It also doesnt matter that "we used to date" is an acceptable term for anything. Its about the fact that they used to date and love each other, but she still ultimately cheated and betrayed the MC (with his only faults being trusting his friend and not seeing the cheating signals) , and just basically spat in his face again with 0 remorse.
Thats the thing thats unsettling me.

I know that best myself. I have been exposed to this genre for... almost 10 years? Its still haunting me and always gets back to me, no matter how often I delete all my collections or try to do other stuff to forget about it. After some time I always get back...

Sorry for assuming... in my case, I ignore the male MCs completely in those games and treat them as tools so that I won't sympathise with them. Just don't connect the scenarios to anything or anyone in the real environment. Hope this helps.
