thats a good joke just imagine your gang reputation if you ride the leader in public
its more realistick if a rival camp raids and the leader gets captured and trained
I think the idea (and that's what I like too) is that your character is leader on name only. That your gang is actually led by another character, likely the 2nd in command. This is what I always go for, since the puppet leader status is always about mind control, something I'm not really into.

I haven't tried it myself, but the way I view the Slave Leader thing is that despite being your state, you're still very intelligent and they're just taking your suggestions for missions.

The expiry timer for Keldan Alley isn't being removed for me when you go on the assignment so when it is renewed when you take the exploitation option and crit the whole thing messes up. I only play this mod so don't know if it's a base game thing.
It's a base game thing, but in the base game crits are rare enough that it's difficult to be impacted by this bug.

PC slavery won't work well until the game has some form of AI to run the camp by itself.
What point is there in playing if the camp runs by itself?

I'm always amazed by the amount of people that get off on turning a slavery game into a slave game. You do you I guess, but once you remove the management aspect to be a more realistic slave simulator there isn't really anything left to play here.

You're not wrong. I don't care as I don't play for sub content. Just making an objective comment on the ever-recurring "you should be able to keep playing as a slave" complaints.

That said, Bedlam has stated an AI of sorts is planned for after the conversion to manage the camp when the player character is away or otherwise unavailable. The game is currently designed as a camp sim because of the engine, mechanics and gameplay loop, but the dev's vision leans towards a roguelike life sim of sorts. So it's mixed.

there are a lot of subs out there or ppl that love to torment an Mc so let them dream
also i do not consider this game a management game nor a bandit camp sim
(that side is not even rudimentally highly incomplette and near zero impact in gameplay)
The core of this game lies in the misions where you and your mates fuck or get fucked up depending on the level of success or fail.
any other element of this game are badly done including the engine itself
Yes this game is EVIL:devilish: but also a lot of funn:sneaky::ROFLMAO:

Fair enough, sorry for shooting the messenger then.

As for those AI plans, seriously? In fucking RAGS?
I suppose the game isn't broken enough already for Bedlam so he decided to run it off a cliff even faster.

There's plenty of sub games for those subs. Bedlam made Whorelock's Revenge before No Haven for exactly that kind of target audience.
I don't see the point in trying to focus the entire experience of a slavery management game on a small aspect that sort of requires you to fail at your actual task. If falling from a position of power is your fetish then good for you I guess, but let's not pretend that's the main purpose here.

As for this not being a management game, let's agree to disagree. It's not like camp, character and mission management is like 98% of the gameplay or anything.

Oh, that's definitely for after the Twine conversion, as stated.

I wonder if Free Cities ever got as much of a push towards player slavery!

I get playing for failure though, it's how most sub games go. And NH has always teased that sort of gameplay, with super negative starting aspects and assignments like Quick As You Like. So far Bedlam's line has been sort of "you can fail, but don't fail too hard". Clearly not enough for a lot of players!

"If falling from a position of power is your fetish" you bark to the wrong wolf
"character and mission management is like 98% of the gameplay" badly made ->highly automated
And you can consider of an oppinion of someone who love management games be it xxx or not.
ppl play this game because the porn side is good+ the dev do it like a covert addictive lootbox from the first game he made until now.
So what keps you for hours (tortured) playing is full greed of unexplored porn

I suppose the consequences for failing in Free Cities would be a lot more serious.
Don't think there was much of a push though, certainly not after the original development stopped and it was taken up by 8chan/kun.

I'm kind of surprised Bedlam wants to turn this into a "roguelike life sim" because that's basically what his previous project already was. Limited to a dungeon of course, but it was all about rolling the dice and getting the MC messed up and toyed with as much as possible.
Seems like a huge waste of the surprisingly well working (for RAGS anyway) management system in place.

I... err... what?
I genuinely have no idea what you're trying to get across here.
So yeah... love you too?

I guess what it means is his vision is character-focused on the player character, a story of their becoming a slaver and eventually retiring from the job after fulfilling certain end victory (or not) conditions, after various personal adventures, some even unrelated to slaving.

The alternate path would be focusing on the camp itself as the protagonist in a way, with possibly other characters taking over as leader after the first PC retires.

Who knows what he'll choose, if it ever gets that far...

Interesting.
Well, more odd than interesting if he really aims for a more character-focused experience since the current game isn't set up like that at all and I'm not sure how he'd turn it into that without discarding a lot of what made NH popular and unique.

That alternate path doesn't seem very alternate to me, it's pretty much the current state of the game. A party and camp management project with tons of fluff attached. There's not a whole lot of character development for the MC or anyone else.

the camp is already the protagonist here. i mean, you never see anything else, even when the leader of the camp (your character) go to a mission you (player) still remain in the camp to read reports of the assignements done and you can or cannot start other assignement. one the few section of you "play" your character is the first at the lord's gate.

Oh, I gather it would mostly involve stuff like more mini-CYOA assignments like Lord's Gate and QAYL, and maybe more PC relationship building with NPCs and groups. He definitely plans more endings, good and bad, and maybe different background stories of why the PC became a slaver. I doubt the essential gameplay loop of managing camp, picking assignments, will change too far.

My guess is it's going to be a mix of both. Like you get an ending for your PC and can continue the camp with someone else, new game+ style.

it is not odd at all if you understand that it born from a side project after he totaly failed the dungeon generator in the main.
Simply it born from an attemt to create short game loop in order to release his stile of xxx content
About the character development that you "miss" it is the traits and cosmetic elements including unique pictures
the main game flow relies on traits 100 times more than the camp management that was mostly not there from the begining
also the endings are similar to the earlyer game just allow more hapy ending
The main difference is that the MC has companions growing with hin/her this is also the reason the rags engine canot keep up.
