Unity - Completed - Mystwood Manor [v1.1.2] [Faerin]

A very well done management game with bits of porn and a pretty decent plot. Maybe a bit light on the porn side, but thanks to the well done models and repeatable scenes that part gets well covered, still the strongest point of the game is the management section, with several times opting to play the game only to advance in that matter. Worth donating some money and wait for the next game.

The Bad:

• The system for progressing with girls require's you to claim their level from their page in management view. personally I would prefer it to automatically claim
• destiny levels max at 3 meaning if you are trying to get the tier 3 cards you end up losing a lot of points
• Sometimes progression with a girl you are trying to level up directly conflicts with managing

I found this to be one of the more enjoyable games to play. For me the hotel management aspect was entertaining in itself.

I thought the girls looked good, Hanna being my favorite even though I usually don't go for a lot of tattoos. I always appreciate it when the models have more realistic body proportions.

The story line was good, though the ending was a little telegraphed, no surprising twists here. I place a lot of importance on writing and it did just fine.

I definitely recommend this one and it's one I'll play through again.

Enjoyable game, the managing options are entertaining themselves (though they can be a bit repetitive towards the end), character relationships are nice, the story is a bit worse, but good enough to keep it all together and let the relationship between the characters build, and sex scenes are good both in render quality and execution. Very recommendable game.

I like the idea for the game, you run a hotel while unlocking a story and sexy content.

Unfortunately everything in this game suffers from repetitiveness in every way.

Let's start with the gameplay, once you get the hang of the game, it becomes trivial and extremely repetitive. Even with new girls and hotel amenities being unlocked, it remains uninteresting.

You can go pretty hard at optimizing characters with items and taro cards, but none of it is necessary as the difficulty of the game is quite low. Most players probably won't care enough to try anyways since we're focused on unlocking all the sexual content.

Next the sexual content, every girl's content is unlocked in the same way:

Night time encounters for every girl has the same order
The same sound effects are used for every scene
We do a vertical/horizontal pan on every girl
and so on and so on

It's the same script for every girl with variations depending on their characteristics.

The story is not the main focus of this game and is not good enough to keep the player interested.

Mystwood Manner (1.1.0 version) is not a perfect game but it is a good game. The core gameplay is a simple yet fun management game in which we control, improve and organize work in our hotel. Nothing ground breaking but it is done well and is a very fun experience, though some parts are underdeveloped (like many of the locations). The story itself is interesting in the general plot, but the stories of each girl is less interesting in itself. But there is in general a nice vibe to it that makes you want to see how it advances.

Character models are not the best, but are pretty good. Animations do their job but are a bit basic in some points. Sound also has a limited impact, but does its job reasonably well.

So, all in all, a game worth playing.

Mystwood Manor being a game made by the creator of my favourite game was always something i was looking forward to. Now I could finally experience this game in its full and completed glory. And i have to say, i'm disappointed.

Mystwood Manor is a game with actual gameplay. And that gameplay is pretty good. It's working pretty well and it's somewhat adicting, especially in the first hours of play. We're working as a hotel manager, we're renovating and opening new rooms in our hotel and sending our girly stuff to work and satisfy the guests. This is fine and all. It works pretty well, it's nicely designed and executed. We have different guests, different girls with different skills, we can train those girls and improve their skills, give them different items and cards with different bonuses. If someone is looking for a game with proper gameplay mechanics this is the game for them. What is disappointing in this game it its adult part. It feels completely lackluster and underdeveloped. We have 8 different girls, every one of them have 15-16 events with them. Most of those events are just a waste of time. They're very generic and boring. 75% of them, in every girl case, are only talking with occasional flirting and teasing. That wouldn't be a bad thing if those dialogues were interesting, if those girls we're talking to were interesting, have some depth and we would get to know them better. Unfortunately all those girls are very shallow and have no depth and any character development outside of them getting more and more horny and lawd thanks to that place, that hotel having this effect on people. Yes, this game have some paranormal stuff in it, ghosts, curses and mysterious fog. I really don't like those things in a porn game. It always feels cheap and out of place. Ours relationships with the girls just feels very forced and unnatural. No real connection between MC and them. Their progression system also could be better. Some events are locked behind having some specific room unlocked beforehand or require specific progress level with other girl. You can easily find yourself in a situation where you are not able to progress with one girl for hours because you don't have some room open, thanks to opening other rooms first and not having enough money for next pricey room at the moment. That's just not fun when game doesnt let you do something you want to do. I mentioned earlier that girls have 15-16 events with them. Only last 3 or 4 of them contain sex. That's just not enough, every girl have the same slow progression. For hours you won't see anything sexy. There should be some diversity here, different pacing with different girls. Some events even feel literally the same.

