We're only a few days short of a full year since the last update, which also is the day that this thread was created.

Yes to the first, no to the second. This thread was started on August 29th, 2022. All of the comments following the first post are also directly following that date. It's even the first numerical signage on ever thread, although it is in admittedly small font.

If the earlier screenshots are anything to go by... no. However the release date of the next update is not known or as far as I can tell disclosed. You can learn more about how things are going by supporting the patreon and joining their discord. I hope that answers your question.

Did you just recommed they give money to find out why the game update is months past a reasonable time? interesting take. brave take.

In fairness to your complaint, it's been over a year since 0.1.3 has been made available. Checking the Patreon page, the last dev log was back in December. There's a lot coming and the most that can be asked is to be just a little more patient. I don't think tossing $2 to the devs is too much of an ask. At least considering just how much is available in 0.1.3 with probably a huge update coming next. Though I'm not too sure if it'll be called 1.4 or something higher. At least I think from what I've seen thus far... it's going to be better balanced. Granted it may be a bit of a kick in the teeth as you'll be starting all over again, I just hope the pace is a bit better in regards to gameplay. Especially considering how tedious and grindy attempting to progress and not knowing what to do as it is currently.
