Everyone has their own choice. Most play incest as well as without incest. Trope did a great job for those who want to play without a patch and with a patch, there is no such thing as <canon>.

I thought that the dev has nothing to do with the incest patch, because it's just a MOD by someone else

The patch just enables it, you still need to actually activate it though. On the main menu screen, bottom left, there should be a button that says "Clones" - click it and it will change to "Family", which means the patch is activated.

Just select in the settings instead of "clone" to "family". As far as I went through My Dorm, the patch was not needed because it is there anyway and it is enough to press instead of clone to family and the game will automatically activate the patch

I don't see it without the patch installed, if it's just a MOD made by someone then I rather not play with it, I still prefer the intended relationship, I only play incest game if it's the story intended by the DEV but due to patreon rules, forced to make a stupid relationship like landlady, roommates that don't make sense, etc

thanks for the help guys, I understood that it wasn't supposed to be like this so apparently it was bugged or something (or I simply did something wrong idk). Reinstalled the game again and now it works

I mean, my v0.22 game folder has 25 items in it, including those two... How goes your game play with no files?

The patch is done by me (the dev) but published by another player because Patreon forced me to retire the patch from this site.
If you look at the content of the patch it's only a file changing a variable (or even an empty txt file). The code for the incest/non-incest versions is in the base game as two legit alternatives to play the game.

But... if the patch and switch is in a box, then it would be Schrödinger's Patch/Switch, and would simultaneously exist and not exist, and would also simultaneously be toggled to Family and Clone...

In case you're wondering why other people were being cagey about it, there's many other devs that have "unofficial" incest patches but prefer not to be tied to them in any way, even on F95. So fans avoid saying it's an official patch even if it's a "wink wink nudge nudge" situation. Trope doesn't seem to care though here.
