult - people need to be trained to reflect on their decisions and to critically examine information imparted to them. They don't do it by default,) that's difficult.

But again, to answer your question, yes.

A well-reasoned argument that is presented properly should theoretically be able to convince someone else. Assuming, as always, one can get past that baseline stubbornness that makes people instinctively resist anything that doesn't come from inside their own head.

I won't deny there are people who whine for the sake of whining. Just like there are people who zealously defend a position they know is untenable simply because they detest the idea of being seen as weak if they change their mind. I find both extremes distasteful. I would hope most people do.

October 9 is too early lol
Unlike that other guy, I’m actually from the future. Here’s what really happens:

- Congress decides to settle the Trump impeachment thing with a high stakes pie eating contest involving all members of both houses, but it degenerates into a massive barf-o-rama when AOC pre-game chugs a bottle of castor oil to get back at Nancy Pelosi.

- Vladimir Putin promotes a bunch of white supremacists into his government and decides to save western civilization by nuking Germany and Western Europe. Trump nukes large portions of Africa and South America in an attempt to get revenge on the white supremacists.

- Despite dangerous levels of vomit and nuclear holocausts, ICSTOR manages to release a Milfy City Halloween special with approximately six minutes of playtime. The October release is, naturally, delayed for this.

- The release is rescheduled for late November, but is postponed to release a Thanksgiving mini-game involving Bob, the gremlin, and a turkey baster.

- Trump, acting on advice from his son Barron, tweets angrily at ICSTOR and, in a phone call with Italy’s new PM Salvini, threatens to put tariffs on Italian exports unless his government investigates the recurring delays in the Milfy City release. Democratic primary candidates respond heatedly, with Warren commenting “Me pay heapum big wampum in Patreon subscription”, Sanders screaming about “fatcats smoking cigars while young twin sisters struggle” as he flails his arms, and Biden making excited groping motions with his hands whenever Sara is mentioned.

- ICSTOR promises a December release as global media begins a concerted campaign against “incestcels” and their online campaign of misogyny and racist terrorism.

- After a series of mass shootings during the holiday season, before which the perpetrators posted anti-ICSTOR manifestos on the online hive of villainy and terrorism known as F95, Patreon pulls the plug on all erotic games, including Milfy City, just days before ICSTOR’s scheduled release. ICSTOR is extradited from Italy and forced to testify in front of a Congressional hearing, while the evil website F95 is seized and shutdown by the Department of Justice and the FBI conducts raids on its most prominent posters.

- Merry Christmas. See you in 2020!

I have seen very little well reasoned arguments, but I agree with your point - the only issue is that a large portion of his subscribers probably don't frequent this site, so the messages here aren't being heard anyways.

There are other people in this thread, who are subbed to ICSTOR, have already said they don't care about their monthly contributions and there are others who have cancelled their subs because they don't agree with what he's doing. I'm pretty sure people have already made up their minds at this point on whether they're going to support him or not .. the rest is just noise. If they haven't made up their minds, there's 1400 pages to read and make a choice - I don't think anything else can be said that hasn't already.
