I'm not against the MC and Chika starting a friendship, as long as I can prevent that relationship from turning into something romantic.

I just never cared for Chika in the first place. She is always trying to say some antagonistic stuff about MC, how he lacks brain cells, etc. Whatever she wants to do, fine, I just do not care to see her around me.

Agreed, it pisses me off when the MC calls her under-developed. She is perfect in my opinion.

Pretty cute. Says I don't know what I'm talking about, then says that they may have come across prostitute scenarios but they don't remember, because you quite clearly don't mind having prostitutes as a LI. That's fine just don't contradict yourself.
I can point you to a game that just came out claiming that it's vanilla yet has 2 of your LI's being a stripper/whore and another having her tits played with while being in a thong and pasties by another man because it's part of her job. It's a trope that happens quite frequently.
I get it. You like the game. I did also. They took a really good looking girl and made her a whore. So we have to skip her if we don't like that. Also all the 4th wall shit is just immersion breaking. I and others are just sick of getting these lame excuses from devs saying it's to make the story better or oh there is a reason why she's fucking everyone paying and thinking that most the people in the harem genre will be ok with it. There is plenty of games that have the prostitute LI that you tame or has a "tragic" backstory of why they do it. What makes it even worse is that half the games don't even have the tag and it comes at you like a curve ball.
I also have to agree Kamsae and Gatosabio. She is gorgeous and one of my favorites and it's a shame the MC is such a piece shit towards her.

Personally I haven't came across this trope often in the 140 or so games ive played. I also don't play many harems so maybe it's more common in those type of games. Since you and others say it's common. For me it's a breathe of fresh air because it's an actual dark story and is different than what I usually see. However if you see it alot I can understand how it would be annoying for sure.

Yeah It happens a lot in harem games that i find funny harem games is the games where devs have the great idea of making LIs prostitutes,strippers,camgirls etc when in these games the player base want the opposite happens a lot whit new devs
This Chika issue only exists because of the devs on mistake, AVNs have their own genres, when a dev tags a game in a certain way players will expect a certain type of content, they will play and sometimes even support a dev based on what is said, if the devs change their way or somehow start adding content that is clashing with the core tags he mentioned at the beggining of development, players will feel they were lied to, and as such will lash out.
Anyone that has being around the AVN world could have expected this type of reaction from their players.
Pale Carnations is a great example in this regard, you dont see this type of reaction there and prostitution is all around it, the difference is that players always knew what they would get by playing it. The dev was clear and honest about its content from the start.
Now this is just my opinion, but to say you have no respect for players because of their reaction, to a mistake you made is honestly embarrassing. Vanilla and Prostitution dont match its as simple as that, if the game had been tagged properly no one would have reacted this way.

I'm sure this is just a case of best friends banter and fucking with each other. throwing this kind of jabs to each other is what makes it fun. Also the MC is a bit of a clueless fuck and might not realize that the joke is sometimes taken a bit far.
You can block the memes and dev comments in settings. Dunno why you have to endure it if you don't like it. I personally enjoy some 4th wall shit.

ah I see thanks for the answer yeah I was actually kind of confused / curious cause for me it is rare to see but I rarely play harems but yeah if it's more common in harems games I can understand how that trope sucks to see for some. I personally like the story telling side of it from what I have been told still need to play the update to see for myself. Lol I asked my friend for spoilers as I was curious from things I read here. but at least now I understand why some say it's common when it doesn't feel like it to me

Pale Carnation is no harem game to begin with. I thought about trying it because of the great ratings it got but reading the tags alone makes my skin crawl.
Prostitution is not Vanilla. Vanilla stands for "normal" and "boring" nothing about prostitution says vanilla.
Your action here is the point though, you went into the Pale Carnations page, you read about it, saw what it was about and decided, hey this is not for me, and left, no complains, no issues, the dev was honest and clear about the games content and because of that you managed to take an informed decision, you didnt waste your time or money with content that you dont like seeing.

even then sometimes a dev changes their mind about a storyline or something. So it isn't always gonna be accurate. For that reason I don't really agree with saying dev's Lie on tags unless it's like a Chapter 1 or they say something won't happen and it does.
The game was tagged as Vanilla on Patreon and Itchio, so its not something just in the pirate site.
I can see your point, but in this case i have to disagree, i dont think the dev lied, but i do think he made a tagging mistake, vanilla and prostitution are pretty much in a different line altogether, they just dont match.
Vanilla is such a basic tag that it affects the whole development, changing such a core thing is not the same for example, as say adding or removing foot fetish. Its the type of thing that should be decided in the start of development and stuck with it, or you will have a reaction like we had in here.

Tbh, tags are put in by mods, not by devs (the ones you can filter games on when you search, the ones in the OP are sometimes put by devs, but mostly by mods that get them from the thread or the game itself). And the definition of tags is made by f95zone, not by devs.
Even so, the tags are there to give you a collection of sexual fetishes/practices that happen in the game. People keep saying that vanilla doesn't work with prostitution. It doesn't have to. It's a collection of things, they don't need to match each other. Does it have vanilla sex in it ? Yes it does...so by that standard, it has a vanilla tag. Does it have prostitution ?..it sure seems that way, so it has that tag. These don't need to be exclusive to each other, tags are never exclusive to each other for any game out there that has choices in it.
I see people complaining about the harem tag and how it's a fake harem. How is this even remotely logical in this case ? For all intents and purposes, as we know so far, you will be able to get all LIs at some point. If you choose to ignore a LI (for whatever reason) it will still be a harem game if you choose at least 3 of them. Even if some are exclusive to each other, if there are at least 3 of them, it's a harem, by all definitions made by this site. If your personal definition of a harem game is not what this site says when it tags game with it, then that is on you, not the mods and not the dev. Nobody lied to you mates, get over yourselves.
All that being said, the dev can choose to ignore whatever definitions you or me or the mods make and just tell the story he wants to tell. The fact that us mighty pirates don't agree with him means nothing. Stop whining and being toxic about everything that is not 100% your way.
Can we talk about the game and make theories about it, speculations, even suggestions if you will, but in a more polite manner and with arguments on why there is that feedback said ? Having a personal bias is not an argument btw. You can say freely that you don't like that character, or that storyline or whatever else, but don't come screeching and yelling and spamming "REEE, that tag, or the other tag, or the other thing, this game sucks 1 star"...when at the end you are still playing each update, follow each thing about the game, or else you wouldn't be here wasting time, right ? Because that's your main thing, no ? You say you want the game to be properly tagged so you don't waste time ? then stop wasting time if it's so goddamn precious to you.
