That pool picture won't work (its intentional) and if you would have read the writing you'd know this (no, you haven't blackmailed Barb, you were told you've to find another way) so keep playing, find another solution.

Progress with your roommate, unlock her office, figure out that the director there is Barb's mom, help out roommate with the red folder and you will have the chance to spy on director and Dick. THAT evidence will convince Barb.

Untill you don't have solid evidence on your hand you have no reason to knock on their door -> they have no reason to answer. You gotta get that vid of Dick&Director. BEFORE handing it over the director herself because she will make you delete it. So play smart.

Start red folder quest, search Dick's laptop and it will unlock Director's Bedroom. Send drone at night, every hour until scene triggers.
