We can't say anything about a "backstory", I agree. But I see it like a stress test - if you fail that spectacularly (plus the occasional hints we get how they view each other, communicate with each other etc), you are forced to draw conclusions ragarding the condition they were in up to this point. Especially if you are not inclined to see the boss as some kind of irresistible force of nature. This can't be about two individuals failing each on their own seperately here (she as a hoe, he as a cuck, both hidden upt to now), but it's about their mutual bond which is failing here, they are failing in their relation to each other, that is what is happening. And that's not necessarily about certain events like how they met etc.

I also wonder renewedly about Hutch's impotence. I could be wrong but I wouldn't have expected it as a necessary, obligatory topic in this case - he seems physically fit, in his late 40ies, maybe around 50. And taking viagra hints to the fact that it isn't just a superficial problem. So why does the dev seem to put emphasis on it. Is it just to give a motivation (and legitimacy?) for Vivians hunger for sex? To stress that Hutch is a loser, to stress the contrast to the boss? And maybe it's not just a physical problem, maybe Hutch wasn't so keen on Vivian anymore (I know, I apologize for saying that in this thread :) )?
Talking on backstory now I'm not going to provide a theory but more something I noticed with avns of the nature where the wife has a "repressed sexual appetite" so to speak , but does anyone else find with these that it almost feels like that the wife has had little to no sexual experiences prior to marrying the husband without it directly being mentioned? And then these "feelings" just happen to be awakened by one brief not overly sexual encounter so to speak , or on the other side sometimes I look at the other way that the wife has always had this sexual appetite and desires then it makes me wonder then why did you marry the husband in the first place it's not like you where saving sex till marriage you would of likely got plenty of test drives before the big day so you know exactly what your getting , now I know these lean more to the reality side of things and doesn't really fit the porn logic side of it , but it was always a thought that popped into my head when I seen it

Also just to clarify this is not me saying you can't do it this way it doesn't make sense this doesn't happen etc , more just wondering if anyone else thought something similar and I know it's a game and it's designed that way but I just can't help myself haha
Dealbreaker is this a detailed expansion to my previous post about something fundamentally wrong with the marriage??
if not then nice interpretation. y are you apologizing at the end. if you are saying that cause of retaliation for team hoe... dont think any one is on that team... ;)

Chaoticjustice it's one of the reason most if not some of us are curious about the mindset of vivian and maybe her past which may or maynot be shown in update 2(0.4). the views that you have posted have been debated and since we have only speculation to go on it lost traction.

i did at one point try to understand the topics you wrote about but there were too many leap of faith moments in the reasonings to come to understand feeling of the characters, and the more times i read the kn the more i felt we need more info for making probable theories. as every conversation felt connected to some other event or some logic borrowed from another instance. like a series of mini episodes leading to a big episode to explain all the previous episodes.

think most of us are attracted to the model not the vivian character... so you are safe i guess....
Yeah I would agree , but one thing I would like to see from hutch and I would say it's highly unlikely to happen , but while Vivian's doing what ever she's doing/wants , I would love for hutch to be like while this is happening I won't be living in this with you , not necessarily for him to be like I don't love you and I'm leaving you , more of a your actions have consequences Vivian so here they are sort of thing

More to plant the seed in her head that by doing it all there's things in her life that she stands to lose potentially , rather than it be she does whatever and hutch just becomes a very quick after thought , something like this for me would help maintain her emotional drama around what should I do sort of thing as for me it would lose a bit of it's emotional touch if was she just went out and did whatever she's wants and then just has the mindset of it's all good I can do whatever because I know hutch is waiting for me back at home and she just has no fear around any potential fallout

With this the way I like/try to look at it boils down to that Vivian wears the "trousers" in the relationship so essentially over countless years she has either knowingly or unknowingly emasculated him by not allowing him to be the man of the house so to speak and as an outcome of this it has since caused this issue

We see a couple where one slowly begins to learns that there is more than just to serve and resign oneself to the dreariness of the given wheras the other part refuses to plunge into a new professional life, knowing full well that his current job and the surroundings does not correspond to his true nature.
Not only does his current job not really appeal to him, but he doesn't seem particularly committed to it either.
What other reason could there be for losing 2 clients?
Huutch commitment also leaves a lot to be desired in other areas of life.
The distraction that surrounds him prevents him to realize the impression he has made on a certain employee.
He's not a cuck and also does not give the impression of getting one but his indifference to everything doesn't make him become a womanizer either.
Who can blame someone for escaping the boring routine, if you replace an engine that doesn't even needs the push of a button to start while the old one can only be started with a crank or choke.
Huutch is fucked like a turtle lying with its shell on the ground...he can't escape what's coming his way!

Game or no game that's such a fucked up view on it , Id be curious to know if you would still have this mindset if something like this happened to you

I don't think hutch is the problem. Vivian said when she put on a sexy nightgown.. he was like a tigre. It is just possible the bedroom got stale... and I think she was the cause. Now something has awaken in he sexually and she may become the tiger.

Ah, I forgot that. I tigre on viagra, not bad.
But then we also don't know how long he's been using it and what he was like prior to it , so it also makes it a tough one , I would imagine that prior to taking the pill he must of been relatively good in bed as it's not like the pill teaches you next sex moves it just gets it up and keeps it up , but then I suppose with that the argument is that he could be a fast shooter hard to say without more context

I think she said Sometimes he need something to get started.... meaning not every time. That tell me he can when motivated or stimulated. I think ( probably wrong ) she is the one who got lazy or dispassionate and the sex got stale causing hutch to use other means to get it up... I'll bet there is nothing wrong with Hutch drive..

