Hmm... suppose I have a favorite character that would love to get some attention and could commission a NSFW artist friend to help with the given character/scenes. How would that work? Any specific guidelines?
Thanks for the offer! However, Threshold doesn't take outside contributions to the game's art. If there is an artist whose style you believe would fit MGD, feel free to contact Threshold to point them to said artist, but the whole conceptualizing, commissioning, and implementing process is something that the guy would rather handle themself. Offers for outside contributions are duly appreciated, but won't be a thing for a number of reasons.

If you would like to commission original artwork for a mod of your own, however, that's totally fine. As it would be to commission said art for the purpose of fanart, which is always appreciated and showcased on the official Discord... For that matter, we should probably make a booru or something for MGD, given the amount of fanart, but I digress...

Guys I was just making a joke because I thought the mods were high quality. I don't know why so many of yall stick around if you dont think the characters grow or have enough drama when there are plenty of other monmusu games about world ending plots and life or death stakes. Im here to kiss the pretty girls and listen to them vent while in the comfort of their thigh headlock. Sre progress isnt the fastest but by patreon alone these two guys are making about $11 an hour to make extremely niche an imho quality stuff.

The growth we do get is the relationships built between the player and monster girls, and if youre here for anything other than that im just confused why because most other stories lack this games fundamental advantage of a very soft and lighthearted setting with low personal stakes. I dont need to see Trisha cry about losing the inn due to income disparity as the semen banks create a housing bubble or Mika try out for the analympics but irreversibly damage her legs in training arc and learn to rewalk. This can happen, but I really just want to hang out with fun and interesting personalities and designs and the game absolutely does that. Do I want more content for ever single girl in the game? Of course but I know it'll happen over time and If I really wanted to I could begin writing via mods myself.

Keep writing the fluff, its what Im here for. At most when I meet the Demon Queen Im gonna congratulate her on her successful peace policies, ask if she needs another member for her cabinet, and then return to the bar for work so I can afford enough wedding rings for all the girls one day.

I've been very happy to be able to contribute to that, and if I've been able to help build up the game and carry on making it something that people love to play and fap to, then consider me chuffed.

Personally, I love going around and exausting dialogue options with each character and searching for different reactions to every skill in combat and it takes less time than what you might think it would, I've been playing this game for years and still think it's peak in most things it tries to do, the characters and enemies are what weights the most on that opinion and they would not be the same without the ever expanding world. For an erotic game with that amount and variety of characters, I can't relate to nor see any reason for such sizeable rants (again, that's what I came to;) in my experience with the game thus far, I don't want to invalidate yours nor tell you not to express it).

All of that is to say that I am enjoying the direction the story is going and the progress in the gameplay mechanics and, although I do want more content for the other girls, I understand that that cannot be done with the same quality at a fast pace and with the city content taking center stage.

Many thanks for that! Since its beginnings, MGD has really grown to be a sizeable, cohesive, in-depth project, and it's impressive to look back on it and see what it has come to now... and always great to see people appreciate it and have so many good times with it.

Also thank you for checking out the game so exhaustively! Writing all those combat variants takes time, so it's always nice to know that they're read and enjoyed!

To be fair, the main points of your game and TLS are strangely similar, when you go "Wow, these smut game characters think, talk and act like actual people, not just fetish props". In both the fucking is well integrated in the world itself and in both the main enjoyment of the scenes comes from doing the deed with characters you actually find interesting and care about.

In case of MGD, however, arguments like "the lore, politics, ideologies and such don't count because they're optional" seem to come from a very weird position of "I can skip it and it wont have an impact on the gameplay or main story so it's practically not there". It is there though, and the fact you have to talk to Kotone or Sophia to find out more about the war or talk to Elly/Venefica to learn how magic actually works doesn't invalidate anything. I like the worldbuilding, it works, you go "Oh, so that's how it is, now it makes sense" every time you find out about like Ancilia's training or why Capital is so advanced, and it's satisfying to slowly map out the world even when you don't have to. It isn't even obscure really, any fromsoft game, while main focus is absolutely gameplay and mechanics, doesn't make much sense unless you actively try to piece together incomplete information and contradicting accounts, yet nobody argues that there isn't lore or politics there.

Pls keep writing this stuff, it's engaging, brings the whole setting alive and is really funny honestly
Fair! ... Well, I would by no means call MGD "my game". It's a game I'm contributing to, but only relatively recently. It's still very much Threshold's game, and they're the one who've been carrying it from the start.

