The problem with saying you speak for everyone, is that you rarely actually do. Dev has already written the ending. It may well include a revenge arc, it may not, but either way, he expects his ending to piss off probably half the players who get there...
Sorry, but you don't. I suspect SC knows what he wants his ending to be. And this is his story. He doesn't get money from Patreon or Steam, so he gets to tell it as he likes.
Speak for yourself. I want a shared ending: Vivian is too much for one man, she will put in her pocket the boss like she did with husband and every other

I can see episode 3 being an off ramp for alot of people. Esp given it's essentially Hutchs Arc and the conversation is coming (we think)
It's likely going to be just as dividing at Episode 2 was and cause more needless over analysis
Because it ends in a cliff hanger like chpt 2. That is the thing about cliff hangers. They stimulate a lot of speculation, which is good for SC. But, as you say, needless. But fun, as long as we don't shoot each other.
The other thing about cliff hangers is, like when Captain Midnight gets shot 5 times and thrown off the top of a ten story building, that they are mostly smoke and mirrors, contrived for effect. Because a giant bird catches CM on the way down and nurses him back to health in 10 minutes flat, but we don't find that out till next week, or in this case Dec/Jan.

Did he say that? This gets misquoted a lot, but from what I've seen, all dev has said in respect of that is the below:
I've not seen him say anything about half the players dropping off with each update, or anything like that. I've seen plenty of other people saying he said that though (or more realistically, it's probably a couple of people saying it multiple times).
Saying that, it's difficult to search something without keywords, so any time I've tried, I've not been able to find this apparent quote from the dev about half not making it to the end. So please, if it is indeed something he has said, won't someone provide the post he said it in?
Searching for quotes is difficult, mostly because you don't remember the exact words that will match what you want. Anyway, I seem to remember the first time he showed up here after the June update where he said that the update surprised him because he expected a lot of people to be upset and go away, but he did not expect them to be so loud about it. So look for that. I arrived here a month or so after the June update, so I am missing a chunk of history.

Nope. All he said there (that is relevant) is the below, which does not suggest he expected half to drop the game at any point:
But I think even before this, people had been misquoting his original quote (which I put in my previous post), and saying he said half will drop the game at X or Y point...

I sill think it will end....which every way you think. But then the surprise is a Bob Newhart ending... They wake up from a dream and it did not happen... THen they say... we have to get ready to go to dinner at your boss house. And it ends .

It's not the first time it's been suggested though, with the neck tattoo potentially playing into the theory a bit...That would be so cute. There will be a surprise. My guess is that it has something to do with how it is that Boss and Wife seem to have found this electromagnetic magical sex in what most would expect to be a grudging casual sex. It certainly would have been in my world anyway. 8 times of passionate screaming and grunting in one night? Nah, that simply is not how casual or money motivated sex goes.

In fact, the dream (or nightmare) hypothesis had been mentioned before the release of Chapter 2.
It's a theory that would allow Hutch to get out of this situation in the best possible way!
It could also explain his near paralysis every time he has to intervene (like in a nightmare where you can't escape).