If you go back a page or two I put about about how Vivian emasculates him and that's why he needs , at the end of the day who's gonna want to have sex with some who doesn't allow you to be the man of the house , hutch wouldn't get to fuck Vivian , Vivian would fuck hutch ( not in a pegging aspect) as in that she would call the shots to what they do

The discussions on here are almost always interesting, especially trying to parse out the Hutch/Vivian relationship. As I have stated before, I think there is more complexity to their relationship that can not be summed up in generalities. Some observations frequently missed (or not emphasized enough):

This is a 20 year relationship. Over that length of time it is impossible not to have some routines, patterns and learned behaviors in a relationship. Many speak of Hutch not “wearing the trousers” in the relationship. I would contend that is more of Hutch accepting Vivian is the more outgoing of the two and instead of fighting every time she tries to “fix” something he kept quiet. Why? Because he loves her and he elected not to die on that hill. You see this in relationships all the time. Twenty years with the same person…if you haven’t compromised and begrudgingly accepted some annoying personality traits of your spouse…you are now divorced. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Viagra. Some 25% of men suffer from erectile dysfunction, studies suggest more than a third of men experience it some time in their life. Can be medical or emotionally induced. The older you get the more the likelihood of experiencing it. Hutch, apparently, has to use it. So what? It doesn’t mean he finds his wife unattractive. More likely, his job and life are crushing him. He is in his 40s. His only child is now in college. That is a defining moment in people’s lives that usually involves some soul searching and a reevaluation of their life. IF Hutch did screw up at work, it is probably as a result of these changes in his life.

Vivian’s motivation. Apart from our beloved crew who simply like to label her a whore, it is more complex I think. Again, she married young and has been in a relationship for 20+ years. Her only child went off to college. That is a huge deal, especially for women. Like Hutch she is having a “now what?” moment. Given her personality and Hutch electing not to fight her on her need to “help” and “control” she tries to solve Hutch’s work issue. This is a learned behavior from both of them. It is part of their relationship dynamic now, regardless of what either of them truly think. Ah, but we see a glimpse of that…Hutch is now tired of her meddling and feeling she has to take charge. Vivian is frustrated Hutch is not more assertive. Both do not realize they made that Faustian bargain early on in their relationship. Christain is the mere catalyst exposing this crack in their relationship.

The “true” Hutch and “true” Vivian. This is where it gets real interesting and speculation abounds. As mentioned above, both are going through a reevaluation of their life…whether they know it or not. There is comfort in their relationship, but also complacency (which is real easy to do.) Both may now be chafing at the roles they have assumed over time. Their personalities had become magnified in trying to compromise with each other (Hutch receded to allow for Vivian’s control/help issues, Vivian filled the breach thinking she had to because Hutch wouldn’t.) Vivian got married young and may have had a wild streak before Hutch. He was solid, measured and brought a focus to her life she yearned for at the time. Yet, something buried can always resurface. Given the perfect stew and her personality, she was primed for a master manipulator like Christian. Hutch, is a seething mass of forced deference. He is smart (as it has been stated), good with numbers and, apparently, still has some qualities attractive to the opposite sex. He is not a “beta” or loser As some have stated. Oh no, I think we shall see how much Hutch can take before he masters his inner Conan. The question is, will Hutch and Vivian‘s relationship be reborn with new roles or will one be buried by the other’s reversion to their true self? Only the Dev and the corpse of Freud may know the answer…

This is incredibly well written so kudos but also I agree with this completely and I also don't think hutch is going to fall into the "roll over and die " mentality I would imagine it's gonna be something along the lines of if you poke the bear for long enough your going to get your face fucking ripped off haha

That is a very enlightened, calm and measured take. And the entlightened observer will sympathize with it. But it sounds as something Hutch himself may have told himself several times before (he is a rational and reasonable guy) - and that could be the problem with it. This is not meant as a polemic, I really think something like that is Hutches frame of mind before all this starts. With these considerations you expect to earn stability, but what you get is the break down at the end. He thought he would avoid divorce as you say, but sometimes a compromise too far lets your spouse loose respect.
Same with viagra. You say "so what" - and again that is what a rational being would say. But does it feel that way for Vivian? I she just petty and mean in bringing it up in front of the boss or is there a dimension to it which is irrational if we like it or not, which has consequences on how she sees you?

I don’t profess that my assessment is the only one. Decisions made early in a marriage can have unintended consequences later on. Perhaps, she appreciated him not objecting to her on everything at first. Possibly, respected him for giving her latitude and decision making authority at times. Yet, as I mentioned, each went down their separate rabbit holes. It is the classic, “but that is what you wanted/needed then, but NOW you decide that’s not good enough?” Rug - feet - yank.

Viagra, I believe (can’t say I have used it, but would if necessary), takes the spontaneity out of sex. Vivian’s comment is unnecessary and a head scratcher. It may, however, be part of her rationale for caving to Christian’s advances. He clearly either eats viagra as popcorn or is just a sexual dynamo. Five - six times if you are not a teen or early 20s is a high hurdle. (Cue all the “oh yeah, I do that regularly blah blah”…lol.) Once she agreed to his advances, however that transpired, it was in for a penny in for a pound in her eyes. The viagra thing was part of the rationalization. She made the mistake in thinking she is less desirable because Hutch needs to use it. Meanwhile, Captain Cumbuckets does not. That is a medical term, Captain Cumbuckets. Anyhow, there is more than one interpretation. Hopefully at the end of the KN we can all go “Ohhhh….that was why!”
