patrion is just kickstarter with manga publishing style (payed for but easily gotten free) for porn, while f95zone became its pornhub. in other words in the end its a coin flip. For kickstarter You can get masterpieces like bastion just as likely as you are to get shit like everfall.
for here you have good creators like G28, Boobsgame, HHS+, Wape, Akubar (before he semi retired), Girls Life, Chyos, and a good portion of the qsp/rag developers before Ukraine fucked them (as they were all Russian sanctions mean they cant get payed) who are trustworthy, update frequently, and will and/or have finished their game.
and then you have stupid creators who failed or are just bad at Business
you have people who burnt out or became bored with their own game, night city for example
internal drama, breeding seasons
No money, almost every unreal engine developer
bad development style, public sex life
or not enough staff for the type of game their doing, summertime saga (arts to detailed for 4 people to do in a reasonable amount of time)
the worst ones thou are those who are successful but are horrible at Buisness. Best example for that one is fenoxo. For years he didnt own the work put into his game, meaning he had no control (in all honesty he never cared, and left it to sevein which was a bad idea as sevins dictorial) so fixing and adding to work espeshaly when a creator left made it almost or actually impossible to do. why did he ever alow that to happen, espeshaly as he got everything else right. Once its in the game its thus a games asset not the persons who wrote it as they gave it to you for free or you payed them for it. Who the fuck forgets to secure and trademark their own assets, hes just begging to be sued and thats why he has to tiptoe around his own bloody game
