didn't Charles Darwin write about the Ill effects of smoking tobacco & drinking alcohol ? (early 1800's)
(remember, you could be 12 years old and buy morphine or cocaine in the drug store in the 1800's)
but he wrote about the dangers of tobacco & alcohol.......
