For those who are curious of the tattoo on her back.

A Dream Within a Dream
By
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

THis is the first one.... interesting because it's something he has laying around... didn't need it back. THe second time she open the door...then closed it
She is fighting it but it means something now. because if it didn't why put it in the draw instead of washing it and have Hutch return it why put it in the draw. Hutch knows she wore it. It was a memento. But that's just my take high possibility I am wrong.

What is the irony in A Dream Within a Dream?

Irony. The purpose of the poem is to explain to the woman and others that he does agree that life is all a dream. It is ironic that the speaker is in a dream, which has a happy connotation, but he is weeping and can't hold on to anything. Rather than the speaker being upset with reality, he is upset with fantasy.

What is personification in A Dream Within a Dream?

Personification is used to demonstrate emotions and the passing of time when “hope had flown away”. This cleverly demonstrates how time manipulates emotions and being a human is not always enjoyable.

Personally, I do not want their marriage to survive, that would be the 'bad' ending as far as I'm concerned.

A "happy" ending for me would be Hutch ending up with Addison and be expecting a child together. Vivian becoming celibate, and living like a recluse due to the remorse of the death of her marriage, and her son completely cutting her out of his life. Christian gets arrested for pimping/prostitution causing a major scandal amongst his clients. Ends up loses his reputation and business, behind bars.

A "dark" ending for me would be Hutch spending the night having sex with Addison, and half way though the night picks up a gun Addison keeps for protection, then drives over to Christians. He sends a email to his son explaining and describing everything that has led to this point in time. Then breaks into the house confronts wife and boss while she is riding him cowgirl. Shoots the boss several times then points the gun to Vivian making her think she is next. Turns the gun to his own head tells her its all her fault and shoots himself dead. Vivian life gets exposed leading to her losing her job, and becomes an outcast to all who know her, even denied entry to the funeral. Her son loathes her with a passion. Months later Vivian, after visiting Hutch at the cemetery, jumps into her car and and his confronted by Addison, who looks at her and says "For Hutch" and proceeds to slit wife's throat. She leaves the knife in Vivian's hand with a fake suicide note. Nobody goes to her funeral, and she gets cremated. Her remains are posted to the son. Son knows that she would have loved to be put to rest next to Hutch. Instead he walks over to bathroom and flushes ashes in toilet, into the sewers where she belongs.
Dude, you literally added to my story, your ending is even darker. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

Well Christian has her panties (underneath table in backyard) as a memento too. i wonder if he's busy sniffing them as well.

I absolutely agree! Vivian is not a person who can be trusted.

That would be my perfect ending, in fact from the beginning I think the only happy ending Hutch can have is to end up with Addison.

A "dark" ending for me would be Hutch spending the night having sex with Addison, and half way though the night picks up a gun Addison keeps for protection, then drives over to Christians. I do think this is an incredible story. I do like how we get to see it from either side. Or, a little from all three sides. We don't really get to see all that much of Christian. Just little hints of what's going through his mind.

I think it was an amazing scene when they do that bathroom scene. How she starts off really wanting to end things, but then geteting seduced into sex once more. And, this is when the husband is there to see it all. Funny, but really, really well done in how it was all set up.

And, I like how those kinds of set-pieces are used as development. Because he was there to see it, it allows him to see how she is with Christian. And, it's made concrete for how it is when they get together. It's still early days, but it's obvious she gets a lot out of being with the guy.

But, that's where the story shines. It's because all of this comes from the potential of the husband losing his job. Right at the start, he rejects other jobs because they don't pay as well. He doesn't jump on those, and it pushes his wife into... pursuing things she otherwise might not have done.

And, that works going forward as well. Like, unless he allows her to go play, his job is still in danger. But, he can see that maybe business will turn around if she goes whore herself, and so it allows him to just go with it.

I think it's magical, how this all works out. Hutch isn't all that stupid with the plot. I like that he did pull away from her. And, I liked to see those scenes. But, I also like that he's resolved things, and essentially now is thinking of it as an open marriage. Not only open for her, but for him as well, and we'll have to see if he does take more of an interest with Addison has things go on. I suspect he will.

