To be fair this is the common issue in every harem game, in order to give fair representation to each LI others have to get sidelined. I would much rather have half or less of the LIs and see more of each of them than have a million LIs that you pump and dump.
I'd rather get rid of the harem entirely - or at least make it more like Between Two Worlds where there are a few Lis but one main li and being with anyone else is completely optional.

Yeah, I enjoy good poly/harem games, but they definitely can get "watered down" when the number of LIs gets too high. In my experience, I find a sweet spot of between 2-6 works best for me in most cases.

Asides from the number of potential LIs, aren't all of them optional in Nephilim too? If you aren't on the harem path for BTW, you'll still be missing scenes just like in Nephilim. Just feels less impactful because there's less proportionately.

In BTW - there is a certified main li, you sleep next to her every night and you can be with the others (who are friends of hers more than yours) with her permission - even encouragement - but they are definitely side girls, and you still sleep next to the main Li every night. I haven't actually done the "harem" route in BTW so I wouldn't know but I like that the main Li is the main Li and your constant companion/partner/bed mate and the others basically have "additional content" tattooed on their foreheads. In BTW individual relationships are optional but you leave the main li behind almost all the time at this point - it's like she gets demoted to side girl status as soon as the others start arriving en masse. Sadly, one of the selling points of the upcoming chapter was "new love interests!" .. *sigh*.

At the risk of getting off-topic, part of this is probably due to the story setup. The party is never "split" for a long journey in BTW unlike in Nephilim, so there really isn't a scenario where MC and Hannah would be separated for a long period. As for the harem route, the other LIs definitely start out casually, but it's rapidly becoming more serious polyamory as the relationships with the other LIs grows (which makes sense, given Hannah has a two-year head start).

That does touch on one of my biggest gripes with Nephilim though. Namely, that on the poly/harem route, the LIs pretty much don't acknowledge the other relationships. I prefer there to be more discussion about things like mutual consent when it comes to including multiple partners, which is something BTW does very well. This I think also contributes to the complaint you mention, since if there's not collective discussion between the LIs about multiple relationships, it makes them all feel very separated and the game can only focus on one of them at a time to the exclusion of others.

That's true, about the acknowledgement I mean but it would be hard in Nephilim since every relationship is optional and at this point there are 1.7 million Lis and counting ... so which ones would they acknowledge? I just want MC and Eliza - together all the time (or as much as humanly possible). Everyone else in this is an extra or a villain to me.

p.s. in B2W I just stayed with Hannah and said no to her offer to branch out, but I haven't noticed it's absence. MC and Hannah are together and I don't "feel" the gaps where the other scenes should be. In other words nothing feels off, like it does when the Dev makes something optional but really expects you to choose a particular option.

That does remind me of one other thing: I don't think there's any way in BTW not to be with Hannah, unlike with Eliza. So from a development standpoint, it's easy to code Hannah to almost always be involved even on the harem route since there's no potential branching there. If in Nephilim Eliza was not an optional LI but a forced LI, I imagine she'd have a lot more screen time even in the full-harem route.

I mean, sort of but she probably should have been a "forced" Li in that case because I think I've talked to one person who doesn't have Eliza as their main Li - even if not their only one. It would have made most people happier and made development much easier.

Honestly, I'd have been fine with this too. I have seen a few people here say they don't like Eliza, but it definitely seems like a very small subset of players and the game probably would have overall benefitted. Ah well.

I would have been happy with this too. I can't imagine the person who doesn't like Eliza. I'm sure they exist but I can't imagine what their (very wrong) reasoning would be. I'm sure there's someone out there who doesn't like Hannah in B2W but we don't associate with people like that.

I'm probably complaining too much about the VN at this point but it's not even like the full harem experience has better lewd content, just more of the same content. Playing 0.4.9 felt like I was playing some extended version of the previous updates where he literally had sex with the same people, with the same renders, only slightly different dialogue, and then an extension of the scene at the end. You dance with the Queen in his room, you get the barmaid, you get the other maids, it was just a giant repeat.

I'm pretty sure it's Alice that's coming along on this one, otherwise why ask the question in 0.4.9. :(

id be surprised if she does cause the MC did say he doesn't want to bring her along for any major quest just some small easy ones to start. On the other hand it kind of does make sense because she does need some character deveolopment to play catch up imo

I just hope if it is Alice, then someone else comes too (Eliza & Luna would be good). That long journey with one person I really don't like is going to suck for my playthroughs.

Yeah Luna would be my 2nd pick tbh I just think Alice makes sense from a character deveolopment point of view

Agreed, I'm usually a sucker for the childhood friend LI butI just don't like Alice and I'm not sure why. She's very attractive but I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's just that she isn't Eliza lol.

I used to like her alot at the start but lately her scenes start to feel a bit on the annoying side. Not enough character deveolopment more focused on the lewds then she calls her self childhood friend alot lol. She feels like a character that has potential that falls short for me. But im still gonna play he rpath in hope she gets better

I'm usually a sucker for the childhood friend too (though less so lately it seems). I think Alice is just a bit too desperate and clingy and too focused on a promise made to her by a 10 year old who was subsequently traumatized for years. I mean ... if, at 10, I made a promise to a girl and then came home and found my parents raped and murdered ... I don't think I'd even remember that promise 10 years later. But it has become the core of Alice's personality and her raison d'etre. MC was lying in bed trying to cuddle his wounded girlfriend and Alice though *that* would be the time to try to seduce him. Alice is yuck.

Was going to add to the previous posts but anything I could say has been said, Eliza is way to good as a LI/character so being forced apart again just isn't fun. Taron Baby Dick being a reason Eliza would need to stay is just one of the many, many, maaaany reasons he has outstayed his welcome and needs to go.

Edit: Adding to this post so I'm not spamming constant new thoughts.

I have been overthinking things. I now wonder if there could be danger to Eliza from the weird ass cult that her possible mother is being held by, they have magic users it seems and she may be lured by her mother being held there. Taron Baby Dick is absolutely pathetic enough to use a cheap trick like threatening her mother and having people stronger than him ready to kidnap Eliza again, he did say he wasn't interested anymore but I'm seeing this as being the cult telling him to do it for whatever reason.

This could be brought on by something that MC does while away causing the cult whoever they are to go after Eliza a ways into MC's journey. As I say, I have been overthinking, It's a curse. Also keep that les/bi shit away from Eliza, not needed.

That wouldn’t help at all. I don’t like adult Alice - I don’t just mean romantically. I don’t like her and want her to go away.
That's more or less how I feel about vampire Eliza; she's a lot less interesting yet gets way too much screen time. :(

But even I think it's a bad idea for the MC to ditch Eliza at this point. She's too important to him, and there's far too much unfinished business in Luxenford for him to go gallivant around the world on his own. Unfortunately, that seems to be where the game is headed.

i feel like the game is being stretched a lot, events happening everywhere with no mc perspective.
the mc is powerful but taking his time with girls and quest with no progress for revenge his not even trying to find Taron, and why would he care about the king in the first place, i feel like nothing make sens Nephilim in the prison very funny.
and the game always try to force romance like Kira for example she end up naked with mc not intrested in her at all 0 point....
