Thanks to yoloswagking, I managed to finish the game, I can now move onto something else.
The gameplay was so bad it attracted all of the flak from the comment section, distracting us from the real unforgivable heresy:

no it's good. Better to play with a fully human translated version of part 1-2 than a merged content from these part inside a part 3 game.
So yeah wait until the game ask you to upgrade before picking one of the up to date version of part 3. (we are on 3.04 at the moment).
Probably a good idea to do the collab scenario before upgrading to a part 3 game because I'm not sure you can do them before ending the game if you go on part 3. And some collab monster are pretty powerfull and useful for the 2 starting path of part 3. (the nightmare succubus Est is immune to physical dmg and has 2 action/turn.)
At some point early on in part 3, I was able to go into a portal in Grand Noah to do something relating to the collab. But I don't think it was tied to recruiting the characters.
After finishing part 3, I can no longer find that portal, and I don't see any way to recruit the collab characters.
Not that I particularly mind.

you need to have a game version 2.41+demo or part 3 before you can access this tower.

Just noticed I was missing my beta and delta souls and on checking Alicetroemeria and Heinrich on my pre choice save file they changed their items to talismans. looking into this more its wild that they replaced eden's item with a 30% boost to all and illias has a 50% boost to all with 2 gem slots. Like these are legit mid game items I wish I could have illias' item right now but I'm on alice route. Only issue I have with eden's item is its best for jack of all trades type characters and I can't really think of any I would use. I would much rather stack 1 stat and boost it by 50 rather than boosting all stats by 30.

Unless it was called something else, I tend to refer to their world as Earth, but I'm basing this solely on circumstantial text that I remember the word Earth being capitalized as a proper noun whenever characters talk about harnessing the power of Earth from characters like Tomamo or Gnome or how Himiko is referenced as an Earth Mother.
I know people worked on it with their own hands, but most of the text was translated with GPT. I'm not complaining about it or anything. Bob and the others have done a very good job, correcting it and fixing bugs, turning it playable

What did you mean outdated ? Just update it. And if you are using mtool that's probably the reason for most crash. I never had a crash with the thing you pointed using the bob translation only.
