Your au naturel thread is awesome too, but I found myself having to comb through a lot of stuff trying to find MS games. I find this thread much better than the main one, it's more like a repository instead of recommendation and there's a lot of garbage games. I have loved almost all your MS recos, you are certainly a man of culture!

I'll also suggest Imperial Chronicles as one of the best ongoing games currently in terms of story, world-building and amount of choices (can probably have more than 6 play through with completely different story progression every time). The dev is one of the most active, never misses a deadline let alone abandon a game.

Thanks I'm glad you enjoy the thread! I really need to give Imperial Chronicles a shot. People seem to keep recommending it to me, and I did really love the mom in Monkey Business which was made by the same dev.

I feel the same, Monkey Business is still the only game that made me feel like I was actually making a choice in the game as the actual character. And the mom was gorgeous.

The mother in Imperial Chronicles, or the Queen Mother should I say, is probably the most beautiful motherly mother I have seen yet. With all the facial expressions and everything. The MS relationship really comes out in the best way in a medieval context. If you ever go through the thread, the Queen is the most popular LI, BY FAR.

Yeah I'll probably play it soon now that its the holidays. My main hesitancy was the central story in Monkey Business was very weak, plus I'm also not big on fantasy settings (not to mention I absolutely HATED the bitchy tsundere sister in MB -- but that's another story). But if the MomQueen is even half as hot and well written as the mom in MB, I'll be more than satisfied.

Oh IC is exponentially better than MB in terms of plot, it's shaping up to be the Game of Thrones of AVNs (the OG seasons) IMO. With prophecies and possibly power struggles later (won't spoil anything).

Funny, I loved the sister :unsure: mostly because it's the first game I played where the BS relationship actually felt real with all the banter and everything.

I can only vouch for Imperial Chronicles myself, I'm usually not too keen on games with a heroic fantasy theme, but this one is way, way above average. The lore and world-building is on a scale that is unexpected for an AVN, there's quite a few branching with enough differences to account for multiple playthroughs, MC can be either a cruel sonofabitch or a just and kind prince based on your choices...the only issue I have is the less-than-perfect Engrish that breaks immersion. A user here is working on a proper English rewrite, also fixing many bugs in the process, I'm helping a bit with it (did a replay gallery coding that'll be built-in his version). He's done with 5 chapters out of 11, working on the 6th now, and it's a massive improvement.

Are there any great games out there that focus not just on the sex, but are heavy on romance and relationship building as well?

Imperial Chronicles is possibly one of the best on this site.

You're probably talking about Filipis's mod. I exchanged some messages with him when he was first starting out, played the 0.1 mod. It was indeed a huge improvement, but I wouldn't blame the dev for the translation thing.

He is Russian, cultural differences come in when talking about phrases and language so no translation can be 100% accurate. For the best experience, it has to be an adaption like what Filipis is doing. Despite all this, and some other things lacking (camera angles in scenes for ex.), the game is unbeatable in terms of immersion and consistency of updates. For me it has somewhat transcended the AVN status, I see it more as an extremely intriguing story that just happens to have my favorite fetishes in it.

Don't know what Lazy Monkey does but other devs need to copy things from his process, maybe we'd have less abandoned games then.

No More Money is the best in terms of relationship progression that I have played. Things take time, are handled realistically and have a huge payoff (especially Tris and Charlotte).

Also, Monkey Business has the best and most plausible MS buildup of all games, especially on the love path.

Thank you! I just played (and re-played...) Monkey Business and now I think I've set myself up for disappointment in the future because it was so fucking good.
