Lots of 0.1 projects get posted daily and only a small percentage of those go anywhere. I suggested a two hour minimum playable content requirement before a project gets posted and was laughed at by the staff and moderators. Not a perfect solution by any means but better than nothing.

I would estimate that over half of the new projects posted are simply cash grabs. If the public likes it and it takes off they continue, if not, you know the story...

I have to be careful what I post in this next bit or I'll get a "Questioning F95Zone's policies and moderator decisions" warning like I have several times in the past. Projects are allowed to be posted when the game isn't even a demo yet - pre-alpha usually with nothing more than a couple of screenshots and text to demonstrate a concept. No checking or verification is done to ensure that there's actually sometime to play before a new project is posted. This leads to lots of abuse and "cash grab" type new projects being posted daily.

I'm not claiming that this game fits this mold (I haven't played it). It's just difficult for players when a dozen or so new projects are being posted daily with only a small percentage of those projects ever reaching 50% completion or even a full year of development.

The new trend is to develop small one hour playthrough games and fast spam them on Steam for $5 each for maximum exposure since each project is a different game and multiple mini-games can be released per year.

Bottom line - the site is cluttered with abandoned projects that went nowhere. Anymore, I won't even touch a game unless it has at least four hours worth of content to play through. I can usually estimate this by examining the changelog and number of updates.

Hmm..I barely even remember this game. Sad to see another game end up canceled or abandoned.

noobtrain I completely agree with your message. Unfortunately, this issue is all too common in mainstream games. It's not just smaller developers acting this way—just look at EA. Your suggestion should be the standard for any game that offers an option to purchase it.

I don't get this. The game is actually updated more than one and a half years from it's first release (almost two years here on F95) and *now* people start chanting "another one bites the dust"? Who knows what will happen with this game, the dev taking one and a half years to do one update is not a great sign, but it clearly isn't abandoned (anymore)...

Lately Devs are Making new games with a lot of potential to just drop the game so its understandable why some think its abandoned i had to check for myself to see.

I'm confused. was this game abandoned already or is it getting the abandoned tag now because dev gave up?

Lately...? Hasn't this always been the case? People want to try out making a porn game, have this dream they want to convey or maybe think it will be an easy way to make a fast buck. Then they discover it's a ton of work and the money maybe ins't flowing in as quickly and freely as they had hoped or people complain rather than praise their vision = give up.

Don't see why that would lead people to claim something is abandoned directly after it has an update posted though...

I think it had the abandoned tag from before and now it should be removed. People chanting "another one bites the dust" directly after it was updated doesn't exactly make it less confusing. But to read at least two or three of the comments before posting a comment oneself is of course to much to ask of a fellow degenerate...:KEK:
