I asked the developer on his own discord, and rather than acknowledge the question, he deleted it. It's safe to assume no permission was given because all he would have to do is say "yes" to a simple question. The similarities are like 60% of this entire chapter's renders and dialogue. I'd post the screenshots of just a few of the similarities I've seen, but many others have tried and they were all deleted.

That or the dev was sick of people just going "YOu stole it etc etc etc" rather than privately talking to him idk im not in the discor dand im nto the dv i can only speculate on what id do, and if i was a dev and i had a ton of people joining my discord flooding it with "you stole this from x y z" id totally just start baning people too. After the first couple times it starts to get redundant. SO idk. Hard to say without me joining the discord and going through chatlogs which im not about to do.

Nah bro, i still like the avn too (not this chapter tho) but you cant blame people for stating the obvious. Even less if there has never been any explanation.

It IS a surprising and confusing situation and not usual at all in avns.

Nah wasnt directed at you, Theres just been a LOT of people crying wolf saying they wont play it any more, but they keep coming back to here to change the subject every time to make it about the "stolen" stuff. Dont get me wrong im not saying he did or didnt, just was stating after a couple days of the same thing, of people trying to discuss other things and then someone going "blah blah stolen blah blah blah" its a bit dumb/funny at the same time. The stupi part about all this is everyones talkin about buu, but did anyone thats talkin about buus discord reach out privatly to the other dev. Or did anyone try to private message buu rather than join the discord and bring up the subject , because i can almost guarantee that i this thread is any indication, then his discord has prob been being flooded with it rather than asking him.

But i digress, If we were to ignore the 10% of this chapter that as "stolen" in some peoples yes, then the rest of the game aint too bad.

Even if I wasn't the only one asking the question, he could prevent everyone else that's supposedly asked the same exact question by answering said question, pinging everyone, and pinning said answer. The fact that he hasn't shows guilt.

Yeah, but we have this setup for more than 3 updates now, all what has been said in this last pages, is nothing new, and it starts again after each update,
and copying or getting inspiration of other games, is very common on this Site, there was a time there was 1 good AVN about being with hot girls on a ship, a few weeks later you had about 5 or 6 AVNs with similar setup.

What your talkin about the copying thing? If it does that then thats on the dev. Currently its only partial copying at worst of part of a chapter. Again so many people want to claim that so much of this chapter is copied when it clearly isnt. But what everyone fails to realise is the content on the island makes up MAYBE 50% of the chapter so far, considering the constant flashes to people not on the island. Top that off with the divergences like the temple scene after hes pushed down the stairs, the plesure temple (were you get to choose to sleep with one of the girls or go solo or not), the scenes after the hunt, maybe even the hunt itself, the temple in the forest, as well as all the scenes when you leave the village and go to the temple. Thats all 100% unique, then you also have the scenes that involve that one girls dads thats going after the MC. Add that all up your left with maybe what 15% of the scenes can be said to be similar. People be overembeleshing how much content is similar.

But like i said if it keeps up for more than one chapter than that will be fucked. Keep in mind i AM NOT saying that him copying is 100% okay, what im trying to say is of the scenes that are there, thats only a limited number the many renders that make up the entire chapter. SO noone can claim the whole chapter is copied or taken inspiration from the other, let alone even half of it so. Thats why i tend to say i think he more took inspiration and maybe took bits and pieces of the background elements and changed them to fit the narrative and story hes trying to tell. BUT if it happens again and again like you seem to say, then that is totally different. Then its more like an amalgamation of many different AVNs rather than an AVN that used inspiration for a section that maybe they didnt know what to do with.

Partial copying is still copying. Partial plagiarism is still plagiarism. There is a very fine line between being "inspired" by something and straight up stealing it.

How is something going to be 100% confirmed though? Even if it is plagiarism it's unlikely buu would ever admit it and if Buu got permission from lust city's dev then I don't understand why he wouldn't just say so. That's the biggest issue I'm having. I don't really have an issue with ideas being similar but I think it's a bit unethical to just steal entire scenes like that without asking. Honestly, I don't get why people are rushing to defend this. Just because you like part of the game doesn't mean you need to defend the game and the dev with everything they do. I also dont think it really matters whether just one chapter is copied

ngl with all this back and forth talking about said other game and potential plagiarism surprise there isn't a mod notice on the front page like ive seen on some game threads. ( I say potential because I'm not getting into if it is or isn't plus I haven't played any of the Island update yet)

I haven't played the other game so I have no idea either. Devs chat, compare ideas, do crossovers, give each other previews and so on, all the time without telling readers, so I think the best thing to do is notify the other dev and let them take action if there is anything to take action over. In the meantime, I'm just going to hope the MC gets back to Eliza sooner rather than later.

Im really enjoying the game. Just finished my first play thru. Keep up the good work. Hope it continues till the end. Edward some how being on the island and walking around like he owns the places is bizarre though. Tried to do just Eliza and good alignment but Echo got me.

True, as I said, I don't know the other VN to say or the two devs to say. I am just saying we may not have all the information. I'd contact the other dev and see.

Anyway, the OP says something about 'giving in to the dark side or becoming a symbol of hope' and now that I've explored the world a bit and met its inhabitants, the dark side seems like the way to go.