Talking about adult content we have to talk about renders, models and animations. They're just ok. I think in 2022 that's not enough. Many older games have far better animations and more detail models. There is some diversity in girls body types, breasts sizes and looks, so that's a good thing. Sex scenes itselfs are also quite disappointing, they're very short, have only one or two camera angles and one ok-ish animation. Again, many older games have far better, far more hotter sex scenes. They're serviceable i guess, but i expected something better. Nighttime repeatable scenes are also disappointing. Many repeated positions and animations. The one thing i want to mention here is the Gallery feature. It consists some "bonus" renders with girls. This is the thing which just screams UNFINISHED. Some of the girls only have pictures with while they sleep. Like what is this? With so many different rooms, there should be tons of those renders with different girls working in different rooms (like gym, sauna, pool) with their more and more skimpier outfits. Wouldn't that be hot? Wouldn't that be some reward for all your managing? The very recent Halloween update shows this perfectly. Some of the girls didn't even get their Gallery picture with their new Halloween outfit. Just a wasted potential. The last thing i have to mention, it was the same damm thing in previous game by Faerin: no proper harem route. Only this very short bonus, final ending. Why?

Overall Mystwood Manor is a solid game if we're talking about gameplay but severely disappointing in terms of actual porn. It feels like this game was not really created with sex content in mind. Gameplay was the main focus, everything else was just not important. That's why the game end up with generic story, generic girls with little to no personality, slow progression with uninteresting events and finally disappointing sex scenes. This is not a bad game, it has some nice gameplay mechanics but from this developer i was expecting something more, something better. In my opinion, if you're not able do make game with good both gameplay and adult content, you should always prioritize adult content. Porn game with good adult content but with bad gameplay or no gameplay at all still could be good. While porn game with disappointing porn fails as a porn game even with good gameplay.

good: almost everything- image quality, the girls (small and big ass/tits and not all just huge tits and asses, pretty rare, different hair colors, one girl with tattoos!), the story, the management of the hotel and the minigames, the hint system, most of the incest, the sound and songs, the humor!, and probably much more.

less good: the video part of the game- looks very mechanic, and the sound is of only the girl's moaning. its not that big of a deal but some games add the fucking sound, the fucking looks real and with a few more positions of sex (though in the end there are tons of positions, just spread around all the girls).
about the incest part-could have been a bit more hesitant and emphasize the incest part, but im just being too hard if im being honest, it was pretty good.
also MC can be kinda dumb sometimes, especially in the end , but its kinda funny lol

The game is fun but compared to the previous one by the same author, I found this one lacking a bit of attachment to the characters. You get 8 girls who are diverse, but I felt no real build up of the relationships.
Also, the family incest part is so "quick" to happen and without question that it destroys in my opinin, the whole point of the incest fact.

Also, the game is a bit repetitive and requires a bit of farming.

Animations are good, but only a few of them for each girls and with fixed threesomes scenes, an aspect which could have been used to give a lot more diversity.

So not a bad game, but a little bit disappointing for me.

The story is correct. I expected the reveal since almost the beginning so I was not really into the plot.

