The game doesn't have a main story yet and currently is still being developed, for now it's available for an early inexperience gameplay walkthrough with verison updates.
Awesome map! Most of the recent updates have been H scene additions, so you could also use the other map made for 0.44 here if you want to get into the very small details of this game.
I've already made a "map" of sorts for that, but it only has text and arrows. It has every single entity you can interact with. I'm not even kidding. It took me two weeks to get through everything.
Forgive me if these are stupid questions, but is this a stand-alone pre-patched version or a patch that I need to apply to the base game. And if the former, does it still require locale emulation? And if it's the latter, I assume you'd just install it by copying over/replacing files in the base game folder, correct?
Only three so far. By "event" I mean triggerable dialogue scenes with floating event markers. One is the rescue event with Illusive which has two dialogue branches, there's the Old Woman near the floating hill Altar, and the last is the Alleyway Bar event which leads to a game over.
The only NPC you can talk to more than once right now is Suzune and her questline is incomplete so far. Illusive you can talk to once and gifts you a weapon, but she can't sell items as of now. Vendetta you can talk with to re-spec your character.
There are a few witches you can rescue around the entire game. Mostly around the initial areas, but there are some in the latter parts as well.
D-Lis said the issue is with Unity itself. Just click on one of the options then use the keyboard/controller from there on. Actually, just unmap all the mouse controls since they're pretty wonky.
Event trigger near the Small Hill Altar in the Bridge District. It's less an Event and more of just an NPC you can have dialogue with. I haven't tested if the dialogue changes if you kill Albert beforehand.
Someone's trying to steal my coveted map making position Q_Q
How did you get the map to fit in one file like that? I'm guessing a mod, or something, that allowed you to zoom out really far?
I tried to do that originally, to save myself some time, but screenshotting the game and taping them all together was exhausting, and apparently MS Paint has pixel size limits before it crashes, plus the like 100+ MB size. I tried importing the screenshots to GIMP, but that somehow made the file size explode to almost one gig.
In other news, doesn't look like much has been added to the game, since I mapped it all out in v0.44. That's pretty disappointing. This game has so much potential, but the developer is dragging it longer than it took to make Symphony of the Night, and other games of that era, which used arguably sluggish and frustrating game engines (not to mention pixel placement, etc).
Zoomed out with BepInEx. The main player camera was named "Main Camera" so I found it quick. After that, I changed the camera mode to orthogonal with a FOV of 80 (just wide enough to retain some detail when zoomed out). Then I disabled the tilt-shift shader on it because it was ruining the screenshots I was taking
Then I stitched together the screenshots in Photoshop and it's done!
All in all, the image is 11670x3631 and takes up 12 MB as a .PNG file but 100MB inside photoshop

Forgot who Albert is. Isn't that some mob who rapes a witch and which Aradia is given the option to kill or not?
Speaking of Aradia making choices, does anybody know if she has a personality? I couldn't identify anything except "tragic backstory, apparently", which is kinda weird to add since she's already being routinely raped, and isn't "cold edgy angst protagonist" quite the weird personality for a professional involuntary cumdumpster?
Also, the recent uncensored+translated link is using SecretlyDiscarded's translation file, right? Not sure if it was already updated for this version or not, but I'm guessing so.
No those are the two giant enslaved convicts that you need to defeat to free Illusive (she'll be freed no matter which choice you make). Albert is the serial killer in the Requiem Forest/Forest of Eternal Rest.
She's not as chatty as other game protagonists. She's curt and really likes to use informal (not rude) speech. But she does offer her help to Suzune because they're both seeking vengeance (Suzune turns down the offer)
She's prone to reminiscing about the past, and feels inadequate for not being able to save her family.
She has a strong sense of duty, but as a result you can easily strongarm her into doing something she doesn't want. This becomes her downfall in the Alley Bar Bad End.
She's a bit cheeky with how she doesn't turn down Suzune's items once offered, but she doesn't go out of her way to ask for repayment.
She also immediately jumps in to save Illusive (if you decide to). She has her somber moments too when she prays for the souls of the men that abused Illusive (just before executing them, of course).
Her willpower is incredibly strong, even in some of the bad ends where she still tries her hardest to struggle. It takes literally hours of physical torture and sexual abuse to break her mind, and even then she still comes out physically unharmed. There is that one game-over CG where they literally drown her in cum, but there's nothing you can do about drowning to death.
All in all, she's a pretty standard protagonist. You could probably swap her with Miriam from Bloodstained and the only difference that would make would be the positions of the magic tattoos and the cup size.

Ty for that lore dump, love myself some of it . I never found the alley bar bad end myself, but ive seen it before so good to know that she gets strongarmed into it because it kinda confused me. I wonder where it actually is.

The new ending CGs don't include new dialogue. I double-checked, but the change notes were pretty much spot on. Looks like there's no need for me to update the translations!
Also, I think I mistook the girl next to Aradia in one of the ending CGs. She doesn't have the same hair and eye colors as Candore, so she might actually be Vendetta instead.
I don't know what specific files you're switching out- do you mean the data files or the executable/application?
I think I found the problem anyway, its not the executable itself, its something specifically in the NightofRevenge_Data folder - and while I COULD go out and find the specific file thats breaking the menu, that seems like something that is going to break something else very specific if changed. You fix one bug, and you get two more. I'll try it anyway to see if I can find whats specifically wrong, because until then I'm stuck playing v0.29 instead of 0.42.
Going over the problem, lets see.
By process of elimination, It's something in the NightofRevenge_Data folder, and a problem from as early as Version 0.34. I've made a 'changelog' of all the obvious things that have changed between 0.29 and 0.42. Might be incomplete, but this is everything I can see in the NightofRevenge_Data folder. Otherwise, in 0.29, the OtherConfigData folder doesn't exist either, which changes in 0.34.
If its not a problem with specifically one of those folders, then I'm lost and this was a waste of time.
EDIT: I put all those folders in the v0.29 folder in their proper places. Except globalgamemanager, because when I replaced 29's gammanag with 42's, 29 crashed after launch. Didn't get the menu issue otherwise. What the hell? I bet I'm going to get hardcore bugs come whatever the game considers level 43 to be though.
EDIT2: Alright yeah, thats working pretty effectively. If anyone else is having that issue with the main menu where you can't select anything, try the above.
