What was the big deal about this game anyway? When I played it looked like a buggy mess, long loading times and nothing much more that an average visual novel

Had hot 3d models, and original work too, compared to most others that just used that mediocre 3d model or just used koikatsu. that's what got me intersted at least. but the dev got delusions of grandeur and instead of focusing on the hot stuff he wasted time on lore and playing chinese games
there was another programmer a while back on this forum here who said some things which made me suspect redmez just gave up because it was too hard and he was getting money anyway

Honestly games exactly like this or why Patreon acts the way it does. It wasn’t all that long ago honestly, that Patreon which is flooded with so, so, so many 3d incest games that it was ridiculous and they were all exactly the same thing. You play as a young guy usually a teenager or shota if you prefer. Do you have a mom and a sister? Or maybe you have a cousin? Or maybe all of the above? Doesn’t matter.
The point is you had that for the game. It got released and in the first few builds, everything is great! Plenty of Content , teasing and relationship building. Very strong starts to get people invested but right after that suddenly the content will slow to crawl. Suddenly, every build is more releasing like one scene. And it’s paired with a bunch of conversations or spying.
Which is clearly padding. And month to month you got these really nothing scenes. That were clearly just made to the pad the game out. And it will go on for months like this.
Patreon noticed this, because so many games were doing this. And it was clear that they were milking or scamming people. It’s really no surprise that when they cracked down and establish rules that you can’t make games like that pretty much all these games have the same reaction.
The developer threw in the towel instantly, didn’t even try to re-tool it, and released everything they had left, and it was usually a whole lot of seems that they clearly had known for a long time, just by saying otherwise.
Patreon was absolutely swamped with these things. Because so many people were total scum bags and grifters.
Then we come to this game where it’s very clear he basically was trying to be exactly that but using monster girls instead. And he was getting away with it for a long time at least until Patreon started asking questions no doubt.
I highly doubt they want to make any creative control over this game. But I am willing to bet, they were basically asking him to actually start releasing Content and new builds with actual scenes and meat to them that people were paying for and he didn’t wanna do that. Or maybe they were actually asking to see what he was working on and he didn’t have anything to show.

I'm not defending MGI cause I honestly don't think it will ever come out either, but so much of this is just completely wrong.
Patreon doesn't give a damn if a game is a scam, they're still getting a cut either way. This isn't kickstarter where you exchange money for a promise of a product and therefore have to deliver on that product, Patreon is for throwing money at a person to support them (to be a "patreon" of them, hence the name) whether or not you get anything back is entirely up to them.
And I have no idea how you seem to have gotten the idea that Patreon banned incest games because they were scams, that's a massive over generalization and one of the weirdest takes I've seen on here. Patreon banned incest games because it's illegal in most places and paypal/credit card companies don't like it when they're used for illegal things.

Since the project began, Redamz has accumulated $37,142 a month on Patreon to continue creating the game, ultimately earning him $445,704 per year (and counting). It’s not unreasonable to think that even outside of the money he’s using to develop the game, he’s making quite a bit of bank for himself in the process.

I love this kind of statement, he's not a big company that has expenses on materials and employees. He's a dude that I'm almost sure made everything himself (using unity and blender which are both free), so the only thing it cost him was time. In other words he made 100% profits.

hey I just noticed this, but is anyone else confused by the preview images on the OP? like why is the first pic censored? Why are there pics of the beta builds?
Ok but I don't care about games with hyper realistic character designs till the point of it being uncanny. Not gonna sugarcoat it but all the girls I've seen from this developer makes my dick deflate like a balloon. Might as well just fire up pornhub.

The progress of the game was a bit over 1 chapter a year. The planned length of the game was about 9~ish chapters. Dev was clearly working chapter 5, then patreon removed him (which i totally belive in, patreon has had more than a few random crusades). From his last patreon post Dev showed not only a dislike for patreon but for crowdfunding and early access content as a whole " I don't wanna rely on crowdfunding ever again...", "I can work much more efficiently if I don't have to show constant progress...". If he were 100% serious about his comments he would eventually even keep their discord in the dark about updates, since it is true that early access and making stuff just to present does technically slow down the development progress.
Now with all this said. Lets assume that his now more efficient work schedule allowed them to finish chapter 5 on June despite the 3 month break (keeping that 1 chapter a year speed). So from there to 2022 he worked on chapter 6, and now on 2023 should be finishing chapter 7. Even if the patreon and the updates kept on going the game would not be finishewd by now.
Therefore i conclude my essay by proclaiming that the full game will be released on December 2025.

Don't justify them by calling them "realistic" they just look like dog shit, if you can't make a detailed 3D female model look good just make anime girls that simple.

No those are earlier outdated builds. 0.44.3 Has everything except the Halloween special, unfinished VR build and the Neko and twins sex demos.
