You don't need to find her to continue the quest line. Just let the weekend past normally and speak with Jason on monday and he will say that Rachel came and helped him out.

If I remember correctly the grind was nerfed heavily in certain area so while it might be grindy to a degree it isn't anywhere near as bad as it used to be. Especially when the cheat menu didn't exist.

No, it is not. Work events occur every 10 days starting with day 10. Recess quests now only take five times, with one exception. The number of times it takes to progress with most girls has been decreased. This was all part of a first pass on balancing grinding. There will be more refinement passes in the future.

This game's next update will be on 6/2/18 as for the game being head the creator has updated it monthly since the start with one exception.

It's been reduced since those days, as have the recess and visitation requirements. That said, the grind can be almost completely avoided if you download the Rpgm Save Editor and use it. You can edit the variables however you wish to get money, skip the relationship grind and more. Really useful tool and its why I never considered the grind a negative for this game... since the grind is completely avoidable if you want.
