Normally, I have a soft spot for blondes (or brunettes or redheads for that matter) who try to kill me. It shows that they are a good judge of character. That wasn't really my point... While he identified as the princess' bodyguard, Diana didn't believe him. They fought, but for some reason, Diana's crew put them in the same bed and didn't even restrict him. The only way this makes sense, is for Diana's crew to have recognized that he wasn't fighting to kill, which made them believe his story.
The king does mention that it's an important trade port. I think it's also situated between the kingdom & the elven continent, their most trusted allies?
Honestly, I kinda feel the same way.

This is the best take of it. Trying to pull some kind of deeper meaning out of it all is pointless. Maybe the story seemed like it was going to be better at the start but that ship has long past sailed.

She's worse than Selena imo. At least Selena has the excuse of he sister being held hostage. Brenda just decided she was going to take over the bay, torture the bartender and rape the twins.
Honestly I think that's the root of it. Eliza is somewhat believable when she falls for you right away - because she's been alone, and then you saved her, and there's a kind of instant connection I think because the same person semi-raised you both. You are both heavily influenced by her father. So somewhat believable. Alice is a little believable but harder, because you were close when you were little but you vanished when she was 10 years old - on the night your parents were murdered - and she's just been waiting for you to come back the whole time - also semi-believable but somewhat creepy if true. The rest are just sort of automatic, they are absolutely, deeply in love with you on sight because you exist and have a penis. It's not believable, and it's boring.
But why did Pearl get away with betraying the MC?
Just refuse her?
There's still something fishy about the whole Eliza situation. She was wandering the woods wearing stilettos. It's really surprising she survived years doing that.
