I understand that people get upset when something they really like suddenly stops, that's fair.
But I can't justify to myself that working on something that isn't fun anymore is a good idea. It is super hard to keep the same level of quality as when I REALLY liked this project. The next update would just be half assed because I forced myself through it. And for what? Money? The money is nice, of course. And it gives me a boost to know that people are willing to support me. But I have a full time job. I don't need the support to survive, I do this because I love doing it.
I'm also sad about abandoning this game by the way. I was staring at my monitor for hours feeling stressed out about whether I should announce that I'm abandoning it or not. But I wanna be honest with you all. Better that then I just leave without saying anything, hoping that people won't stop donating, like some devs...
Also, Money or Morals is NOT dead. The "main" game is. I'm gonna make more content with the characters from it.
Not gonna lie, I was shocked when I saw the Abandoned tag when an update was just recently put out. This was a very enjoyable game, and I am sad to see it go.
That being said, as someone who enjoyed it for free, I am 1.) glad that you'll be continuing to develop something with the characters, and 2.) didn't disappear leaving people wondering what happened to you.
I get the supporters' disappointment, and yes, they have a right to be upset. But I also get not continuing a project that you no longer have a passion for. Even though i have put no money towards this game, I ask and hope that whatever you decide to do moving forward will justify letting this gem go.

Cheers, and best of luck, dev.
