So (having actually read the intro text), he is not really a reeking filthy feral homeless dude, he's just a slightly older guy who actually does own (or at least rent) his own place and presumably showers.

Diversion: Also, while watching the animations - and I know this is not the dev's fault - I realized what's disturbing about the koikatsu stuff. They go with Big Eyes Little Mouth, which works for looking right at the face, but the tiny mouth just looks freaky from the side. Manga authors actually adjust their drawings for side views, so the mouth gets relatively larger, and you can even see through. Since this is just 3D engine, it's faithfully recreating the tiny mouth thing, and it just looks weird from the side, even weirder from a 45 degree view, where it's just swimming in a vast empty cheeks and chin space. Okay, end diversion.
