It doesn't really need that at all (and as far as I know it wouldn't even be very useful? My understanding is that LoC stuff isn't even useable in part 3 until you've finished the game already). Mostly it just needs you to pay attention to gems/equipment and focus on min-maxing your characters (min-maxing in the literal sense, not in the sense of just grinding more, I mean in the sense of having characters that are specifically designed to perform 1 and only 1 role - don't try to make your attackers tank hits and don't try to make your tanks deal damage).Looking at the chaos route stats really made me think the game expected you to have made it to the deep LoC and be competent there.
I'd say the biggest failing of part 3 is that.. even though there are countless skills in the game.. 99% of the skills are basically irrelevant, either because they're just outright worthless or because the benefit they give is so marginal that it's not worth caring about when it's so easy to multiply your health/damage by thousands by just using better passive abilities/equipment/gems, and that even goes for a lot of the skills that sound super broken at first glance. You can get some minor optimizations by using better skills, but nearly everything is determined by how high your stats are and some passive abilities. There is strategy in the game, but you do not strategize during fights, only outside of fights.
