Ok here's the thing. Developers posting updates with no actual progression is fine, as long as such a thing is communicated to the thousands of patreons they have. I have defended several developers in the past whenever i felt they were wronged by some forum users. And I'd defend these developers in a heartbeat as soon as someone points to me a single post from them that says this update is gonna be very, very light on character progression updates?

If people want to defend developers to the death that's also fine and also their choice, it's your money, waste it however much you like if people can burn literal millions on failed projects like Star Citizen to this very day, than this is like a drop in the ocean in comparison.

But the way this was all presented thus far was as a fairly large update, not just with music and everything else but actual story progression, at least that's the impression I got, especially with all the delays because of music which promised that this only means even MORE content will be added.

So in the end i don't think this was all communicated properly and while there are many times some people complain for the sake of complaining and some can never be satisfied, i think in this case it's perfectly justified.

Anyway now that we got this update out of the way which did do a ton of good things for the game, like repeatable events/scenes, sound effects during sex scenes which were surprisingly effective for the overall enjoyment and even the music that turned out to be nice. We can focus on getting the next update ready with hopefully more progress and that elusive Nefari sex scene... Like seriously just give us our Egyptian goddess already.

I think this viewpoint is unfair. Most of the people I support on patreon I have discovered on this website. People complaining about creators here gives me a better idea about the developers and whether or not it would be wise to support them.

Same here. Every creator I support, I found here. I appreciated reading through the threads, seeing opinions, playing the game and forming my own opinion.

One of the reasons why I love this site is it provides that option for people who just wanna try it before buying it.

Well, that happened, I'm officially disappointed with one of my top 5 games.

For me, this updates fails to deliver what made this game great in first place, the beautiful renders, the interesting and lovely women and a sense of discovery. I like the girls, getting to know them more, and spending time with them, as well as exploring the city and meeting side girls, poking around corners to see small events speculate about characters we haven't interacted with, but this time we only got to pad the game with content that doesn't progress in any the story or adds to the girls' character.

And most of all, it felt unnecessary, besides the coding stuff that can't talk about, the game only added music that I won't listen, sfx that I also won't listen, QoL improvements for things that were never a bother, and repeatable events that are completely unnecessary and inferior to the gallery. I get devs need to fix and polish stuff, but this time it just didn't feel like the game is any better for it.

Wasn't it stated several times that v8 was more focused on QoL changes, code fixes and the addition of Sfx and music rather that new content??

If the dev had posted a roadmap, you, and half his patreons would have cancelled anyway.

Yeah, but that would've meant that they'd lost that sweet cash, so, it's better to not post the roadmap so people cancel AFTER they get dissapointed and already paid instead of cancelling before that

Game's great, but i knew it would go downhill when each update added 1 entire week of delay, first it was 1, then 2, then 3, and then, 1 entire month, effectively charging for 10 weeks of nothing in comparison to the earlier updates (it's like when your service bills come 1-2 days before each month, so, by the end of the year, the company charged you 2 weeks to 1 extra month of service, for nothing)

Reminds me of Snowdaze, adding music that nobody cares about and will mute, useless voiceovers, etc

Also, the infamous "QOL" updates that everyone expects to make things "better", but in truth, are just fake stuff in the notes ~ i still remember Summertime Saga and their huge "QOL" updates, and the game is still a buggy mess, and you have to start over everytime because they can't even make saves transferable....but but! muh QOL!!

It was stated that the wait was due to the composer needing more time to finish the music, but they hinted several times that this will also allow them to squeeze in more content which they didn't specify what it means but i personally as well as many others thought it meant more scenes with the girls.
In fact in their last update before this release they specifically said that they are nearing the release date but that SOME OF THE GIRLS are still not ready for us yet, that to me seems like they were working on scenes with the girls.

Oh and i was curious to see if i was wrong and you were right that they said they focused more on music and stuff rather then new content so i went through all their patreon posts and i couldn't find this. You can find those posts posted in this very thread, in fact here are all the pages

Great update! I know if you look from the story perspective, there's no content about it, but if you look from the technical perspective, there's a lot of content: addition of song(really good songs), all repeatable scenes(it's different from the gallery, because you just see the action for those don't want to see all the context around it) and the hints improvement are less cryptic(you will be less stuck in the game ), but it's just for the main event because some special events still difficult to trigger without walkthrough yet. Overall, this was a good improvement for the game and you remember that coding a game could take too much time too.

Let's see what we got after 2 months of wait.

- 2 new events(one of them has no nsfw content)
- some songs(that nobody listens to because it's a porn game)
- some repeatable events (that are mostly repeats of existing events in a menu)


Obviously all I want to do in a world with magical girls is to play monopoly with them.
