Hi! I trust that you already got some help regarding these issues. If not, I would be happy to assist. Let me knowCurrently, I am working alone, but I am seeking assistance. Here is something I wrote to someone who contacted me on Discord:
So, first of all, I need the person helping me to fix the game bugs to be familiar with Ren'py so that they can precisely point out where the bug is located and potentially how to fix it (in the future, a closer collaboration may arise, to be evaluated). Additionally, I need someone who not only knows Ren'py but also can work on the GUI and help make the game more visually appealing. There are several improvements to be made to the game, and I am looking for collaborators who believe in the project and are willing to get involved.
Then:
Regarding English, I am trying to improve it, and I am using AI a lot to help me with translations (in fact, I am currently writing the game in Italian and having the AI translate the dialogues, after which I check for any issues. This method is greatly simplifying things for me and speeding up my work).
This is not an entirely new "Rebuild." It's the same "Rebuild" for which the first two episodes (weeks) have been released.
It's a demanding project, but if I continue to have the time, I can now move it forward as I used to before the Covid, with a reasonable release schedule.
For those concerned about seeing only things they've already seen in the original version of the game:
The plots are very similar, but all the storylines have more details, and the characters are more deeply characterized. There will be far fewer dead ends (meaning paths that didn't develop) and much less time wasted in plot development. I'm adding and will add more crucial events instead of repeating the same dialogues for several weeks to trigger an event.
On one hand, I'm simplifying the game, but on the other hand, I'm still filling it with content.
Nope, it was supposed to release in July 2022.. 6th of Nov he posted "a few days" which would be 3-4 days. Then a week or so later he said "soon" so it could be today, tomorrow, next year, never... who knows, HG is as reliable as everShouldn't the latest update come out in November?
Nov 13th patreon post: "I have people helping me fix the bugs, WE are refining the GUI, and optimizing certain aspects of the game." Did something change and people are no longer helping you with the GUI, or was it "we" in the royal sense? It's tough to get a handle on things when you keep changing your statements, just saying.."Sorry, guys. I'm trying to create a GUI by myself. I'm completely incapable in this regard. Right now, I'm adding some pop-ups that appear during conversations so that the player can see the stats of the person they're talking to. I believe it's extremely useful. It takes a while to create them, to make each screen with the correct stats. Making it visually appealing will take even longer. For now, I'll settle for getting it done. Then I'll focus on the basic GUI to show the day of the week, how much money the protagonist has, and a couple of other things. Once I'm finished and the game's appearance is at least decent, I'll be able to share it. At the moment, the game is almost free of bugs (I'd say bug-free, but I don't want to jinx myself). As soon as there are things on the screen that vaguely enhance the gaming experience, I'll release the new version."
"Some people have given me a big hand with the bugs and typos in the variables. As for the GUI, someone came forward, but then disappeared, so I'm moving forward on my own. This game doesn't generate any money at the moment, so anyone helping me is doing it purely out of passion and enjoyment. Hence, I can't approach people I barely know, only through chat, and force them to do work for which they won't be paid. If in the future the game generates 10k a month, I'll be happy to have a team helping me, and surely the releases will be more organized. I apologize if my posts confuse you between 'me,' 'us,' 'she/her,' 'they,' 'it.'"Nov 13th patreon post: "I have people helping me fix the bugs, WE are refining the GUI, and optimizing certain aspects of the game." Your general use of pronouns is not my problem nor is it confusing, the use of "we" when you meant "I" was.I apologize if my posts confuse you between 'me,' 'us,' 'she/her,' 'they,' 'it.'"
If it was concerning another dev who didn't share HGs checkered past I'd agree. Here I feel it's 100% warrented since it's indicative of his previous missbehaviours and it should be called out. CheersAfter your posting of several comments droning on about various shortcomings of the dev, I would submit the following:
nitpicking
A process of finding or pointing out tiny details or errors, particularly if the pointed-out details seem insignificant or irrelevant to all but the finder.
you are talking about someone with 7 well 6 i mean 5 completed games under his belt, his only mistake ever made was to listen to some whiners about animations, i guess we could call it back and claim it was when he changed to ren´py but i enjoy ren´py !If it was concerning another dev who didn't share HGs checkered past I'd agree.
