There are so many girls with whom MC could build relationships...but only Molly is matter? Well, that's a bit disappointing.
No walkthrough needed after 014. The choices do not really matter or are so obvious bad if you want the happy Molly ending.Which version is this now ? The latest walkthrough is of 0.14, is that one still valid & not obsolete for the earlier content ? If there is more after 0.14, can we expect a walkthrough sometime soon ?
Of course. and the discussion is obviously fine. Im was talking about the negative 1 star reviews and the you fucked up your game comments just because they didnt like the ending. So you liked EVERYTHING up until the last 5 minutes that you played? - 1 star this dev sucks. Thats what comes across as fucking childish. I didnt get my way so Im going to blast the developer and tank the games reviews.Putting aside any "you fucking suck!" style messages, the general reaction is that the dev is a good story teller but becomes a slave to their vision regardless of if it matches what they've actually been making.
We absolutely do want Devs like Sumo around to continue making games. Even with the ending, Sumo and the game continue to get solid thoughts on it. What saddens me is that all the "yeah but..." comments are being either ignored or the problems are being thrown back on the players for being demanding, entitled, or it's the player's fault for wanting something that wasn't the dev's vision.
A creator must either stick to their vision and make sure everything leading up to the ending fits that vision, or accept that the characters are running away from them and adapt the vision. Note that I said adapt. Rowling messed this up at the end of the Harry Potter series by force Hermione and Ron together because it was her original vision even though it didn't fit how her characters had evolved up to that point. She accepts this and admitted to it.
Sumo's writing of Tales and Nikki was too good. The players got invested in seeing them as a couple or at least having their own happy endings that fit with their personalities.
From what I've seen, Sumo's public attitude is and always has been (I don't know the dev's thoughts) that it's the ungrateful players who are at fault for the TalesxNikki feels rather than just how good he wrote them together. To put it another way; it's the Star Wars fans fault for backlash when they hated the idea of a Luke Skywalker who risked his life to save his father, the most infamous Jedi Killer in recent history and the Emporer's right-hand man, trying to kill his young nephew and then running away rather than trying to help the immature Ben.
I would love for more Sumo games. What I would hate is that Sumo doesn't learn from this and understand that if a vision is the ultimate goal then everything before that must match the imagined ending or else the ending must adapt to what's come before. And the last option CAN be done without losing the vision.
I agree, as much as I agree with the poster you replying to, (that there were a still a lot of sexual tension between Nikki and Tales). I think the game does not deserve a one star. (Just as Harry Potter does not deserve a 1 star for the reasons he mentioned.)Of course. and the discussion is obviously fine. Everyone that played this shouldve know what was coming based on what sumo said, yet so many people just kept hoping he would change his mind and blasting him bc he didnt. Discussion is ok, being mean about it isnt. Thats whats frustrating to me.
Try Out Haley's Story. I think that is more in the direction you want. Awesome game.Well...Yeah. Not a fan of the ending. Huge build up to Tales and Nikki being together (sexually), with not so subtle indications that there are REAL feelings there, just to have endings like this? Personally I was never a fan of Molly but I foresaw her having an ending. Never really thought Cory or the RA would ect with most of the girls in this VN. However, no matter the route you take or choices made it remains that these endings were sad, frustrating and a let down.
I'm not saying that tales and nikki had to become the perfect couple, given the relation between them being an open couple would have been way to hard, but given the again REAL emotions there perhaps another ending could have shown them together in the sense of continuing to live with each other, have fun with each other sleep with each other ( more for nikki than taylor ) and reaping the benefits of those emotions without ever actually being able to admit neither can or wants to be apart. Neither ever having an actual relationship with anyone else.
Basically forever roommates + friends with benefits + Feelings + Denial. Just a thought and my own opinion.
I disagree with your first statement, sometimes a girl like Nikki, needs a nice guy like Marc.Actually that marc Nikki ending was the saddest one of all for me. I have seen a marriage like that where they stayed together for 30 years with a deep dividing unhappiness between them, since she cannot really be happy that according to her beliefs the man she loves and has been married to for so long will go to hell even if he is a good man.
Besides Nikki as she is written at best got second best and she will always know that, most likely she will be sleeping again with tales within a year and then also feeling guilty about betraying two people she cares for. If that is happily ever after in your eyes. Well I would not wish it upon my enemies.
On this screen, just scroll up to the top until you see the rating stars. Click on the start you want to give (Say 4 out of 5) and then a box will popup where you can write your review.EDIT: Also i may be the stupid one here but how do I post a review in the review section?
I disagree with you, first a relation with a guy like Mark will put way too much strain on their relationship over the years and who do you think she will turn to for support and comfort when the going gets rough?I disagree with your first statement, sometimes a girl like Nikki, needs a nice guy like Marc.
