As I mentioned - there is a good chance that cigarette smoking man is cigarette smoking Marcel. And surely this scene is connected to the purple night.

Which is interesting in general - because it would, in theory, appear in Part 3 - in which we have Hutch as the lead character. Unless SC will give us such a twist - Hutch and Vi will come to this place completely independently of each other and in completely different roles ;) and then the CSM would be Hutch. But still, I bet on Marcel or someone else.

or this:

Chris's car registration - is MD-43 ; MD -43 is Maryland Route 43 (Baltimore) or.... kind of Sushi sauce (technical name). Whether it has any meaning - I have no idea, but other car registrations are absent*. And this one is. And you can see it in the picture when they go to the Oriental (sushi) restaurant.

easter eggs ? or somthin more

*white car - Decker

yes, exacly

But still, it seems that Purple Night will be very important. without Hutch ? And it will be a long scene.... From evening to morning (or maybe even school). Unless it's not part 3 but part 4. Marcel's issue as CigSmoMarcel - that would explain the boy's room later. That is, the sequence of events - Chris sends her to a client, there something turns out that Vi doesn't like, she looks for a way out - and here again a Knight on a White Horse (that is, er, black on a jaguar - a beautiful parallel) appears and drives her to safety place (his apartment? )

?????
Because he is black he is automatically a drug dealer ? Can't he have rich parents ? Blacks can't be business men ? Physicians ? Politicians ? Lawyers ?...
Maybe what I said did sound racist. Marcel is not automatically a drug dealer. Wife knows Marcel from school. Which means she probably knows his parents, or of them from other teachers if they are well off.

The point is that Marcel is not acting pampered (rich kid). He is acting mature for his age. And wife is not. She is not acting like somebody who can manage a room full of teenagers. She is acting pleading.... broken.

So, where is Marcel getting the cash to drive a Jag. You figure it out.

Wife. SC is being real about her. Young guys are either whistling and grabbing at her, or if they are a little older, distinctly not interested. She doesn't have the gravitas to attracter mature males. She is right about herself when she says she doesn't know how to cheat. Which means that boss's interest in her is probably not about the sex. He says, as long as I own you I will fuck you as I please. "As long as I own you". How long? Boss does have something in mind. Simply a luxury escort? I bet more than that. His behavior is more like a pimp turning a normal woman to be a whore. Which is what that escort thing was all about. His questions later say the same. How did it make you feel? Did you like it?

Now, what do you want from me?, boss asks. I want you to love me, she says.

then maybe instead of creating (again) some offbeat stories without coverage, we'll acknowledge that (at least for now) he has wealthy parents

Then why does he behave maturely instead of like a pampered child? Pampering does not foster maturity.

Because he is well-raised. and not spoiled. Plus, a Jaguar is not a sign of exceptional wealth. It's a car priced in the same class as the Audi Vi.

70 thou Canadian. Not 300-500 thou. You are right, not in the high end. Still for most people, and a kid in high school, out of reach. I guess I think that car is a sign of pampering. A well off disciplining parent might go for a used Ford. You can have something better when you can pay for it yourself. Now start studying. And less of that running around with your pals shooting hoops. I don't want to see you in the streets. Tell your friend he can come play in the court in our back yard on Saturdays. That would be discipline.

Where do you see in the scene that he behaves "maturely" ? It's Vivian who acts air-headed, she does all the talking, she digs herself her own hole. Marcel has nothing to do or say.
You're building your own theories, and you're forcing the facts to fit them...

He rescues her from his pal who wants to grab a grope her. He takes her home. He doesn't have much to say because he is wondering what to think of her. See through dress? No wedding ring? When she gives him her phone number, that seals it, he is out of there.

if he’s the basketball star of the school he could have colleges or pro scouts and agents trying to recruit him with full scholarship and board and they usually throw in a fancy sports car. It’s supposed to be illegal but they can get around it by having the car in the agents name

That's interesting. So is he the basketball star of the high school? Is he 7 feet tall?

What happened to the developer? Didn't he use to post regularly? Also why all the hostility from the different sexes here none of this is real. Without being dramatic I'd recommend some of you take a break from your usual Internet habits they are clearly brainwashing you to the point where you're assuming regular women are those cam girls and strippers who appear on those podcasts hosted by Virgins pretending to be sex guru's.

Also whatever name you want to call Vivian she is 100% an escort, prostitute, whore, skank, slag, woman of the night, or whatever vulgar/polite term you want to call a woman or man who takes money for sex this is clearly one of elements to the story but most importantly she isn't real and shouldn't cause you to associate her with real women, just like Christian or Hutch shouldn't be associated with real men. These are fictional characters whose creator had a storyline figured out before he or she released chapter 1.

There's probably real world comparisons(although more likely it's coming from movies like indecent proposal, or that one movie with the black lady suffering from undiagnosed sex addiction and cheats on her husband and tried killing herself when he found out and called her a "Whore"), but you aren't going to change any rational minded person's thoughts or opinions on real life through arguing on the forum of My Husband's Boss, because it's not rational to think fictional characters need to be debated over to this extent as a proxy for your political ideology or failed past relationships.

Stop taking these interactive novels so serious and just enjoy the story or move along if it's affecting to the point of anger or rage. I'm certain nobody is actually signaling out posters on here when they post their thoughts or ideas about the story. Not every single thing has to be an ideological war about women and men.
It's good that the dev doesn't interact regularly with this thread. They don't need toxic bullshit from some of the users here since it's known that the loudest who were spreading negativity, harassed and doxxed Devs before.
