That's just the thing now, given how he appears to nonchalantly go through thousands of years and comes back seemingly the same as ever... either he is actually acting in those scenes for some role-play reason, or losing does something to the mentality or brain of men that get beaten. I'm leaning towards the latter in this case, because Luka in Paradox has done a terrible job of acting with a base-line level of humanity that I'd come to expect from... well, humanity in general. This was the case especially when the time for the Great Decision came up and he just stood around debating between the two preposterously awful choices of which kind of slavery you must commit to in order to unlock the third option. You don't get the choice to look at Hell World and Angel World and go, 'No, fuck all of you, I'd rather everything dies right now and be reduced to formless primordial chaos than persist in that atrocity they call an existence for people.' Make it lead to an instant Game Over even, but just the presence of such a choice would at least show in some way that Luka considers the choices in front of him to be inhumane enough to warrant thinking about just not accepting them.

What it really comes down to that Luka is barely human, something that I've kind of always felt about him even in the OG MGQ, and the more I progressed through Paradox and getting the summary of how it ends slowly solidifies that stance. His mentality is far more in line with angels if anything, especially considering his perspective on the passage of time is similar to them with how easily he brushes off going through thousands of years without it having seemingly any effect on his personality whatsoever. I'm not saying this as a mark against the story's quality, but... I mean, it always comes back to the same thing for OG MGQ and all of Paradox for me:

I have a frustratingly large amount of questions and barely any answers to properly perceive what it even means to live in that world, whether it's as a human, monster, angel or a FUCKING UNDEAD (seriously, what the fuck is their undead existence like and why is there no consistency about them as entities, are they happy, tormented, suffering, blissfully ignorant?!). And I can't even begin to answer anything like that before the thought process runs into a contradiction or plot hole or parody element that intersects with the central story in such a way that it makes you wonder what is and isn't actually meant to be taken seriously anymore, because the parody or joke elements are sometimes actually intertwined with relevant parts of the plot without which the story couldn't progress.

... I really should stop here, I'm getting recursively more wound up over this than necessary over questions that will probably never be adequately answered, I just think that for what the story and world were, it feels like it had a chance to be so much more than what we were given.
You could always try to contact Torotoro and ask.

If I could, I don't know if any of that would've been what I'd ask, those questions just generated from spinning off on a tangent about who and what Luka is as a person. What's there is a fraction of the things that kill my ability to properly formulate a fleshed out idea about the world and life in it is actually like on a day-to-day basis without the ultra-powerful, infinite attempts hero there to bail people out or getting caught up in a lead up to or culmination of some grand plot or conspiracy.

The only answer that could make most questions I have make sense without retroactively rewriting large swathes of the story is that everything takes place in Warhammer 40k on a Slaaneshi Chaos planet.

Oh wow dont know how i didn't get a notif for this anyways

Are you my lost twin brother perhaps? Cause we're thinking and saying the same thing :KEK:

I agree with you in principle that this completely, this would completely fit and explain luka's utterly non chalant behavior and utter lack of humaness. However. as you said, we're thinking too much about it. THe narrative reason why luka seems to not give a shit is becauses his character took a backseat, TT just decided to give him less character for the viewer to self insert easier, or simply because people hated luka that much in mgq, (i am named people). Though the latter point is kind of unlikely since people practically love luka, fans of the game i mean, im just a hate player who the sunk cost fallacy has a 50 kg weight tied to his balls.

Now i can't say that og luka is equally on the same level and mgq luka, not in terms of comparisons, but that the premise that luka is a millenia old monster who's experienced things worse than most beings if ALL beings in the mgq universe just doesnt fit here like it does in mgqp.

The undead aren't that weird, they're just a natural conssequence of the power system. Since there is no undead ancestor they arent a part of the monster faction, however they are much closer to them than they are to the angel faction. Common fantasy tropes apply here, dark magic (or the power of dark) is always some necromancy and undead raising stuff, while light magic is complete ressurection, chrome herself is a part of the monster faction so she's far more likely ot be using the power of dark to raisse the dead of monster girls or humans (though she hadn't done the latter) which leads into their exisstence.

Kind of got me curious what you meant here, and checked back a bunch of pages in this forum. I've been on the MGQ reddit, I've checked the forums, yet somehow I completely missed my online spirit animal for MGQ. Well nice to meet you!

I have mixed feelings about... everyone in MGQ. The positive aspect of the mix comes from the storybeats that are kind of serious, tragic, uplifting and so on like Luka and Lazarus confrontation and the aftermath with Alice... until Alice immediately raped him after and I shut the game off for the rest of the day because jesus fucking christ woman. The negative aspect of the mix is... everyone, universally, is just so god damned retarded. Like really, really retarded that it is incredibly difficult to sympathize with anyone. Luka and Alice act as lightning rods for that since their retardedness is on full display because they're the main characters throughout the game.

Now i can't say that og luka is equally on the same level and mgq luka, not in terms of comparisons, but that the premise that luka is a millenia old monster who's experienced things worse than most beings if ALL beings in the mgq universe just doesnt fit here like it does in mgqp.
Fully on board with you there, the evaluation thing never even approached the realm of being an actual plot element in the OG for me. They were just a tool for the player's convenience, not an actual in-game element of the plot, so OG Luka's character, while retarded, is relatively intact in the setting. MGQP Luka though? Monster, 100%. Not monster as in being like the monster girls, I mean the classical sense of the word 'monster.' I pretty much settled on that stance by the time the Great Decision happened.

The undead aren't that weird, they're just a natural conssequence of the power system. I'm approaching this topic more on the stance of what it means in terms of what it does to you as a living, thinking, individual to go from alive, to corpse, to undead. Because somewhere in that process, the living person is not the undead one, neither in form nor personality. It's a twisted, warped version of them and I don't know if that means that their soul moved on and it's just magic puppeting a body or if they are spiritually trapped in a corpse. Would you care if it happened to you, your loved one, your pal, buddy, neighbor or that it is happening at all? That's not even touching on the Necromancer that's doing this for whatever reason either, but the answers are kind of all over the place. That's kind of what I meant when I say don't know what it really means to persist in the world as an Undead entity. If you were Undead, are you really even you, and would anyone alive have wanted to be brought back as an animated corpse? I know what the zombie prefers after it has already been zombified, but I don't think anyone really wants that. Picture Luka coming across Chrome having reanimated the dead body of his mom for instance.

And that's not even touching how Undead intersect with what the afterlife even is, since it the setting does say it has reincarnation, but also has a heaven (angels), followed by another heaven beyond that heaven (wherever Lucifina and Marcellus are).

Make your choice between fresh instal of 3.01 with trad of 2+demo on the top or my link with added Mtool+machine translation file+save+mod
You are an absolute saint. Thank you kindly.

Does anyone here know a site or anyway to safely extract a rather large file without endangering the storage of my phone? All the while of not having a computer? ^^;

Do equipment passives work if on members in reserve like passive abilities do?

Depending on your phone, I guess you could do it on external storage and damage that. I'm guessing you're worried about read/writes lowering the life of your phone's internal storage? Unless you have an incredibly old phone or do stuff like this a ton, it shouldn't be an issue.

You were working on an older version.

Here's a link to the optimized version with issues mentionned above already fixed: Google Drive

If you want to modify it, that's fine. But don't mess with the line order please, you're making it way harder on yourself for future updates.
Okay great, but the link was nowhere to be found in the thread, why?
Also I never changed any line order