As for Nikki running back to Tales...hmmm it's actually Tales that reject Nikki in the end. You can see that Nikki wants to stop it, but also wants to continue flirting, but Tales put a complete stop to this. So I can not agree that she can go back to Tales for sex.
On a personal note, that is kind of one of the endings I hoped could be achieved with Nikki, where both of them had moved on, but every now and again, they would do the hanky panky with each other. (This might have please a lot of unhappy fans...who knows)
Hmmmm... Still going to disagree. Lets take Nikki. So from the start, Nikki does not have a problem with sex, getting a guy (or guys) and enjoying life. My read on Nikki is a bit different then yours. (Unlike HS) I do not see that Nikki is in anyway obsessed with her brother. For her it's more of trying to get her brother out of her shell. Some girls like to do that. There are outgoing extroverts (Like Nikki) that likes to tease and even go out with more introverted guys (like Tyles).I disagree with you, first a relation with a guy like Mark will put way too much strain on their relationship over the years and who do you think she will turn to for support and comfort when the going gets rough?
Moreover as I said before as she is written Nikki for some reason in the past Nikki bonded to Tales as her partner emotionally at an important age, instead of what normally happens that siblings create a space between themselves to create room for future partners. Now whether that was after her first bad sex experience or that this was only a reconfirmation that Tales is the only man she could fully trust who knows. Now her behavior shows she has been fighting against that bond and relationship and not accepting it. Well unfortunately those very real bonds and deep emotions, are just as real as your right hand or your stomach. They do not go away just because you say No, that takes acceptance, dealing with the reasons and underlying emotions why you bound yourself in the first place and then a lot of willpower and really wishing to change those bonds. Likely there is no real happy ending possible for Nikki after she bound herself as a partner to Tales years ago for whatever reason she did. Tales did not really reject Nikki either though, he just wanted clarity about what their relation would be about. Besides his feelings for Nikki run pretty deep as well, even if he would not see her as his partner first. Really refusing her and her needs would be extremely hard for him even if he really wished to.
Bit more stretched conjecture, though it seems Tales was way more successful at creating space between himself and his sister at puberty, even on his side there are signs that at least part of his staying in his shell and not looking for a girlfriend may well have been partly for the fact that Nikki was already taking care of all his emotional needs you normally look for in a girlfriend except for the sex part. Now under those circumstances I see no real option for her to have a long and happy relationship with Mark and that is a very sad ending for me. You are free to disagree with me though.
We will just have to agree to disagree on how we read Nikki. For me the seeking sex with others without showing much good taste or her own real needs is part of her fight against the fact she bonded with Tales, well the advantage for you at least is that it makes the Nikki ending a lot more palatable as for me.Hmmmm... Being Tyles sister, it's also important for her that her brother lets loose a little. (With my one son in High School being an introvert, I know that feeling quite well). So she does what she does best and starts getting him in touch with his more sexual side. In my view she does fall for him to some degree during this stage and there is definitely a lot of sexual tension between them at this time.
However, I think that is part of the reason why she in the end goes out with a guy like Marc. He is more like her brother then her previous boyfriends. A bit more shy and introverted. She saw in her fling with her brother, that it's actually not that bad and maybe that more the type of man she wants. Sex does become less important as you mature more and maybe she was looking at other qualities then just sex. I think (If you went the Molly route), she wanted what Tales and Molly have.
Just my take on it. Don't make a mistake...I also think there were a lot of sexual tension left between the MC and Nikki at the end. But the ending for me was still satisfactory. Real life works like that. You don't always get the one you want. Sometimes you settle for the next person you meet. Cliché old person talking: Love does not just work out. It needs bloody hard work.
Maybe Nikki and Marc were prepared to work bloody hard.
The problem with that is that there was little to no indication of that in the game itself. There at least seemed to be, pretty clear choices in-game where Taylor could choose Nikki over the other girls, and show interest in her. The "would you be ok with her dating some other guy" - question being the most obvious. Only that one apparently meant that Taylor wanted to sabotage his sister's life and make her be forever alone instead which was a surprisingly dark take on itEveryone that played this shouldve know what was coming based on what sumo said, yet so many people just kept hoping he would change his mind and blasting him bc he didnt.
All right thanks. No walkthrough needed after 014. The choices do not really matter or are so obvious bad if you want the happy Molly ending.
Well there is content on the Molly path and an intimation of a long and happy after for her and Tales. Now if disappointed about some other options and choices Sumo made, that can be understandable based on your point of view, but not on the Molly path as such. What is point of having the molly choice. If there is no content there. Just don't give a choice doesn't matter now quite disappointing. Also veryyyy rushed
