I realize it's just a word, and I'm honestly not trying to be pedantic. To me, betrayal has horrible undertones, so calling it a betrayal when it's not, (and I consider Pearl a fairly decent person), it does tend to trigger me. Saying you hate or deeply dislike her is fine, as that's your opinion and perfectly valid.

I suspect you are going to get more and more frustrated with this then, because we are going to be interacting with everyone and they are going to be in love with MC regardless of whether you keep turning them down or not. I really dislike Kira and Alice, but I accepted that I was going to be interacting with them and just learnt to live with it because I really like it overall and don't mind spending time with everyone else. Eliza is my very clear #1, but if I didn't like anyone else, I think I would have just deleted it and moved on by now.

Yeah, ultimately I put Kira, Pearl, Selena, Kira and Mei all on roughly the same level. As for the rest of your post, I’ve already said that I downgraded the game and it won’t be on my list of recommendations anymore. I’m still hoping for an ending I like though - which at this point probably isn’t the ending that everyone else is going for. I also doubt if I’ll start part 2 because the thing about multi-part games is that there has to be a cannon ending as a starting point for Part 2 - so if the cannon ending is a harem involving all of the main Li - then you’ll start part 2 with a harem involving all of the main Li, whether you like them or not. Trying to do a sequel where everyone has their own customized harem (or lack thereof) would be just about impossible. Although I do know one Dev who is planning on trying.

I wish Buu had the time on their hands to toss out a 10 render or so ending for people that didn't want to go help Pearl/Kira. Just a game over like "You stayed in the capital, your growth stagnated, eventually whatever major plot is supposed to happen did and you died because you didn't have the allies or powers needed to deal with it. Hey, you built a house though...it burned down in the carnage."

Kinda like how in Suikoden 2 you can fuck off and run away with Nanami and you still get to play for another 5 hours or so before you hit a "You ran away, lived with Nanami, and died" ending.

At this point, I’d almost take that - or at least a “You and Eliza abandoned the capital returned north and lived to be 10,000 years old”. In Companion of Darkness my game ended in Chapter 4 or 5 because I took the option to go live in a cottage in the English countryside - had kids with the main Li, grew old and died. And from what I’ve heard about how that game turned out, I’m happy with that ending.

I can't 100% knock it. Sometimes you just want the easy way out of a story that you're not really into anymore. Plus I always appreciate devs that make their game overs funny or relevant, like Projekt Passion.

Speaking of Companion of Darkness, I'm about to restart it later since s1 got revised. Right after I finish up the Actual Roommates update.

Swinging back to Nephilim...Eliza has Borri so I wouldn't be surprised if the house is well on it's way to done by the time we get back. Maybe an end of S1 milestone.

yeah this game went from a top 5 game to idk where anymore I like it but playing a pure harem save made me dislike the game at times when an update feels like it has to much sex. Eliza and the story makes it worthwhile. Then Luna , Amelia and Peral makes up for the moments with no Eliza for me.

There is Grey Jedi and to be honest I don't even consider the jedi any better than the sith just a little less evil.

I forgot about that ending I keep playing cause I love how it feels like an anime so the story is awesome to me but yeah I don't care for many of the characters there tbh I like 2 maybe 3 of them at most.

That would be Awesome tbh and a good way to end S1 I just hope it's big enough for the giant ass harem the MC is collecting might be better just to build a castle instead of a house

Yeah Id hate to start Part 2 with a harem. I'm only playing a harem right now cause im lazy. but solo Eliza is my main route any time I replay the game . Harem is just so I can see all the content the game has to offer even if I dislike some characters like the Maids , Slyph and Kira

But Buu has said, IIRC, that we kill Taron at the end of Part 1 so I don’t know what Part 2 would have to offer anyway, as long as Eliza is still there (and killing him without Eliza wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying.) With any game I start off with objectives and need a good reason to add anything to that list. Right now my goal is to keep Eliza safe and get revenge for MC’s parents and that’s the whole list - so I don’t know what Part 2 would have to offer anyway. Kind like CoD, my goal was to keep Clara safe. I did that, the end.

yeah we haven't met them yet or know much about them but I know what kind of enemy they are ( sorry being vague to not spoil anything). Meh … as you can probably guess by now, I don’t care about Rin. I wouldn’t mind having an adventure with Eliza (finally) but if it’s MC and Eliza and the Pirate Twins and Alice and …. then nah.

I'm just hoping for Rin and Eliza as I think they will make a kick ass team the former childhood friend that thought the MC how to use his magic. Plus I think she is just as strong as Dana when it comes to magic if I recall correctly. I'm not sure how I like her as a character the idea of a team up with those 2 is very appealing to me

It's also quite interesting that Selena, Kira & Mei, who all knowingly put MC and/or Eliza lives in mortal danger, show no remorse or offer any real apology for their actions. While Pearl, who didn't know what she did, carries the guilt with her for ages and is extremely apologetic.

Selena is a bitch. I assume Mei's betrayal was on the court but when did Kira betrayed? Are you talking about when she took MC to her father? I am quite new to the game but feel free to give spoilers.

Yeah, she made an agreement with the guild to take you to look for the cup, but instead took you to her father.
