Ignore that guy. This game does not need a sandbox. Would do more harm then good for this type of story. Most games that use sandbox, do so for no reason and feel gimmicky and they are more of a hindurance then anything.
I haven't insulted anyone, I'm just expressing my idea, and your suggestion to ignore me is pointless. It's perfectly possible to coexist in VN mode or sandbox mode within the same game as a parallel option; it's a completely valid suggestion.
The central idea is that the game can remain linear; the story wouldn't change, nothing would change. Visual novel mode and sandbox mode could coexist as options. The only additional art that would need to be added would be a map; the events are already there. Additional work would involve coding and changing some lines of text to provide context, as it's not the first time a scene has been played. It's undeniable that many would like this option. As I said before, it's fine that they're pornographic games, but some of us like to play them for what they are: a game. And a basic sandbox component would add immersion without being a radical change, just a separate option for fans of this mechanic.

It could even be a simple gallery mode inspired by a sandbox, with a map where you can revisit your girls and unlock more scenes as you progress (with the text changed where appropriate, to contextualize that it's not the first time that scene has been performed)

I could add two more examples of good/bearable examples of sandbox implementation: Come Home and Bonds of Love. But here's the thing: Desert Stalker, Photo Hunt, Come Home and Bonds of Love all have a thing in common — they have a lot of characters/plotlines, way more than MTD has or, afaik, plans to have. Photo hunt has like 15? Come Home about the same. Desert Stalker has wife, two daughters, main quest, side content with the queen, mutants, bandits, Igor, Kateryna, the northern slave girl, the black girl, wife's sister, her daughter. So all those games implement a system where those characters/places are simply displayed on the screen (or two in case of Desert Stalker) and you choose what you want to see at the moment.
The same thing in MTD can be achieved (if it's even needed) in a pure VN way — with small text boxes on the screen, the same ones used for conversation topics, which you can choose to click in any order.

Frankly, with the scope of the game, I feel like it's not even needed — it could just be a normal sequence of events. But ok, I wouldn't mind if it was implemented that way.
I have to admit, I am probably just mostly focused on all the mistakes that devs make when they implement sandbox elements (I could list around 5, but, in short, they add a lot of unnecessary clicks and pad out game time), so that does cloud my judgment. I don't see MTD as a kind of game that needs sandbox, and if it's purely to choose what character you want to interact first then a simple dialogue box is enough.

It's undeniable that many would like this option.
I respect your opinion, but it is VERY MUCH deniable. We've seen nothing supporting that claim. I think it's the first time people ask for sandbox for this game (I may be mistaken)? And there are, like, 3 of you. If that suggestion gets dozens of likes, then sure. But until then...

Hi, in my opinion sandbox games like: https://f95zone.to/threads/starmaker-story-v1-7-arvus-games.218071/ can be wonderful but tend to have more bugs and the Dev need to invest a loot more of time and effort to make a game that dont break every time ( is understandable that people who like this project and see that the Visual Novel genre works really fine fear after this changes the game go in a way where the Dev take more time to release new content cuz in a Sand Box game take more time to release the same content that a Visual Novel and more exposed to glitches and bugs that in the end drive the Dev to abandon the game for exhausting overwork and the bad critics for people complaining for updates short in content that take too long to be released and that probably follow a good amount of Patreons stooping his support $$$ ) sand box are good if you are more interested in playing a game that seeking a comfortable and fast way to have material to jerk off,

and Visual Novels like: https://f95zone.to/threads/my-new-girlfriend-ch-6-final-circlegames.207440/ are the best archetype of game to only click, you can read the story if you want (recommended for more immersion more pleasure haha, some games turn on more for the context of the scene even if the sex scene have one image than other with a sex scenes with a poor context an several images or even an animation) to just click until your find an animation that turn you on like crazy and "do the job..." which is the main objective of pornography.

I think the thing that separate the opinion of the community is simple: one part want to play and other part just want easy porn to jerk off with the content they love, something i personally do most of the time when i see porn content, but sometimes when im bored and i find a well made story that hook me up

In the end the important thing is being polite with others most of all the Dev that made the content that you enjoy, you can have opinions and desires for a project and is always positive give feed back as always you dont be rude and dont take personally if Devs dont want to do what you want but this in the context that the Dev is not a fking scammer that promising something to Patreons to take the money and dont give shit about his supporters later...

Thats way Never give money you dont want to loose to any Project, that way you dodge a loot of unpleasant situations.