But yeah, I definitely get your points about the TLS/MGD comparison. After all, heart boners are the best kind of boners, and it's always a nice feeling to be able to feel immersed in a game's story and lore.

I can't say I haven't thought of some of those gaps myself while playing but the game is still incomplete after all. What has been years for us with nothing revealed about say, the Black Knight, won't be all that long in comparison when it's actually in the game. I love (most of) the characters in the game and MGD is always high on my list of recommendations for anyone who does not dread reading more than a paragraph.

I doubt it is intended to have art for every single position and attack of every single monster. As of now it seems most monsters will get one CG that depicts their main attack/hold being used, with a few popular boss type monsters like Ceris getting a few more than others. If they really intend to give each monster 4-6 CG's, then it will be way over a decade at the current pace to get there. Out of all the things to make super slow progress on, this makes the absolute least sense to me, given that art is bought from different artists.

Good news is though, soon AI will likely be capable to do a comparable job, maybe that will speed things up, already seen some really good AI art that goes way past the usual Anything stuff.

Standing art is always the priority for characters, and as one of the other replies says the current intent is to get one ero CG per character minimum, and artist availability+number of characters an artist did can mean they have a lot to slowly get through over time.
Getting art for every stance and every scene a character can be in will not happen.

Good news is though, soon AI will likely be capable to do a comparable job, maybe that will speed things up, already seen some really good AI art that goes way past the usual Anything stuff.
I don't see Threshold implementing AI art into CGs. As this is primarily supposed to be a text game, I don't think the focus is going to be on CGs at all. I think it's fine how it is so far.
To clarify, MGD will never utilize AI art.

I really like how the art is handled in this game, having expressive faces is maybe the most important thing and they nail it. the stuff like position CGs is nice but secondary to good standing models and having them well synced with the dialogue.
Ye the expressions definitely help a lot with conveying a scene, and I'm happy to hear you appreciate it. : D

Though I won't deny there have been many growing pains, and hindsight things overtime for getting art of characters by artists that did their standing art, from lack of availability, to art styles changing over time like with Mistimagi. But the art does still look really good.

Quick question: do you think there is any chance you may add more secret techniques/attacks in the game? I was thinking after reaching a certain milestones, certain move could be unlocked through with specific characters that has strong affinity. For example: after finishing all the quest related to Venecia and Elly, you may unlock some "particular ero-spells" that add interesting effect to monster girls, and you could even tie those spells to the lore of the game (like forgotten,ancient or taboo that only the most powerful people get to know about like the nymph or sophia?)

-Maybe something related to specific parts of the body like butt, breast, or something unique like hypnosis or bdsm/pain techniques unlocked with specifics pair or group? Maybe Mika, Gren...Mizuko could help you with new butt/ass techniques; Kotone, Tabitha...perhaps someone else for hypno stuff; Belle, Vivian or Veneficia for a new breast perk; Amber, Shizu and Lillian (yes, Lillian!) for Bdsm/pain techniques or perks....etc...

Of course those are just example, as i am sure there are many others character that could create synergy for the mc to learn something new. But in the end, is it something you think may added to the games in the future?

Ps:Could you respond to those three unrelated questions, but still concern the world of Monster Girl Dreams:
-Do monster girls have particular beef with with another? I mean does certain species have great "rivalry" with other species like nymph and succubus for example?
-Since Elena was an ex-adventurer, does that she is acquainted with some of the monster girls we have meet in our adventure?
- Whose species or monster girl give the greatest blowjob ?assjob? (asking for a friend...)

1. Probably to some degree or another, but its not really something the game explores that much.
2. Elena was an Adventurer in Fertilia not Lucidia, so it's not likely.
3. I feel like that's subjective to personal bias. BJ would otherwise prolly be Amy.

How about special "weak point" skills for targeting particular girls? Like how Ancilla grabs a smile girl's core and instantly defeats her, more specific things than just "weak to anal". These would be cool, and being specific to one or two girls they shouldn't have the issue where they need an exponential number of dialogue lines for interaction with every girl.

There are actually some special win conditions in certain fights already I think. Like with Beris and Mika. Ushris also kinda counts, being an almost untouchable weirdo. Fei has a hidden phase skip as well.

I created a mod, and while I posted on the discord for initial testing I'll also throw it out here for people to try out and give feedback:


First serious delve into modding after poking at someone else's mod and experimenting with how much AI can help with the writing.

I went into this mod aiming to create enemy encounters that rival bosses in terms of complexity and quality, so a spent a fair amount of time thinking up mechanics that made the encounter and character interesting.