It would be funny if Addison is sleeping with Christian, and has a causial fuck-buddy relationship wiht her uncle like that. And, it'd be funny if she tried to hide that face even as she tries to worm her way into Hutch's life. Like, it would be pretty hot if she was kind of a cheater too, but a hidden one, and continues to fuck Christian on the side (to keep her job).

But, as I say in my review, I do think things are nuanced. I do think the story is remarkable, and I see peices fitting well together. Not just a normal kind of story. But a good story. And, I like that there's forces behind that push the characters into their positions. I am curious to see how it unfolds from here. And, I look forward to seeing it.

So time for some more speculation, what ideas do people have for the day that Hutch was MIA running "errands"?

1. Divorce lawyer - clean break, he knows he can not win, why even bother?
2. Meeting with the competition to discuss moving over and bringing clients + maybe option 1.
3. Sitting on a park bench like a little bitch crying about it

I like the first two, because he was in bed the entire day before sulking, why not just continue that rather than change the scenery. Errands sounds like he was actually doing something, rather than just sitting around contemplating what to do, he was probably doing that the day he never left the bed. Also his attitude towards his wife when he got home, he was dismissive.

If it was me I would go with both 1 and 2, but it would not even get to that because the boss would have been curb stomped into that table and the bitch would be told to fuck off because its over, aint got no time for that shit.

Does it seem like her face is different. first one has a full face second one has slimmer cheeks. No nosering thought they were 2 different women.

Experts periodically post tests on the vast expanses of the Internet specifically for happy husbands, which can be used to verify the fidelity of their wives! These are tests for men with very strong nervous systems, it's better for all other guys not to know the contents of these tests, because it can poison your life for the rest of your life! For example: a wife avoids sex with her husband or, on the contrary, suddenly shows increased sexual activity using new poses! The following example: a wife talks to her husband as usual, but at the same time there is a sweet smile on her face and light in her eyes. My wife has new makeup on her face and her wife has lost weight and her figure has become slim! And my wife doesn't go to fitness! It's clear that passionate sex with a strange guy is better than any fitness! So why are you poking at skinny cheeks and wondering at the changes in this woman? This is a normal confirmation of infidelity... And this is just the beginning, because all the men in the game want this woman! 1001.png 1000.png

Replayed the game a few times. The writing in general is great, but for some reason the last scene when they are talking in their home, just felt flat. It defies logic and so I still don't feel it.
I think they could have been more honest with each other (especially Vi) and still end up having the same outcome. As it is now, it just makes Hutch portrayed more like an idiotic tool than a betrayed defeated husband.
I like the "talking code" scene. I think it says a lot that they both obviously know it all (the only thing Hutch doesn't know really is that Vivian is aware he saw her and Christian in the bathroom) but they just can't admit it, hence talking in code. It's like they think admitting it, saying it aloud to each other makes it real, and they can't bring themselves to do it. Yes, it could probably end up with the same outcome if they spoke plainly, but I don't think it would have had the same effect for us as the viewer.
This is the first VN I've actually engaged in discussion on this site. Compared to the other VNs I've read, this one's writing is leagues above. Even the emotions/expressions on the 3D models tell a better story than most other VNs. Great example in "show, don't tell" writing. With the first release, I think it deserves the praise, but we'll see if that changes in the future.
Agreed. I love some of the emotion on show. I've played certain games here that use a different render for every line of dialogue in a conversation and it doesn't have half the impact as a few renders here showing expression between lines. Obviously what is said comes into that, but I think the dev here has a really good grasp of how to use visuals to massively complement the dialogue.

For me, I feel something along the lines of 3. Hutch was pretty broken, and when he returned, he wasn't really any different. That could have been because he was trying to be proactive and it didn't work out, or just that he was returning home and had to face things, but I think it's more that he had just been in his head all day thinking about it and nothing much else.
