Why does the running game not open when I close it and open it again?

One thing you could check is whether the game isn't somehow still running in the background via Task Manager. If so, end the process, then try to start again.

Try to delete the install directory and install the game again. Before you start the game you should also delete the persistent file in %AppData%\RenPy\MCR2_1 or %AppData%\RenPy\MCR2. As long as you don't delete the .save files, you won't lose you saves.

Not a bad suggestion. Though for most Ren'Py games (I believe true for this game as well) your gallery unlocks (and sometimes other stuff) are stored in the persistent file, so you're gonna lose that.

You can win with your base stats, but barely. Took me a couple of tries (after figuring out the rules).
I don't think it matters whether you win or lose (you can come back to try again I believe). If you can't win, get your boxing lessons first.

Had the same issue,
to get around it I copied the "MCR2" Application from v12
and use it to replaced the one in V13,
game now starts fine.

The answer was given some post back. You need to delete all of the info of the game in the folder of Renpy:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\RenPy

After that the game will run.

While I certainly thank you ( and yeah, I failed to search well enough... Sorry guys! I know that's annoying af ), I'm actually trying to run this on my tablet with joiplay. I don't know of an app data folder on this device like my old computer had, so, still, I'm hoping for a v12 application upload to see if that might work. I appreciate it, though.
