Also idk, but am I the only one who just dislikes these sorts of games? Like doujins, sure, that makes sense. It's like a fanfic. But I really do not like games that parody actually available material. Feels to me like its just a lazy way to make money with an established brand. Sure there are rare cases where a game can make sense. Like for example a game about a side character of a gaming franchise that has always been popular in the h-scene (shoutout if you know what I mean lol), but all in all I just feel original stories are a lot better, and most of what you get with these games copying officially licensed material are just cheap one-off games where you have some lame groping or penetration game or a very weak ass plot with little effort behind if beyond just letting you fuck the characters.

Because its not Frieren its Free○n, lol. It could definitely be pulled if the IP owner made a stink about it, but its more trouble than it's worth to mess with in most cases. It's not worth the cost it would be for a lawyer to draft a cease and desist every time it happens.

Nah, they will fine unless the copyright holder directly prohibits them (like Uma Musume). Otherwise they are treated as doujinshi.
Btw, the reason Sword Art Online: The Trap of Breath Concealed Magic had to change its name when it was officially translated was because it was going to be released outside of Japan, where the copyright system doesn't really work the same way.

and really neat setup then disappeared from the face of the earth after their April 2023 update. I would look up their
twitter / X, but unfortunately I have no twitter account and don't want one (fuck you Elon), so maybe someone
could check their twitter for infos? Tho I doubt there is anything substantial on there. There is no way to contact them
or find them on other social media and the comments on the ci-en page are disabled. Very much a shame, I would
