Yeah, I feel that this game would have turned into gold if BBQ had used Pixel Art scenes to fill in the gaps as well as make the freeroam interesting but games that use both styles are pretty rare. I vaguely remember the developer from Engraved Pleasure writing in his Cien that he had no idea that he could add sprite sex into his game and so added a few at the very end of the development cycle. It was pretty shocking to me as I couldn't believe someone would be working on an RPGM NTR game and not be aware of NTRPG.Even after that, the things the MC could see were really really limited, there were 0 pixel art sex scenes if I remember correctly so wandering around the city was a complete waste of time, I don't see why people praise that game so much and to add to that, the 'dungeons' are extremely boring and repetitive, it's just a game that sucks to play from all perspectives imo
As for why it's so popular, I would think that it's because the art is pretty good and the game itself is, well, an actual game. I personally really like the heroine.
