Exactly. Like I said, I know people really like the story and consider it better than that of most pron games, but I think people also try to dissect it as some kind of fantasy masterpiece when it isn't even close. It's still just a porn game, and it never really takes itself all that seriously even though the underlying themes are more formal. I mean, we're talking about silliness like a world were random sometimes non-nonsensical looking monster girls prey on humans with... sex.I think part of my perspective about Luka's seeming lack of care for humans in the OG is based on how his approach is surface level when it comes to places where monsters and humans are integrated together after a conflict. The two most notable cases are Harpy and Succubus villages, and what you've stated about MGQ not being serious comes into play big time for the resolution of those conflicts. It's 'the guys are horny and okay with all of it' and Luka just goes 'Yep, my work here is done.'
Yeah, it sure is buddy, no wonder the epilogues have the potential for you to get turned into a gang rape slave by the monsters there, you practically encouraged it with how you handled the outcome. The guys in Harpy village totally weren't Stockholm-Syndromed after days of being kidnapped sex slaves, and the succubus draining all the men in town felt really good so what's the harm? Not like there's something likeYou must be registered to see the linksin the world to explain how physically and mentally fucked men get after being raped, nope not at all.
I've never replayed the original MGQ, never saw a reason to, but if for whatever reason I did, I'd skip those two locations and leave them to get stomped to dust by the end of the story. If the guys there don't give a fuck about what the monsters do to them, then neither will I.
Even so, it doesn't take away from the surface-level messaging of the game which is all it really cares about. This is one of this silly things like "why do people die in Final Fantasy when revive and phoenix downs exist." It's also obvious you can have sex with monsters/angels and be fine afterward, who knows how the specific mechanics work as again the game doesn't delve all that deep into its themes. But for example a lot of the guys in paradox's harpy town were willing, and I'm pretty sure critical ecstasy only applies when the plot wants it to.
tl;dr too many people keep forgetting this and MGQ are still just porn games that never took themselves too seriously and never seemed to suggest they were interested in more than their surface-level themes. You're not going to find a complex tale about nuanced morality here, folks...
