Saw that Steam now has the update.
However when I tried to run the game it failed complaining that there was no "MyHypnotizedFamily.exe".

I uninstalled and downloaded the whole game again, but the same problem happened.

I solved the problem by going into the local files and moved everything in the mhf_steam directory up one directory level.

The game no longer passes Steam's verification but at least it will run.

I will then provide you answers and links with proof which is AI generated or not. Using image search will of course defeat the purpose of experiment. Make the decision just looking at the images. I trust your honesty here.

I will say the first one is AI and the second isn't. That was both my first intuition and my conclusion on further inspection. I don't mind AI art though, as long as it is consistent and doesn't change too much from picture to picture.

Even if I am correct, neither style would bother me and I wouldn't normally look for details in such a way to determine whether it was AI or not. So as long as their isn't any glaring mistakes or inconsistencies I don't see a problem in using AI for the game.

You cannot be serious here. The second one has that classic generic AI artstyle that 90% of AI art has. Anyone that has attempted to use an AI Image gen service like novelAI can tell straight away.
It's one thing to say that AI art can be passable, but saying that you cannot tell it apart from decently drawn human made art is raw copium or pure insanity.

So what exactly is "losing you" mean? What support did I lose? What appreciation? What help? Did you give this game your theoretical 5-star review before, when it was 100% hand-drawn (currently still is) to support it? No. Did you perhaps support it financially? No.

Both of these actions would have improve financial situation of the game and I could afford to continue to pay for hand-drawn art, not go in the red and not be able to afford it anymore and trying to save the game with other cheaper means like AI art.

Tanking the game's rating with your 1 star review is your only contribution to what you call "incredible art-style of the game" and did nothing to support it or show your appreciation, when it mattered.

Money would help afford the hand-made art. Good reviews would rank the game higher on the forum and bring more views and as result supporters. After I finish writing this, I'm going to edit my review to be more accurate to my actual opinions about this game, rather than my sort of "knee jerk" reaction to seeing your announcement of the intent to start using AI art.

But first, I'll just say that my reaction was completely unreasonable, I hadn't looked into any of the reasons behind your choice to move to AI art at all at the time I reviewed, and now that I have, I understand the perspective that "shitty AI art" is definitely better than "no art." I built up a narrative in my head that you were just some kind of tech bro who was thinking about how "totally sick it is that you can put out updates faster now" rather than realizing how truly disgustingly volatile of a business model it can be to run an entire business off of Patreon, and that this decision might have been made out of necessity rather than convenience. I thought that my review would be some kind of "noble protest review to the rising AI onslaught" or some self-righteous bullshit like that.

I'll close off by saying that the only reason my reaction was so immediately negative and critical is because I truly do love this game you've made so far. I loved the art style, and there is a good chance I would have supported your Patreon if I had the financial means to do so, and so when I saw that you were changing to AI art, a medium that I have only ever seen produce blatantly awful garbage porn games, I felt like I was... losing something?