Obviously, every developer should do what they wish with their own game, and not be bullied one way or the other.

That said, I feel that sandbox elements add a LOT to how much I enjoy a game if done well. Being able to choose where I go and who I interact with next makes the whole experience a lot better in any game. It certainly doesn't need to be a RPGM format that a lot of people associate with the word. Just a simple map where I can click to go to see that place or that person next. Even if there is absolutely zero change in the story outcome at all, I still like that, as it helps me mentally break it all up.
a handful of VN's can do it well, most don't though. just cant see it really fitting this story though. nor would it actually serve a purpose other then adding more on the dev. updates would be even smaller and/or longer waits, theyd have to write and develop all the characters instead of a linear development, plus the coding time. i dont hate sandbox, but outside a few titles its just never done great and id hate this game to lose its edge in the space in competes in because of it. i mean if the dev really wanted it id still play this, just hope not

Sandbox can be OK if it is obvious where to go (with maybe a few hidden extra scenes).

But running around a big area with 5 different times of day and no hints about what to do next for hours on end is the ultimate boner killer in H games, imo.

Guys, relax, MTD isn't going to turn into a sandbox or change its format. There's pretty much no way to even do that. I asked because first, I want recommendations for good games, and second, it might be interesting to know these things for some future project

In my opinion, this format works well in games like Summertime Saga, with several characters who have routines and a living world. But like I said before, it's a really hard format to make, with a lot more bugs and production time, where many times the payoff isn't worth it, and personally I'm not a fan of going back and forth all the time

For this upcoming chapter, a map would be interesting, so the player could walk around the anime convention and find specific scenes (like in Moonripple Lake), but that would probably destroy the consistency of the game, so I'm going to stick with regular choices

1) Change the engine to RPGM. Add quests and make players walk across multiple screens to get anywhere. Let me fully appreciate 30 year old stock 2d pixel assets every time I need to do anything in the game.
2) Make that walking even more exciting by adding enemies along the way. With Final Fantasy I-IV turn-based combat. Where I need multiple clicks to choose an ability and the "tactics" are "use your highest damage ability and focus the lower health enemy first to reduce the damage you take". Make my brain really work for it and extend the travel time to Ana by minutes! Hell yeah I want gameplay that was outdated 20 years ago!
3) Use the 3d render of MC's two-storey house, with multiple rooms, like MC's room, guest room, bathroom, kitchen, closet, etc. The more rooms, the better. DON'T LABEL ANY DOORS! And make all of them look the same, at least on the upper floor. I want to click on each and every one of them to see where they go (and click again to go back), and I want to have to remember by heart where they lead to.
4) If we need to leave the house, please, make it so that I have to go through several rooms every time I need to do that, instead of making it a single button.
4a) If I go right, make it so that in order to get back I need to go anywhere but left! Make me question reality!
5) VERY IMPORTANT! When you add multiple locations, make most of them empty, and DO NOT, for the love of god, put any indicators of which ones currently have content! Nothing brings me more pleasure in a porn game, than to go to a location and get a message "There is nothing to do here right now"! And then repeat that 8 more times until I get to the one location where I needed to go. Mmmm, that's what I call "choice" and "exploration".
6) Make me grind for money and attributes to be able to progress the porn content. Isn't this what we play porn games for? To go work as a cashier for 20$ a day to buy our GF a new 350$ dress?! All the while getting the exact same message, like "You worked as a cashier. You earned 20$". Mmm, so exciting! I love repetition!
7) But wait, that's not all! Make it time-dependent! Oh, you wanted to talk to Gabi in the park? Well, too bad, bucko! This is almost perfect, so let me make the one small correction
Instead of Final Fantasy enemies and fighting system, the game needs to have a system like Fear and Hunger, but instead of removing limbs, you remove clothes from enemies, and they can do the same to you

But I think we'll accept seeing Sephiroth sticking his long one into Aerith, if you really want to put a spin on some Final Fantasy canon
Bonus points if Gabi cosplays as Sephiroth, with an impressive strap-on as his trusty sword ;)

Hell yeah! Dilute the pool of skins by just retexturing the basic skin blue, red, green, etc. Charge 5-10 dollars for each. Add some godawful combinations so that those basic ones look like work of art in comparison.

If it takes you more than 5 minutes to make the skin, it's not worth it
You got to think smart, and do as little work as possible
But of course, charge as much as you can

Maybe take blue, but change the hue a bit more to like navy blue or something like that, and charge 20$ because it's a legendary blue skin
