In this VN the most real world thing is why Vivian lost respect for Hutch. Men are classified as leaders, conquers, strong, dominate, ambitious. Does Hutch have any of these characteristics. Christian pointed it out at the dinner. Christian imbodied those characteristics that's what women want. It was said in the thread Vivian treated Hutch like a child not a husband or a man. That falls on Hutch.

I don't think Hutch was a special leader type like Christian. He had other characteristics that Vivian found interesting. I think something else happened before the story with Christian as to why they lost respect.

Yes I think Hutch and Vivian both show symptoms of empty nest syndrome (Sawyer). I think that's one of the reasons she treats Hutch like a child.
this can also be interpreted as a lack of respect in a partnership.

How they do that I'll tell you.

What they do their story

You see, the main GOAL of any game when it comes to visual novels is the STORY.

So what most DEVELOPERS do...They rush with the story they skip and kill all the important attributes their game contains. Just to reach out and unfold the story fast so they can bring out and present the SEX SCENE.

And they present the SEX SCENE in such a way that actually kill many important attributes in just that one moment...And the more attributes is killed and extinguished on the way of SEX SCENES...The game slowly starts to fade and it becomes less and less interesting due to the lack of attributes that STORY used to have as a primary foundation content.

Let me give you an example:

If Voyeurism is added as one of the attribute in the game STORY. Voyeurism is mostly consider someone who secretly spying on others having sex... it's not entirely BUT mostly. So the Hutch-(Husband) He was actually engaging in Voyeurism activity (story attribute)...The moment you EXPOSE him to others that he is Voyeur who secretly watching someone have sex...in that moment you killed and extinguish the Voyeurism attribute in your game STORY...

The same with Jealousy attribute...IF you suddenly take away Jealousy from the Hutch-(Husband) again you killed and extinguish one more attribute that makes STORY interesting...SO the jealousy should always be kept in check...so that Hutch-(Husband) always stay jealous despite what happening to him or around him...

The same with Cheating...IF the Hutch-(Husband) allowed his Vivian(WIFE) to Cheat with his Christian(BOSS) Then it's NOT Cheating anymore and the YET again you killed and extinguish one more important attribute in your game STORY...

NOW you getting the picture what I'm trying to tell you

The attributes you add to your game are what define the main foundations of the STORY. And if those attributes are Killed or extinguish on the way of rushing for the sake of SEX SCENES...

Then very soon after all your attributes are killed...the STORY itself will fade and be less and less interesting...and due to that many players will lose interest in your game and they will look for another NEW game who will give them all those attributes that will keep their interest when they first start playing the NEW visual novel.

My opinions and thoughts:

DON'T make and don't turn Hutch-(Husband) so fast into open and public Cuckold. That everyone will know about it...Especially his Wife or his Boss.

EVEN if he becomes Cuckold, keep him in the dark in a sense his wife should never know that he is into that HE should always keep that secret and always be Jealous of what his wife is doing with his Boss and HE should always be aware of what his wife is doing BUT he should NEVER tell her that he knows of her SEXUAL encounters with his BOSS or other characters in the future.

Keep the Vivian(WIFE) always denying and Lying to Hutch-(Husband) of what's happening with his Boss and all SEXUAL activities in the future with other characters...So that plot lines can always be presents and the STORY attributes never killed

Because the moment all the plotlines is exposed and every secret is out and all doors are open...then that's it...its over. The moment the STORY is faded due to the lack of killed attributes...Then the CHARACTERS and the SEX SCENES means NOTHING. And due to that most players will leave the game and go look for something NEW to play. What do you think WHY? not all BUT most the DEVELOPERS abandoned their project games...They lack interest from players...They kill the STORY fast because they think the SEX SCENES and Animations are more important.

I wrote this much because I like your game and the character models...You are on your way to make something really GREAT...Just try not to kill the STORY and its attributes fast. Can't wait for the next update to see where the story goes...

