I don't know if this has been said yet, but, has anyone else noticed Shu and Jess have the exact same necklace, earing and thier hair is way to similar.

Yes, they have similar cross-shaped necklace and earring. The significance of that is not yet revealed as far as I know. As for the hair, Shu's is white, Jess's is gray. The known association between them is that Shu's father Diego runs the clan-hotel Meridian. And Jess is the intelligence officer of said clan (see Sicae).

I was more wondering if Shu is an actual male. Well that and the jewelry kind of had me asking questions. lol. I mean if I am not mistaken on the beach Shu asks the MC "Have you ever seen my body?" To which the answer was no. That being said in some outfits Shu wears it seems like there itty bitty bumps there. So given the necklace, earring and similar hair I started asking myself just how close Shu is to all this and is Shu really a guy...ya know

June, his ex-girlfriend, haven't mentioned Shu having unexpected naughty bits at least.

The protagonist does say in a conversation before heading to the island that "the creator may have intended Shu to be female, but forgot about it and gave him a dick instead". And of course other characters such as Klara and Naomi have expressed doubts about him being a man at all, or the time when Shu jumps by accident on a hot pool left on overnight by Gwen's father Glenn and screams in agony and angrily "I'm. A. Guy!" after he calls her miss.

This was posted on Illusion's twitter account (I found that first mentioned in the Eternum thread). Seems the company that created HS and Koikatsu is shutting down its operations by next August 18th (Japan time). Wonder how much this could affect this ongoing project.
This is their Steam announcement. Just passing the (unfortunate) message.
Shouldn't affect it at all, just means we won't be getting new illusion engines in the future. HS2 and its equivalents and KKS will be the last versions we get.
Mods still did most of the heavy lifting anyway for both of them.
Too bad though

It's NiiChan's deciding that he wants to traumatize his entire audience. Apparently it wasn't enough for him to have the mom die of cancer, but to also leave Emma heartbroken after falling in love with Kei only for him to disappear and not recognize her.
Emma's solo ending hits you just as hard. All I can say is prepare yourself for the waterworks.

I started the game yesterday and damn, this was not what I expected.
And I mean that in a very good way. Haven't even finished everything yet but just had to come here to ask: how often, if one were to estimate, does this game get updates? Also, how far along it's development is it in? About halfway done? More? Close to finished? Barely begun?
Last question - I've already finished chapter 5 that tells the story of a certain character. I see in the OP that there's a different download link to the main game. Is that something different or just playing the main game (as I have) will get me the content of the game in full?

Its the same version, you can end it earlier ending the game together with the certain character you mentioned and get a ending with her together OR you add her to the harem instead and continue the normal story.
It's just at the beginning of the main-story but the prologue was HUGE and a lot of content already.
Follow-up to my previous post.
I'll preface this by saying I'm not a fan of incest. It doesn't make me nope out of a game, but I tend to dislike it, especially in relation to parents. Siblings too, but less. "Steps" are okay-ish, barely. That's for ME, my opinion and preferences, and whoever reads this may agree or disagree to varying levels.
I say this because I feel very disappointed at the how the forced incest was implemented in the game. Anyone with more than 2 braincells can tell what is the canon descriptors for Klara, Sky and "the one" that prompts during Hera's revelations. In retrospect, it appears, indirectly, in a previous line of Hera's as well, though I can't recall exactly when it happens as I'm writing this. It was, however, a moment in which the actual revelation was still "up in the air" and not yet set in stone as far as information that is presented to the reader/player.
When the game started and I was prompted to select what kind of bonds the characters had with each other, I thought this would be taken into consideration a lot more carefully. If it was never a choice to begin with, or if the default choices were the "correct" ones, I'd have a lot less issues with it. Now I just feel... cheated, I guess.
Initially I had put the bonds as "childhood friend" and "guardian" for Sky and Klara (and the MC being Klara's ward). Even if I changed to "cousin" and "aunt" it doesn't work. Now the continuity of the story is a complete mess and if I don't change the relations, it'll create a massive unintentional plot-hole. I feel very disappointed.
Nevermind the quality of the story as a whole, which is pretty good, mind. And I understand that the whole "choose your relation" thing was probably made because of Patreon rules. My point is that if you are going to make it so that people select and even write-in themselves the relation between characters, then don't make it so that the story breaks if you choose anything other than what it should truly be.
This could have easily been remedied by simply not making Klara such an important character to Hera and the MC (and inextricably linked to the MC since the pregnancy was clearly stated, as well as who it was with), and instead another (possibly dead) character be that, and she coming in to take responsibility for said character.
I still enjoy the game and think it's really great, and will continue to follow the story, but I expected more from the writing and really wish this was handled better. I have now changed all titles to what they should correctly be, as much as it displeases me.
As a side note, simply accepting the default "roomate", "landlady" and... "the other one" makes the story really stupid. That would be okay if it was an inferior, braindead story with no depth, but is really out of place in this one, given the storytelling present in it.

That's literally how every fill in the blank relationship works. What you're asking for requires a flag based approach to an incest patch, arguably goes against Patreon's rules because the incest script remains in the base game, and makes way more work for the dev for a path that the vast majority of players won't play.
If you dislike incest that much then set the relations correctly and don't romance the family members. You usually can't haver your cake and eat it too with this stuff.
And then cheapen the script for the majority of players who either don't care about fictional incest, or even actively enjoy it.
This is to be expected from a game tagged with incest. Incest is almost universally the canon path for such games.
