The image name not showing (upper left corner, in red) starts with c18, c19, or anything below c20?
Your save isn't from the last chapter of Season 2. You should play Season 2 almost until the end (the DnD game should have started) to be able to load the game in Season 3 and see the images. The last chapter images were included to avoid this problem with people who saved mid 0.20, but if the save is from the pool party, for example, it won't show the images.

Pretty sure "they" did not. A one-time event (how S1 transitioned to S2 in this AVN) is never the basis for an "expectation." Even the most simple line requires 2 data points, and even then no statistician would take 2 points and automatically assume that a third point would fall perfectly in line with the previous 2. Expectations arise from false assumptions made by users. The progression of AVNs is probably much closer to being a chaotic system (maybe even stochasitic) than a deterministic one, so if one sees something happen once in an AVN update it is only going to cause frustration to expect every update in the future to be exactly the same.
Whilst I'm not arguing with your statements about statistics, there are way more than just 1 datapoint. After all, this isn't the only VN around. And whilst the process is far form uniform, explicitly stating the end of a Season is quite common and not at all an unreasonable assumption from a game which has itself done so in the past.

While it's true that a single line requires two data points, and statisticians are cautious with limited data, the statement 'expectations arise from false assumptions' is overly simplistic and axiomatically false. Expectations can be based on accurate information and well-founded assumptions. It's essential to consider the context and underlying data quality before making such broad generalizations. ;)

In any case, it's no big deal. It was unclear, I asked, it got clarified. Fun talk, have a nice wank.

Considering that "Learning from Experience" is a de facto use of assumptions and extrapolation, neither of you is wrong. Or both are.

The thing is, the method used in going from Season 1 to Season 2, proved itself unreliable and needed too much user caution. We all know that relying on people doing what they're told, is a recipe for trouble. So, the process was simplified and removed a LOT of user caution. Not all of it, unfortunately.

Expecting it to work on the second interaction as it did on the first, is a reasonable assumption.

BUT.

Expecting no evolution or improvement is not. The only Universal Constant is Change. Adaptation and Learning from Experience, the basis of Humanity overwhelming success, are not in conflict, they are concurrent methods.

Expect Change. Assume Change. Adapt, Learn, Overcome.

Oh absolutely. It's very understandable from a developer's perspective and it wasn't a problem for me at all. I'm fairly laid back about life in general. That's why my interaction started with inquisition. There was some conflicting information. On the one hand the message at the end of the season, on the other hand the very existence of a third season. So rather than make assumptions, I just asked. And was answered in short order.

But whenever someone very enthusiastic about knowledge and the rational method is inaccurate in their address, I would feel remiss not to help them out.

My computer that originally had the saves that I could continue from became obsolete where I couldn't transfer it. I know I can play from 2nd season and continue but that is a lot of time.
Ctrl or Tab, makes it a breeze. The whole thing takes less than 5 minutes. Then, you also have the in-game switches that let's you fix or change any of the decisions...

If you were to answer those questions, you'd take the same time.

So, what is REALLY your problem with speed forward to the end of Season 2, in order to make a valid save? Time? Effort? Patience? Any of those are denied by the fact that it would take longer, take more effort and be a lot more boring than the method I point out.

It would also cause more work, for no reason at all... so... I dunno... Breadsticks? Something to chew on while waiting?

Peace

Didn't say problem just a wish. That was all. Thanks.