Vivian always did have a choice of course. I feel that she is a lot more wishy-washy and submissive in her mannerisms around Christian, because she knows that even if Hutch were to find out, she wouldn't really face any real/severe repercussions due to Hutch's cuckish attitude towards the whole dynamic going on between Vivian/Christian.

Now, (hypothetically speaking) imagine if Hutch was both a physically/emotionally abusive husband. Would Vivian feel more apprehensiveness if she were to blatantly cheat on Hutch behind his back? Chances are, quite likely because she is afraid of being reprimanded harshly if Hutch was to discover her infidelity.

However, since Hutch's personality is not at all in the manner described, she doesn't seem to have that fear of reprisal brewing in her. Hence, why she may feel sorry for outward appearances alone, deep down I feel that Vivian is not as regretful as she is made to appear in the game during certain scenes.

I agree his 22+years of love and marriage to a dominant woman is the problem. She is only dominate in her home and job, but met with another dominate force she becomes submissive with a false dominance. For me cuckish is the wrong word he is doing what a husband is supposed to do be loving and trusting. He just worked for someone that found his wifes desire, and weakness and is now exploiting it. Can only hope Hutchs balls drop.

You bring up a good idea: maybe after this novel, there could then be a "beginnings", and then we see the slutty days of Vivian. I do think that would be interesting. Wild days where she gets it on here and there. Maybe she and Hatch really have been married for 22 years, but that doesn't mean there hasen't been times when they had a break from it. And, she walked out, and hopped on dick. I'd like to see it. Hutch has always been a loser for me though. That will never change. Vivian... I would like to see more of, younger, or older. I like her.

When Christian is watching the camera footage of Hutch finding them fucking in the back yard, I keep picturing Hutch as Sully in Monster's Inc., when he thinks Boo is being compacted - fainting, then getting up, seeing it still happening, and fainting again:

do you think vivian is smart enough to know the boss is humiliating her husband and enjoying every second of it by banging her with hutch right there in the same home? if your answer is yes then she is enjoying it also. she may deny in what she says but not by how she feels by allowing the boss to bang her all night long with hubby there knowing it will to destroy hutch.

There hasn't been any evidence in the story so far - this sounds like rose-tinted glasses for characters otherwise having plot armor.

Asking (telling?) her for a kiss in the very first instance would give him a sign as to whether or not he can push this one, and the second kiss was an early sealing of the deal. I thought that was very well done actually, as a quick way to show this happening, avoiding the need to draw out the opening too much.

SC Story has already invented and told the story - it just needs to transform it into images, and probably make a few smaller decisions. We can already see that he has great control over "storytelling" I even assume that he is professionally related to TV/gaming-dev/writing.

I'll be honest - I want to watch HIS(HER?) story,
no advice like - "you know, I think you should do this and that"
even if I don't like it (not my way)

the example of MHB clearly shows that a kinetic novel (especially episodic - back to the roots) generates a completely different level of reader's involvement than a book, comics, a film or even a game - completely special - I can't even describe it. I'm completely surprised by this

...but you do know that this KN has no MC per se, do you?!.
It's written through the view of multiple characters while Hutch being one of them to add an essential tension to the scenario that took place in Christian's house and in the office bathroom.

No turning back to normal life for Huutch. He got cucked and his reaction?
Does he man up, does he pull himself together and stops being a whiny wiener?
No, he listens to the advices from a man who banged his wife. A man who told him he'll steal his wife.
Now he is a husband who got rid of his duty as a salesman and a husband but has to keep account of the little project his wife does for "The Man",

NTR will not be softer and neither will the story, said the DEV. But we get an insight from the husband's side in one of the updates. And there won't be a losing type, I don't know how the DEV put it exactly, but you can check it yourself many pages further back.

Project Update

The next 24hrs of game time is done. About 1k images and animations. Most of the preview images already teased will not be in this release. Those will be in the third (v0.6). So a good chunk of that release is, thankfully, already done.

The more I think about it, the more appropriate 20% increments are as they are natural spots in the story to pause on. So next update will be v0.4 and deals more with Viv and her mindset. After that will be v0.6 and deals more with Hutch (but not exclusively) and the limits of what he's willing to endure (if there are any). v0.8 builds towards the final climax (hehe) and of course, v1.0 deals with the end and the epilogue.