So behold the first encounter of the Zodiac mod, Vanesa, holder of the Bunny (Rabbit) Zodiac mark.
While I'm pretty exhausted from this start, If I continue this foray at a later date there are some design guidelines that I'll be trying to adhere to:
- Each character needs to represent one of the Zodiac marks in some way. This could be with physical characteristics, through their clothing, or through their personality.
- Each character has some main mechanic that is different than any other Zodiac.
- The mark they can apply to the player will interact with their main mechanic
- Marks apply some form of corruption on the player.
- They will get more moves if the player has the mark on them.
- There is some sort of outside-of-battle interaction with the player.
- Different Zodiacs will have different fetish focuses.

**Content Warnings**
This tag is here to warn you that some characters will be semi-furry, but no higher. This is not much different than existing characters in MGD, but the warning is here on the off chance this turns someone off.

AI art was used. Like... all of the art was AI. Some of it better than others (Standing art was the worst imo) but I tried my best to keep the art consistent with the other art. Let me know how well it worked out.

AI was used for some portion of the writing. Some parts I let AI do its work from my initial framework of placeholder descriptions of what's happening, other times I had to yank the wheel away and do all of it myself. Most of the time it was somewhere between the two with me poking and prodding the AI to make changes to what I did or me making changes to what the AI did.

I'll make a mini-journal comment on how this whole AI process went for those who are interested ... when I have time.

**Vanesa (Bunny Zodiac) Highlights**
  • Sees you as a meal (not vore, just sexually sees you as a meal)
  • Found in the Mystic Forest exploration.
  • Semi-Furry
  • Mind Corruption
  • Sex and Breast Smother focused (will also have one Blowjob move and one Titfuck move if the player is marked)
  • Mechanic: Will build up momentum if you let her. Once at max momentum she can pull off a finisher move.
  • Sex Scenes:
    • 1 out of combat scene (removing the mark)
    • 5 loss events
      • Default Sex scene if in no stance or sex stance.
      • Breast Smother Sex scene if in Breast Smother stance
      • One scene for each finisher move if you run out of spirit
    • 3 variations of post-sex scene depending on level of mark.

Bunny Zodiac is "done". I may revisit and polish it later (add a victory scene or two) but before I do that I'll be making a new character. This is not likely to happen within the month since I wont be able to dedicate nearly as much time, but I already have a firm idea of what the next character is going to be, how their mechanic will function, and how their interaction with the player will be.

Right now I'm just passively watching and squashing bugs as people report them.

I was introduced to Monstergirl Dreams by my boyfriend and I love it; it's just so warm in a way that many games forget to be because they're too focused on making everything be maximum horny. While I wish that you could play as a girl or futanari protag, I'm aware that it's never going to happen given that it'd pretty much double the amount of work to make the game. The idea of battle fuck mechanics was new to me, but MGD does it extremely well - the poses are hot and the girls are hot, and being trapped in a losing battle feels scary while also being excellent as something to get off to. I particularly recall my first encounter with a Mimic.

I'm shy enough that I don't play the game very often and thus haven't gotten very far, but having dipped my own toes into game development I can very vaguely start to grasp the titanic amount of work that's gone into it, and I'm very, very impressed. I'm glad the devs have gotten the support they deserve and are staying afloat, especially these days when eroge are hard to earn anything for.

Thanks a lot for developing, and I hope MGD keeps being awesome well into the future!

I've toyed with the idea of doing a fem mod for the game, I have a lot of time. Part of the issue is that unless I make it futa, I'd have to entirely change the battle system, which is probably past my abilities. So...might make it Futa.

But yeah, you've really nailed why MGD is a game I keep coming back to even as a male protag game. It's just a nice fucking setting, in a way that I see very rarely done. People should enjoy sex, come on. It helps that it's well written and battle system is interesting. That said, you're interesting. I like you.

Finally got around to playing the update for the apartments. I fucking hate puzzles so I'm glad I can slap the traps in the labyrinth instead. All the scenes are great I'm just not enthused by puzzles at all. hopefully the game can get back to the battlefuck core I actually enjoy, getting a bit sick of the minigames in the capital. Livewires and the fashionable succubus were great additions to that system at least. Cant wait for hypnotic dragon mommy to be fightable, or more Stella content. Also it goes to show the quality of the writing in this game when you have an update with gameplay that I despise but I still come out positive overall on it thanks to the lewd scenes it contains lmao.
