Obviously the way trainers works would need to be redone. The general themes would stay the same but all the sexy bits would be taken out. The Vizier would still try to gain power over the Princess but without the exhibition elements, the dominance/submission system with Evette would be taken out and she would instead by a mentor figure, etc. When I was first envisioning it I was planning to take out pink cards altogether, but now I think they could still work as a representation of the Princess's romantic desire instead of sexual desire.

For this PG-13 version I would sell it for probably about $10-$20 (not that that really matters on a piracy site like this) and would focus on really buffing up the replayability aspects. So a lot more random events, more variation in things like festival events. The main theme of Naked Ambition is how personal relationships change people and their decisions, which should start becoming a lot more prominent in the upcoming versions. That wouldn't have to change for the PG-13 version, the characters just wouldn't bang each other at the end of their routes.

The reason to not make such a version as opposed to what I'm doing with TF Card Battle is that TF Card Battle is getting a complete overhaul of everything that's not the mechanics and design. New art, new theme, new story, new everything. So you would have to already played TF Card Battle to make any connection between the two games. But with Naked Ambition, the PG-13 release would reuse lots of art and writing from the current version so the separation between the pornographic game and the general release one would be a lot smaller. So the barrier between my porn label and general label would become blurry. Is that a big problem? I haven't really decided, but it might be. I could create an entirely new label to release Clothed Ambition under, but throwing away brand recognition and established audience for it would hurt sales. I could release it under Apollo Seven Games, but mixing porn and PG-13 stuff under one label is a bad idea in my opinion.

As is all the lesbian content is with Evette. In the finished game the partners with lesbian sex will be Evette, the PC, and Amelia. Cecily has futa/woman and futa/futa only. To get on Evette's route get lots of red cards, raise defense and offense and do the dueling competition at the Festival of Flowers.

Who's the PC? For the red cards, does it have to be 100% all red cards? Last thing, there's two options for the sub and the dominant right?

PC means "player character", in this case its Maria, the girl the Princess visits to get advice.

You need to draw a red card during the duelling tournament to be able to win it and get a lot of favor with Evette, you don't need a deck full of them for that, but the more you have the more likely it is you will draw one of them.

Evette has both a submissive and dominant route, which route you get is based on a "best of 3" card draws after she becomes your tutor, if you draw a red card 2 times in 3 attempts, the Princess will be the dominant one, if you fail to draw a red card 2 times in 3 attempts, then the Princess will be the submissive one.

I don't dislike the sexual content currently in the game, to be clear, but I do think things like the dominance/submission system with Evette or the sexualized nature of the princess's magic when studying under Cecily are a bit distracting from what I really like about their relationships (sober, realistic explanations of feudal politics contrasted with an over-the-top emphasis on being able to kill your opponent at all times in the first case, and an exasperated mage having to teach someone far behind where she should be just to try and finagle her way into a kingdom that will tolerate her cult in the second).

But I suppose that's a ways off, so I'll just download the latest version of Naked Ambition for now .

Check your calendar; after a couple of in-game weeks, you'll see a schedule of who you will be meeting each week, and a target number for your stats. Then check their profiles for what stats they care about. The exception is a certain dubious-seeming fellow who only wants you to trust him without question, and doesn't actually care about your stats.

Decide at the start who you're going to pursue, and who you're going to discard; it's not terribly realistic to aim for everyone, and there's no point in studying for someone who you're not going to pursue.

Each week, be sure that your advice for the princess stimulates her desire to improve a stat you're seeking to raise; the bonus is considerable. This will occasionally conflict with your card needs, however; it's up to you as to which you prioritize in such circumstances.

Later, your instructor will have a large influence on the princess's ability to learn; Evette makes it trivial to make the princess a peerless warrior, for instance, while Cecily isn't exactly the greatest at religious education. Bear this in mind when planning who you're trying to woo.

Keep this advice in mind, avoid stretching yourself too thin, and the princess should at least make a decent showing. There are other, comparatively minor matters you might want more specific advice on (like the thresholds for winning the dueling competition to ensure Evette's mentorship, or which stats you can ignore on a given meeting), but these general guidelines should lead you non-terrible outcomes. You'll need to watch your cards if you want to make friends instead of just winning their favor on the vote, though.

I don't know if I've talked about in here before, but I kind of regret making Naked Ambition as a porn game. Although my initial idea was pretty much just Princes Maker but with sex in it, once the idea evolved mechanically to focus on the outsider perspective of that kind of game (i.e. you not playing AS the Princess), I probably should have changed my goals or made a different product. Having the core idea of your porn game be low agency is a pretty bad idea. But hey, the game is what it is and I like how it's developed a lot, I just agree with you that Clothed Ambition would probably be a better game.

Yea, the way the variables get calculated and saved, it dumps them into the global file, and it tracks per the current playthrough, so yes, if you reload, it just pulls from the global variable save, hence the effect on "save scumming" not working. It is a renpy game though, and there are ways to get to the files, and ways to change game variable behavior if you are determined enough.

For what it's worth, I do like how you've blended the two styles (sexual vs. non-sexual) into the story, and I don't find it distracting at all. While there are other games that do one or the other better, there are very few that do justice to both. Finding the right balance is tough, but from what I've seen so far you've accomplished that.

This game is one of the few reasons I check back on this site almost daily for updates. There is just something satisfying about how the game mechanics blends with the story. I wish there were more RNG based stories like this.