Curiosity question: Are you guys more engaged, more interested, in this story because there are no choices? Are other games more boring because every possibility exists and there is no mystery? Or is MHB just an exception and choices are always a high priority?

I don't want to derail this thread talking about other games, but there's a few well know games I've given up on because it was just to many paths and, even with a mod, I got knocked off the paths I wanted and was too frustrated to try and start over. I will mention an exception, Chasing Sunsets, by name cause it's my favorite. It essentially had three paths, which was good, but I didn't feel one ending was significantly different than the others (girl A, girl B, or both).

I choose not to have multiple paths because every event plays into the next so multiple paths would require, literally, multiple stand alone stories. Hutch couldn't bust out of the bathroom stall and bitch slap Chris without rewriting every scene that comes later. If my story is just an exception to the 'multiple paths' rule, then I'm happy to be that exception.

Choices are generaly good. but in this strory there are just 2 choices.... 1. Vivian fucking around willfully or she does it against her will ... I belive those are the only 2 choices here could be. The highlight of the game so far (at lest for me) are moments where she enjoy what he is doing to her.... Without that detail all of this wouldnt be perfect as it is....

the reasoning that duke used for the explanation might be a bit out there but there are many instance where she thinks husband doesn't know anything about what she is enduring and that's one of the first major mistakes which shows she is deluding herself... not dumb(atleast at the start). but as the story progresses there are instance like the kitchen scene and bathroom where she should have known that even if someone drinks a bottle of wine they won't be a deep sleeper who can't wake up to the sounds she is making. there is also christain indirectly saying if he was in hutch position what he would do and how he did it to multiple couples... this should have raised a question. instead she get lead around by christian. even when coming out of the bedroom she see her husband seated in the sofa.... doesn't she have any brain to think that she would have been found out. then on the car ride home hutch's questioning should have raised a red flag...even then she keeps it hidden giving bad excuses. then again when hutch questions her at home that night about sleeping she is startled but doesn't say the truth. then the bathroom scene she is against the going out with christian and at the end she says she will make hutch let her go on these "outing". and then she finds out that hutch was there all this time. this should have give her enough reason to directly go to hutch and reveal the truth but instead goes to christian. adding all the sequence of event at first she might have thought a fuck would smooth things over then midway she becomes submissive and enjoys it and deludes herself into thinking her husband doesnt know anything and finally even after realising that hutch knew from the start she doesn't say no and become submissive to the husband. y did she endure all that ... she wouldn't have had to go through all this if she thought about what hutch said to her at the first night when the couple were going to bed. this shows that she may be smart in some ways(clearly not where it matters according to the vn) but she is cleary dumb enough and deluding herself into thinking she is doing it for marriage and love. when all that she has done has caused the break in their relationship.

we will only know about it only when we get at least 2 or more updates in this vn... the humiliation aspect of it(except for the bathroom scene which clearly shows this it wasn't intentional, then again all she was doing was intentional even accepting to go on "outing" and that she can convince her husband)...this can be seen as hutch giving up on forcing vivian to not go when he tell her to go out and open the marriage since he heard her willingly accepting christian's plan... in regards to vivian being a willing participant in humiliating hutch. in future update depending on 2nd and 3rd update might get a insight into that pov.

I put a friend on visual novels awhile back. I wanted to see this gym rat cry. So LOF and Acting Lessons. LOF he was tearing like a babe AL pissed him off he had to choose. the more you read the vn the more you find the little details that the dev has peppered through the update. thats y the auto transitioning helps the dev to make the player miss out on a lot of impact he is creating... intentionally or otherwise. fingers crossed the the dev removes it ... then again that's what is causing so much debate as people miss the minute details the dev is showing in those auto transitions and split second animations. it brings back memories of reading the robert ludlum novels.(i know ills get a lot of feedback for this statement that's how i feel)
ps: and regarding the finger liking scene ... there is alternate version / unused renders for that as well.