Pros

• A nice story emphasizing incest as well polyamorous. Expressing the incest approach by mom’s little reluctance to give-up the morality well expressed.
• Excellent quality of image renders. Pictures of characters are more realistic; more lively images and more expressive the feeling as the dialogues like expressing the females blushes and the reactions pretty well.
• Excellent quality of animations; Also, some detailed view of pussy & the ass hole being contacting as soon as the cock withdrawal subsequent to the sexual intercourse
• Performance and grammar are all just OK no issue
• Lot of contents; pretty interestingly directed well.
• Mini games are inbuilt; like dialogue for example the interactions with the gambler guest

Cons

• Lack of hints for game progress; especially no hint when all the steps of the particular level tasks have been completed but the reward is not able to get and simply you need to repeat/continue other activities until it progress; meaning there are some other link like time or other hidden activity that controls the progress that makes frustration. While reading the review / queries’ I guess that many players have the same issue. So little bit improvement in the hint system would help the most of the players
• Playability: Roll back only the dialogue texts are rewinding but the images doesn’t
• The author checking us the player knowledge by quizzes and answer method is kind of funny and makes you to fed up. In a way the player is forced to follow the story very carefully else end up in repeating again and again

Overall too good/interesting; looking forward for the improved versions / such new games from the developer

This game is significantly better than the sum of it's parts . The models are good, not great. The sex scenes are decent. The story itself is very good. I enjoyed the management aspect of it, but it's hardly a Tycoon game...but it all comes together really well. Absolutely one of my favorite games on the site.

It drags a little mid-to-late game, but the automation upgrade you can buy takes a lot of the sting of that away. Items seem like they should play a bigger role, but I enjoyed the card mechanic.

The variety of women is a big feature and the costume changes (which are a thing for me) are one of my favorite parts.

Overall, great game. Can't recommend enough.

Mystwood Manor is a very polished, good looking visual novel and a very bland management sim. The writing feels generally above par, although it's a little predictable. The major crack in the polish is the incredibly mediocre sound - royalty free music you've probably heard before and all of the girls make the exact same handful of sounds during scenes with them.

As for the hotel management, the developers seem to think that a grind makes a game. I cheated my ass off to get through the content, and it still took me ~12 hours to get through. I suspect if I hadn't, it would have taken at least double that.

I'm basing my score on the fact that the game is complete and functional, both of which set it apart from the majority of what you'll find here. However, I'm not overly enthusiastic about it.

Probably a worthy successor to MoTH, with the possible exception of the endings. MoTH had more endings and each of those endings were comprehensive and contained multiple scenes.

On the other hand MM's base gameplay loop was more satisfying, with earning money being a part of base progression rather than something you do on the side instead of base progression in order to afford progressing.

Maybe there'll be some cool DLC involving Libby, the one that got away.

I really enjoyed the game, great graphics and a interesting story.

The inbuilt guide is great and allowed the game to be easily completed.

It was a bit grindy, to get all the tarot cards, but that could have been my bad planning.

I look forward, to future games.

Noice, another great game done from a consistent and hard working developer. To think it's almost been 3 years already, really looking forward to the next creation down the line and hope the dev has a great break in between!

Basically a Business simulation game with some lewd scenes. But the gameplay is fun and the scenes are good. Story was forseeable at some point, but it was good enough to make you want to see the end. Will keep you occupied for some days, so give it a go!

Enjoyed playing this to the end. A bit vanilla but the music/effects can be made quiet and it is the kind of game you can play while doing/watching/listening to something else. A bit vanilla. Karen McQueen and the lady from the Forest Queen deserve their own game...

I liked "Man of the House", so I decided to play "Mystwood Manor" by Faerin. This game differs in style from the previous game, and at first I did not understand why it was necessary to develop the hotel, then over time I was so fascinated by it that I was sad when the game ended.

This is one of those games where you play a timid MC running a hotel. There's a main supernatural mystery story to go along with the relatively vanilla porn game. It was pretty interesting to do the management section but got boring fairly quickly. Even with cheats, it still took me 7+ hours to beat it and I didn't even max out all the girls. Almost all the normal events with girls are just slice of life dialogue which can be skipped since it's pretty shallow. You don't get to any of the sexual stuff until the very high tiers. Overall, an average experience.
